i've been complimented on my expressions (thank you by the way!) and a big thing that's helped me is keeping duchenne markers in mind when i'm drawing. it's the way your eyes scrunch when you emote. there's kind of an instinct you have to fight against when you're getting to grips with this stuff where you want to see as much of the eyes as possible because they communicate so much, but there are some expressions where doing that makes it look 'off'

This academy was my home, because i ran away into its formitory from my toxic family, here I found my new dear friends, I never felt lonely here, our company played table games almost every evening, here I found teachers i trust, the ones I was more than happy to visit. It's walls warmed and healed my soul. It was the first place I visited as soon as I returned to Kyiv from countryside where we tried to wait through all of the horrors while first year of full scale invasion.
