You have to create your world every single day because the world wasn’t built for you. That makes us the ultimate architects.” · Think about what that actually means. Every system, every institution, every default setting in this country was designed around someone else’s comfort and someone else’s image. Black people have had to build identity, community, culture, wealth, and safety in spaces that were never intended to hold any of it. And not only did we build — we built things so compelling that the entire world wanted to borrow from them. Music. Fashion. Language. Art. Movement. The culture that drives global trends was born out of people who had to create their own world from scratch. · That is not a disadvantage. That is the origin story of the most resilient creative force in human history. André 3000 didn’t just drop a quote — he reframed the entire Black experience as a superpower. When the world isn’t built for you, you build a better one. That is exactly what we have always done.
