I'm stressed out beyond belief, as my pre-grad placement is one of the heaviest units. Catheters, lifting, IVs, meds, bowel programs, needles, and health teaching coming out my ying yang.
Oh.. and I still have my 50% paper to write.. fuccckk me.
But. Today I applied for my first nursing job, where I was placed in my last term. I absolutely loved it there! So, I'm crossing my fingers I get it. There's a few spots so, WOOOOT.

Mental Day
I need today. I need to breathe.
Since eleven o'clock last night I have been restless, and feel like I can't catch a breath because i'm so overwhelmed with work. Since I've returned from my Christmas Holidays my days have been bombarded with hospital hours (alternating between days and night), reading, studying or going to class. Even when I'm spending time with my boyfriend, I'm sitting behind a computer writing my next report.
A simple task of just deciding what I want to wear for the day takes too much time out of my schedule.
It's ridiculous, and I can't breathe.
I was supposed to have class today from 8 till 330 and then have a meeting with my clinical teacher afterwards. I won't.
I emailed three people today... Stating I had the "stomach flu" but in actuality, I just need a day to calm the fuck down. Why is it not acceptable to have a mental health day? I don't get it. I do not cope with stress well, and would like a day to just collect my thoughts and breathe for once. My work is done, I just can't focus on anything, because my brain is so clouded with information, and shit that I need to get done in the next two months. It's insanity the amount of pressure and stress that school can put on a person. And that for me, I would almost rather suck it up and do the day, because losing a day means I'm behind a week of work. Some how today, I don't give a fuck and have had enough. Nursing involves self-care, which many nurses don't take part in.. but today I am. I'm taking one day. ONE, because I do not care.
