Valkyrie Racing Ice Challenge 356, 2021. A restomod 1956 Porsche 356A that has been prepared for the “Project 356 World Rally” expedition that will cover 356 miles (573 km) in Antarctica this December. The process took more than 18 months and includes skis attached at the front axle and tracks to replace the rear tires for maximum traction on ice and snow.

Anchored off the church of Glenn Barrahane for the night, I had the brainwave to go ashore the next morning to get some holy water for the boat, from St. Barrahanes well. Holy wells are interesting places as they pre-date the arrival of Christianity. They were religious places that were co-opted by early christians, in this case presumably St. Barrahane himself, to help convert pagans to Christianity. As a result they are amongst the oldest continuously visited sites on the island.

We have the money. We lack the political courage. We fight on!
