Big weekend for the youngsters! It was the 7 month olds' first show experience, and Sunshine's first long distance show. We traveled 6.5 hours to Midland, TX and they all handled it with flying colors 🥰

Jozi showed on Friday and received lovely compliments from the judge. Trixie showed on Sunday and despite being the more reserved, managed to really shine in the ring and I know her co-owner will have a great time with her as she matures and learns the game some more ❤️

Finally Little Sunshine was reserve to the major 2/3 days and absolutely rocked it! She has played the game a few times before now but she really seemed to click on this trip! I have high hopes for her in the coming show season as we ramp up in our region 🤩

Most importantly, they all handled the long driving days and new experiences like professionals and that is the best outcome I could have hoped for!

Gazelle: Oxota Stormcrow JC, my goofy Goober, 5 years old, she has some medical stuff going on but nothing holds her back! She is chief varmint control here on the ranchero.

Theo: BIF DC UCH Oxota Del Sol Revolutionary Fire SC CGC TKN JSR, just about 8 years old, everyone already knows Theo, but she has since finished her Dual Championship and has whelped a litter! Still my #1 best lady and Heart Dog ❤️

Sunshine: RunTuff Ghost OG at Tryasina, 1 year old, she is Theo's cousin and wet nurse 😂 As soon as the puppies were born she claimed them as her own and has been best buddies with them ever since. She has been showing with me recently and has been a rockstar

Owain: High Desert's The Earth Did Tremble, 3 years, Poodle man extrodinare. Best Uncle and watch dog. He is my shadow and weighted blanket, and takes these jobs incredibly seriously.

Jozi: Tryasina City of Gold, my first bred-by/keeper, she has mighty big shoes to fill, but she is not just a color copy, she has inherited so many of the traits that make Theo so special to me, and I can't wait for our adventures to really take off ❤️

Trixie: Tryasina Queen of the Rodeo, co-owned with my dear friend at Grimoire Borzoi, and she will be leaving us in April to join her family and new brothers in Georgia! I am so incredibly happy that one of my babies is going to be loved by someone I care for so much and they get to make memories together

Hey there, I've been following your blog for a long time! I've been casually interested in borzoi for a while and am thinking about getting one in the next few years if my living situation will allow. I'm also a fan of cats, though. Which brings me to my question: can a sighthound ever really be cat-safe? I've heard differing things online.

Yes! Some are cat safe, some aren’t, but there are definitely plenty of borzoi that safely coexist with cats. @sataraborzoi has cats. @magic-snoots has a cat. There are several breeders with cats who expose their puppies to kitties at a young age, which sets them up for success. If the cats are indoor only, even better.

Theo loves her Toon-cat. However, she is never left alone with him without a muzzle and she was raised from a baby with cats. Her breeder had cats and I had a different cat I lived with before I got Toon. I worked very hard with her to be gentle with the kitten, and she maintains that respect with other cats. If she came across one outside? Probably will be a very different story, with a sad Theo wondering why her new cat buddy stopped moving....
