Honestly I’ve always listened to Taylor’s music and loved it. But my current phase of life has left me with a better appreciation of what all she has been through. Yesterday I was listening to “The Archer” and the line “all of my enemies started out friends” is literally my life right now. I used to be a part of a friend group, we were all close and things were great. They were support in my hardest moments of school. But then I learned that there are friends for every season of life, and there came a time where I realized that these friends were no longer good for my mental health. So we parted ways. Now, at the age of 24 I am being bullied by this group of my former friends. My reputation is being drug through the mud. So Taylor, I understand you now. I have a better appreciation for the things that you’ve went through. To my fellow swifties, you are always going to have bullies in life. You are going to come into contact with people that don’t celebrate your successes and root for your failures. These people are not your real friends. Remind yourself everyday of your worth. The worth that is not found in other people, but rather found in yourself. Because you are worthy of so much, even if the haters say otherwise. To Taylor, thank you for giving me music that is relatable and personal. I’ve been a fan of yours since I was 12 years old. I feel like I’ve gone through so many stages of life with you. My awkward middle school years, the angsty high school era, and now my college career. Your music has gotten me through so much, and I’m grateful to have it through this era of my life as well.
