This week saw prog rock legend John Mitchell (@LordConnaught) (It BItes, Arena, Frost*, Kino & more) release some new music in the form of his new musical endeavor 'Lonely Robot'. Please come home is an exceptional piece of work! John at his best as far as i'm personally concerned!
With some help from friends such as Nick Beggs on bass and Craig Blundell on drums, other guests include Steve Hogarth, Nik Kershaw, Heather Findlay and Jem Godfrey (Frost*).
Mitchell comments, "With Lonely Robot, I have a clean slate and that's very exciting, because nobody expects anything in particular. It reminds me a lot of how things were when the Kino album was done, in that no-one knew what would come out of it. Musically, the Lonely Robot album is very Proggy, but more about atmosphere than technical expertise.' 1. Airlock (3:55)Â
2. God vs Man (5:40) 3. The Boy In The Radio (4:49) 4. Why Do We Stay? (5:10) 5. Lonely Robot (8:07) 6. A Godless Sea (5:26) 7. Oubliette (5:19) 8. Construct/Obstruct (5:46) 9. Are We Copies? Review of 'Please Come Home' will be up asapÂ
Now its no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with this band so when I heard that 'A' have announced that they are to play this years download! I screamed with excited meant! Sadly I wont be seeing them at download they are hinting at doing some warm up shows How ace is that!! They will be joined on bass by ex Kids in Glass houses member Shay as their original bassist Daniel P Carter is busy with other commitments. Lets hope it is the start of new things for 'A'...maybe some new music? Or maybe that is just wishful thinking!Â
Charlie Simpson to release new album 'Long Road Home'
While his ex-busted band mates James Bourne & Matt Willis have joined McFLY to become McBusted Charlie has been working hard on his latest album.'Long Road Home' which is due to be released July 14th. Charlie sent out an email to his fan base regarding this news.
In which he said ' The making of this album has been an incredible journey for me, it is probably the hardest record I have ever had to make. It took me a while to find what I was looking for and there were points when I nearly had to go back to the drawing board. However, after taking some much needed time out from writing and all things music related, I came back with a completely fresh perspective and wrote, in my opinion, some of the best music I have written in my career so far. It's an album I am hugely proud of and one I had to fight for which makes it all the more special. I can't wait to finally be able to share it with you guys! '
Charlie has also released details of a new show to celebrate the release of 'Long Road Home'. You can catch Charlie at London's Roundhouse on October 14th. You can also pre-order the album hereÂ

I Divide's video for their new single I'm Not Leaving from Last One Standing (out 14th April) GO ORDER NOW!!
I Divide Review
Last One Standing is the follow up album from rockers I Divide. The album is due to be released on the 14th of album via their label Destroy Everything. Last One Standing feels like I Divide have grown both lyrical and musically since releasing 'What's Worth More' back in 2011. This new album has lot to offer! It's creatively written, catchy, emotionally evocative & in keeping with I Divide's rocky style. The album is not short of catchy hits with riffs to match & drum fills the get under the skin, including Follow Me, 27 Down, Run Away & the new single I'm Not Leaving. Even after only releasing two records this is their best to date! We are excited to see what is in store for these guys next!
Track listing 1) Follow Me 2) Tell Me Something 3) I'm Not Leaving 4) Monster In Me 5) Living In A Hurricane 6) Cold At The Bottom 7) 27 Down 8) Run Away 9) Say It Isn't So 10) Let Go 11) Look At Me Now For fans of: You Me At Six, The First, The Blackout, Yashin, One Hundred Our favourite songs: 27 Down, Look At Me Now & I'm Not Leaving Album rating:5/5 'Last One Standing is not short of catchy hits with riffs to match & drum fills to get under the skin along with being emotionally evocative this album is their best to date! Also having a cute lead singer does help them;-)'
5.Matters At All was released on the 31 of January 2010. Its taken from the album 'Dirt' released in 2010. This is the 2nd song from this album that I have chosen as I love the album & this song is just so catchy & awesome. Cant say much more :)Â
4. I love all their albums but I do feel this is one of their best albums & songs. Its catchy and has had me hooked since it was released on the 20th of September 2013 from their latest album 'Peace' which they recorded with Dan Weller (Enter Shikari etc). The album was released on the 30th of September 2013 and is their last album.Â
3.Diamond Days is taken from Kids In Glass Houses 3rd Album 'In Gold Blood' which was released on the 15th of August 2011 and was again produced with the help of Jason Perry. The Single was released on the 19th of March 2012. There is other songs I could have picked from this album but this is the most played on my itunes as I just love it. I feel that it shows that as a band they have grown and with that so has their sound.Â

2. I am not the biggest fan of Frankie Sandford but i do love her vocals on this song. Undercover Lover is one of my all time favourite songs. It was written by the guys & the legendary Jason Perry. Taken from the album Dirt which was released on the 29th of March 2010 through Roadrunner Records The album was recorded during mid-2009 at Sonic Boom Ranch Studios in Texas with Jason (Perry) and at Long Wave Studios in Wales with Romesh Dodangoda (Smart Casual producer).
1. As we stated in our previous post the following 5 (including this video) videos are our all time favourite Kids In Glass Houses songs.
Fisticuffs' is taken from Kids debut album Smart Casual which was recorded during late 2007 at Long Wave Studios with the legend that is Romesh Dodangoda.  This was the first song I heard from them and instantly feel in love with their sound. Â
I am currently at home unwell with gallstones (believe me they are flippen' painful) and awaiting to see if I need an op. While being at home I've had a lot of time to work on our site (when not in serious pain) & it came to my attention this week that one of my favourite bands have announced they are to split by the end of the year. Yes you guessed it I am on about Kids In Glass Houses. I love this band and was a bit upset upon hearing this!Â
They are to do a 'farewell' tour in october. Dates are as follows:Â
We hope that lots of you will be making it along to say goodbye to the guys as Kids in Glass Houses, but we do hope that they will come back with other projects in the future. We will continue to love their music & support them as individuals.Â
We have picked our top 5 favourite songs/videos for the guys. Its been hard as we love everything they have done.Â
Videos to follow :)Â
The Romantic Era are a 9 piece pop/rock band with twist. We caught up with them recently to find out more about them.Â
We ask every band this, what is the story behind the band name? Did you guys pick anything else before settling on this one?
This has been our name from the very beginning. Ben (Drummer) was in a music Freshmen year of college and when he heard the name âThe Romantic Eraâ he always thought it would be a cool name for a band. When we started this project the he brought it up and we loved the idea. The Romantic Era period of music represents this revolt from the norm in art. It promoted originality in art and we really embraced those ideas when we started the project. Also, we are a pop band whose lyrics revolve around love themes. The Romantic Era is the perfect name for a romantic, artistic and rebellious band.
The Romantic Era started out in 2010, what would you guys say has been the best part of the last 4 years?
I think the coolest thing for us in the last four years is how this vision has slowly come together. Four years ago we only had 5 members and slowly over the years found the right talent to make the sound we envisioned at the start. We stole members from other bands, recruited my younger brothers and my roommate and finally got the members we needed to make these electric pop sound.
There are 9 of you in the band, who is the one that takes the longest to get ready to go on stage? Who is the one that spends the most time in front of the mirror?
Our emcee Rakim and our emcee Rakim. I mean honestly, we have a female in the band, yet she is ready long before Rak. He may have four or five outfits on throughout the day before he chooses the right one. But Iâll tell you what, dudeâs got the most swag in the band.
Is there any special thing you guys as a band do before going on stage? A prayer? Group hug?
6 of us played college football and because our live show is so energetic we love to get amped up before going on stage. Many shows weâll get in a huddle and chant some crazy random impromptu saying before get it poppin.
As a band your influences are listed as anything from Michael Jackson to Fall Out Boy. Out of all of your influences who would you guys most like to tour with? (can be alive or dead)
If Michael Jackson were still alive and we had to the opportunity to tour with him that would be insanity. Realistically I think we would kill it if we opened for Queen back in the day. We could get the crowd amped for them and try and match their theatricality. Either way to watch Jackson or Mercury perform would be sick, but to share the stage with them would be a dream.
Justin Bieber calls his fans Believers. Do TRE fans have a nickname? TRE fans are rowdy and love to party. They live the #TRElife and we tend to call them #TREgang or #TREsquad because they make the shows jump and are a huge part of the success of TRE.
Over the last 4 years would you guys say the sound of TRE has changed? If so in what way?
Our sound has definitely progressed from strictly a pop rock sound to include elements of hip hop, electronica and dubstep, and R nâ B. I heard Fall Out Boy talking about the music scene saying that with music now listeners arenât interested in genres, they just want to hear good songs. We can really identify with this as our music is never really one genre. We build a song around the pop vocal taking elements from each genre to make the song electric, energetic, and pop to the listener. We have progressed to a strictly pop sound but to categorize the band into a genre outside of that would be difficult at this point.Â
When writing songs it must get hard there being 9 of you? Is there the main songwriters/songwriter or do you all help out?
We generally write a song by taking a stripped down piano or acoustic guitar and a hook and then building the song off that hook. Each of us has input lyrically and instrumentally and we try to create the optimal beat for the vocal parts we decide on. Â
On the bands youtube there are a few covers from you guys. What has been the best cover that you guys have done?
The best cover that we do and the most fun we have has always been the Cha Cha slide. Come out and see us live if you want to really Cha Cha.
If there was no TRE what would you guys be doing right now? The beauty of TRE is that this project is our life and always will be our life. We donât think in terms of back up plans because we wonât need them. #TRElife

DAY OLD HATE
Day Old Hate are a alternative/rock band hailing from Yorkshire. We recently had a lovely chat to vocalist Ollie.Â
We ask every band this even if it is boring but what is the story behind the band name? Did you guys pick anything else before settling on this one?
The name originates from the City & Colour song âDay Old Hateâ, Dallas Green was a massive inspiration to us in both Alexisonfire & City & Colour which is where the name came from.
Musically who would you guys say you sounded most like?
To be honest we try to keep our sound as original as possible so I wouldnât say we sound like anyone specifically. Obviously British music is our main inspiration bands like Deaf Havana, Exit Ten, Architects and You Me At Six. I canât think of a band that we sound like!
Out of the shows you guys have played so far has there been one show thatâs stood out for either being amazing or being awful.
It would have to be the gig we played at Corporation in Sheffield supporting Exit Ten. It was a great night & not many people get to play with one of their favorite bands!
Have you guys self produced your songs or did you guys work with a producer to help with them?
We play all original material, but our EP was recorded with Dan Lancaster at Studio Glasseye, bands like Don Broco & Lower Than Atlantis recorded with him so he seemed the right guy to go with.
If any producer was to work with you guys on a debut album who would it be a why?
Well obviously weâd like to work with the top dogs such as Bob Rock, Adam Dutkiewicz, Rob Covallo and Nick Raskulinecz however these are obviously long term goals. For the immediate future we are looking to record with our good friend and Red Seas Fire vocalist Robin Adams.
Explain the story of each of the tracks from the âDistances EPâ
A Sense of Direction â This songs about making sure you follow your dreams and even though you may get thrown off track you can still achieve what you want.
The One We Choose â This ones about how you pick one person to be with for the whole of your life & the troubles that love can give you and how sometimes the one you love can become someone you despise.
Now or Never â Some people may get stuck in a place where nothing happens, a dead end job in a boring town. I wrote this one because I needed to get out of the little town I lived in!
Donât Turn Your Back â The title explains the song really, you find that some people you meet in life can double cross you but youâve always got your loved ones to fall back on.
Is there any band(s) that you guys would love to tour with?
Foo Fighters. Who could say no to Dave Grohl.
Day Old Hate is a pretty cool name; do you guys have anything that you as individuals hate?
We are pretty easy going to be honest, but warm beer is definitely a hate.
is there any song from the last 30+ years that you guys would love to cover? Would you guys try to keep as similar to the original as possible or give it the Day Old Hate treatment?
We covered Trouble by Taylor Swift which was fun, we put an alternative rock twist to it which made it sound cool. The crowd seemed to enjoy it too!
Is there a certain style of music that you guys would think about trying if your current style had not worked out?
I think we would have always stayed as a rock band, the band have gone from breakdowns with heavier vocals through to more pop punk sounds. But now we feel weâve found our style if you like, which we feel is really unique and powerful!
