A stunned feeling washed over Rise when she listened to him talk. His causal comment stopped her completely as her cheeks flushed up in a scarlet coloring. A smile of his and the fact that she was just told that he would eat her food, even if it was terrible.

Then the guilt came.

Her eyes flickered to the side as her pearly whites flashed slightly to bite her lower lip in thought before she groaned softly. He knew how to change her mind and she hated it.

“Okay, Char Char. You can help. But under one condition.” She rose a finger up before giving Charlie an easy smile.

“You can’t take over. I swear I took classes since LMB, due to me living alone so I won’t be like I was in high school.” Rise’s finger soon turned to her pinkie as she offered it up. “Promise?”

   He hadn’t meant to purposefully twist her arm. It was just honesty. Charlie felt weird not being able to help a little; it was that quality that helped him fit into the Dojima household so smoothly. Even made going out to restaurants strange -- he could pour his own water, there was no need to trouble the wait staff. Could suppress those urges, of course, as he was a seemingly normal member of society, but that didn’t make him feel good.

    “ The application process for joining the SHADOW OPERATIVES is impressive, you just need to shoot at the leader.”

The idol tensed up before looking at the male as she shook her head. “Charlie, I promise, I got it. I had some cooking lessons done.” Rise moved to give the other’s hand a firm squeeze, trying to make the point proven.

Slowly, she took her hand away before bowing rather politely then gesturing back to the couch. “Please sit. If you were here for more than just a few days then yes. I am fine with you helping. But you are a guest. So I insist. Sit.”

There was a stern look in her eyes, despite the tired look. Shifting, she seemed to hesitate before looking at Charlie. As if trying to figure out what to say, she looked at the male before smiling happily.

“What would you like to eat, Charlie?”

   (She had warm hands.)

   “It’s nothing to do with your skills, Rise. I trust you.” Pause. He couldn’t help the honesty almost pouring out of him. “And even if it was terrible, I’d eat it with a smile, because you made it for me. I just want to help.” Talk about guilt, considering the question he had on the backburner. Apartments in Tokyo were rough. Just above your average adventurer’s budget, especially if he wasn’t getting any adventuring done. 

People…were excited about this new movie? Rise was stunned. The movie they were both doing was going to be about two best friends finding themselves through a heartbreaking journey and end up actually getting to gether in the end for a sappy feel good ending.

It was a role that Rise was personally excited as she related too well to the character she was playing… and yet, she felt worried about the ending being well received.

Silent, she seemed to have ponder things before looking up to see the other as he commented. “Dinner? Uhm, not yet, actually.”

Rise got up from her seat as she looked to the kitchen then smiled. “What would my guest like to eat? I can cook anything you wish.”

   “Well, let’s see what you’ve got in,” came his reasonable suggestion, standing as well. (Leaving the koala comfortable on the couch of course). “I couldn’t let you do it alone.” One part politeness, and another part juuust to keep Rise’s hand from adding any undue spices. It was fine to flavor things up, but maybe not if it overpowered the rest of the dish. That said, she could’ve very well grown out of that quirk.

She arched a brow at his comment. A thought came to her mind before she shook it away from ever coming to the surface.

But, seeing Charlie was almost as if she was seeing him the first time when they saved her from her Shadow. The knight she had confidently confessed to and nothing happened after that.

However, Rise tilted her head a bit as she shifted to lean forward in her spot. “That’s good. Because there is only so much we can see until we can’t move anymore.” She laughed, looking at the male.

“Huh? Oh, Kanami is great! But…did word really get out about the movie?” She sighed, pressing her hands against her head.

“That’s disappointing.. I was really hoping we could keep it under wraps.”

   “Glad to hear it. I saw it on one of the tabloids in a convenience store, but I didn’t look into it further than that. Just saw the photos, but they looked so lousy and stitched together that they could’ve been fake.” That was a bit massaged from the truth: they looked real enough to him.

   Charlie didn’t know much about the film industry; his brief flirtation with it during the LMB Festival was more than enough to let him know that it wasn’t for him. Country-hopping and Shadow pursuit didn’t leave much time for keeping up with the business rags, either. For all he knew, the tabloids were reporting on a recent release, so a moment’s guilt ran across his face at her reaction.

“You ascended?! Then I feel for your partners!”

“I don’t understand a word you just said, actually.”

“So you’re saying you contain every kink possible and have the sex drive of a horny 13 year old boy? Even at an older age?”

“Then that makes you a masochist too, Char.” She states this so simply. “Last time I checked, Izanagi has physical attacks too.”

  “No, no, that’s a common misconception. I can understand why you’d make that mistake.“
