@taylorswift had a lot at stake but she still did it, she did it so that everyone could be able to live safely and equally. What have you done ?

Some of you may have seen on my previous posts that my mum has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. We have never had to go through anything like this as a family so it is hard but we are all staying positive about it all. She doesn’t mind me talking about it on here because she knows this is my way of coming to terms and coping with things that happen in my life. 

Luckily, it is early stages so she could be in a much worse position, however, her treatment has been postponed for 3 months because of the coronavirus which is frustrating but completely understandable. I don’t think it has fully sunk in for me yet, I’m sure it will do soon but my mum being so positive about it all is making me feel positive too. She was made redundant from her job earlier this year and now this, I don’t know how she stays so positive but she always does.

Soon You’ll Get Better was a song that always upset me as it was and I didn’t plan on listening to it anytime soon since my mums diagnosis so when Taylor started playing it on One World: Together At Home, I was about to turn it off but I just couldn’t bring myself to do that. I know that it must have been so so hard for Taylor to perform that song on a global broadcast but her bravery forever inspires me. 

One of my friends said to me after the performance that Taylor is always here when we need her most and it is almost like she knew I needed to here the song in this way at this time. I cried, not just about my mum but about Taylor and her mum and everyone else going through something similar, but at the same time it sort of felt that Taylor was giving me a huge hug and telling me it will all get better soon. I really needed that.
