yes, you may - a sae itoshi oneshot (part of my lucy bedroque series)
you and sae have known eachother far longer than either of you could remember. you think youβve known sae since maybe first grade, but he remembers truly.
the truth is, heβs noticed u far longer than u noticed him. every glance spared before you guys became friends was savored and stored in saeβs mind, even from the young age of 2 all the way to 20.
when you remember meeting sae, you could only describe it as life-altering. from the age of 7 to 15, when he left for spain, he was the center of your universe. though he wasnβt your only friend, he definitely was your closest, most compatible friend.
sometimes it couldnβt even be described as friendship, more of a magnetic pull between you and him, like an string pulled taut and you two were helpless against the current.
so, when he had asked you to become his girlfriend after he got back from spain, it came as no surprise to either of your families, even to rin.
and the sheer audacity of him, even when youβve been waiting for this for years, he goes, βshouldβve done this sooner.β
a/n - guys did you hear abt lucy bedroque playing b4 cortis at lolla last weekend it was so funny seeing everyoneβs reactions

Sae Itoshi β caught by shidou
sae had you pinned against the wall, cock buried deep inside you as he fucked you with rough, punishing strokes.
it had been far too long. the second he came home and saw you, he didn't waste a single second on words. he simply shoved your shorts down, freed his aching cock and sank into you in one brutal thrust.
now he was drilling into you hard, hips snapping forward with a steady, merciless rhythm that had your back sliding against the wall with every thrust.
"fuck...saeβ" you moaned, legs locked tight around his waist. your nails dug into his shoulders as he drove deeper. "you're so deep...ahh!"
he growled against your neck, teeth scraping your skin. "been waiting weeks for this cunt," hus voice was low, strained with lust. "so fucking wet for me already."
one of his hands gripped your ass tighter, the other braced on the wall as he angled his hips and started hitting that perfect spot with every thrust. your moans grew louder, shameless, echoing in the small bedroom. the wet, filthy sound of his cock sliding in and out of you filled the air.
"gonna cumβsae..."
"then cum," he ordered, voice dark. let me feel you,"
he slammed into you harder, grinding against your clit on every deep thrust. the coil in your stomach snapped without warning. you cried out, walls clenching violently around his thick cock as your orgasm crashed through you. your whole body shook, thighs trembling around him while you moaned his name like a prayer.
sae kept fucking you through it, jaw clenched, eyes burning as he felt you pulsing and gushing around him. he was close, very closeβbut he was holding back, savoring the way your cunt squeezed him.
that's when suddenly the door swung open without a knock.
"oi, itoshi! you got anyβ" shidou's voice stopped dead.
ge stood there in the doorway, eyes widening before that wild, predatory grin spread across his face. he took in the scene: you pressed against the wall, legs wrapped around sae, his cock still buried inside your twitching pussy, your face flushed from your recent orgasm.
sae froze mid-thrust, buried to the hilt. the sudden shock of being caught hit sae like a freight train.
"dude shitβ!" he grunts through gritted teeth.
his hips jerked once, involuntarily. a groan tore from his throat as he came hard, thick ropes of cum spilling deep inside you while shidou watched shamelessly. sae's face dropped to your neck, biting down hard to muffle the sound as his cock pulsed again and again, emptying everything he had.
you whimpered at the feeling of him filling you up right in front of his roommate.
sae's breathing was ragged against your skin. his cock was still twitching inside you, sensitive and spent, as he slowly lifted his head.
"get the fuck out," he hissed, voice hoarse and dangerous.
shidou only smirked wider, tongue poking at the corner of his mouth. "you sure I cant a piece of that?"
"touch her and I'll kill you," sae said, holding you close to him.
shidou smirked, "fine. i'll just touch you then."
{small filler from my chatfic // hc // idk I was bored}
how would blue lock characters act if you turned into a tiny plushie?
Team Good Care
Loki: would act normally and keep you placed on his table. He would pat your head as he passes by.
Barou: Clean freak. Makes sure the plushie is flawless and keeps you in a dust less spot.
Hugo: Likes plushies so he keeps you near his bedside table before sleeping.
Ness: Loves to cuddles you and keeps you in his room.
Hiori: Also keeps you very neat and tidy. He can never decide where to place you so he's always moving you around in his room.
Niko: He has a lot of anime figurines so he places you with them and then shuts the glass door.
Kurona: you're in his bag. He will take you everywhere with him.
Team Mediocre Care
Shidou: loves plushie you but occasionally tosses you around when bored.
Charles: You're in his pocket. Then uses you as a pillow mid class.
Lorenzo: adores you and keeps you next to him in his sleep. But sometimes spills food on you. He feels lazy to clean it up.
Isagi: sometimes he forgets you're there (he's never had a plushie) but likes plushie you.
Chigiri: He turned you into a Keychain. I mean it's kinda nice and kinda scary.
Aiku: Uses you as a stress ball. It's fun to him.
Sae: Doesn't do much. Throws you at shidou sometimes. He forgets that he shouldn't do that.
Yukimiya: Forgotten on his shelf. Not like he hates you. He also never had a plushie like isagi.
Gagamaru: took good care of you then dropped you in mud by accident.
Team Bad Care
Kaiser: Tried to flush you first but plushie you is too fat for the pipes so he fed you to the fireplace.
Reo: He sold you off. (Needed change)
Nagi: Dropped you and felt lazy to pick plushie you up and now you're still under his bed; with spiders crawling over you.
Rin: punches plushie you because it's relaxing when he's frustrated.
Bachira: He ate you. He didnβt like it.
Otoya: He gifted you to one of his girlfriends. (Last moment present he had no idea what to do)
Karasu: He used you as a tennis ball.
Bunny: He used you as a backup cleaning rag.
(18+) bunny loves fucking you dumb
bunny is growing on meeπ i thought this would be perfect for him + hes hot as hell n soo big, soo yeah bunny debut!! howd i do! also i feel like heβd either be reallyy sweet in bed or just downright nasty but idk (idk spanish so i used the basics sorry n i WILL get back to my reqs now, sigh..)
the whole room felt foggy, like a hazy blissful dream and your mind was floating in it β the euphoric feeling of bunnyβs dick being the only thing you could concentrate on and the intense sparks of pleasure and ecstasy that hit every time he buried himself in you.
the heat and smell of sex was practically palpable in the room, the air a swirl of his moans and your whimpers, seeping from both of your lips as you held your legs wide for him. he was stood between them, your body draped across the sheets at the edge of the bed, cunt on full display as he held onto your inner thighs.
his huge dick was making you twitch every time he fucked into you, the indecent repetitive plap! of skin to skin bouncing off the walls of your shared bedroom. your moans were so loud you guarantee your neighbours would be filing a noise complaint again.
not that bunny cared.
he adored the way you would call out his name, voice all raspy and whiny as he stretched you so well and so so full. he was obsessed with how your pretty pussy squeezed around his throbbing cock, a feeling he could never get tired of, as your body got closer and closer. and he was addicted to that look in your eyes β that glassy, empty look of yours that told him he had fucked you soo good you had gone dumb. not a single thought but him swimming around in that sweet little head of yours.
so of course he had to drag multiple orgasms out of you, seeing you like that was his treat.
βyou still with me?β he didnβt think he had to ask with that look beginning to appear on your face but he did anyways, reaching down to slap at your cheek demeaningly. βor is your head already empty, cariΓ±o?β
his hips still meeting yours ruthlessly because he refused to slow down, you were fighting to keep your legs open, hands slippery from sweat and thighs twinging from keeping them wide open for ages.
βo-of course i am, donβt flatter, ahβ yourself!β you hissed.
βreally? that wonβt do.β he spoke to himself acting like he was surprised that you had responded, βiβll have to fix that.β
he was laughing slightly, the tone of it cruel sounding as he halted his movements and leaned in. you were dwarfed by his giant frame in instant, the entirety of his weight pressing against you, crushing you under his heaviness.
and it only made you wetter.
your glistening tits pushed to his scarred chest, he was kissing you sloppy β nipping at your bottom lip before dipping his tongue in your mouth, keen to taste you. you were struggling to match his frantic hunger, only able to moan into his mouth as he sucked on your tongue.
βconcentrate on me.β he panted, pulling away as strings of spit stretched between you two. βyou can do that for me, canβt you?β
you had never nodded so fast in your life, eyes locked with his crimson ones, not a lick of hesitation on your face. he pressed a kiss to your lips again, gentle and brief this time, a stark contrast to the one previously and you felt your knees go weak.
hands now coming to rest on your waist, he resumed β drawing you into his pounds and moving just as swiftly as before, not sparing a single second to build the pace back up. a thick ring of combined cum settled at the base of his dick and your cunt seemed to squelch louder, your added wetness only increasing the perverted sounds of the room.
your legs were slowing closing and your hands were slipping, fatigue battered joints trying to catch a break when bunnyβs hips were coming to a halt again, voice teasing you as he gazed at you hopelessly.
βprincesa, donβt do that,β he was swatting your arms away and folding you himself, angling your ass and hips a little higher, spreading your legs further and gripping down behind your knees. βhow am i meant to see that pretty pussy if you do, hm?β
the newfound angle was insane. his already stupidly giant dick had found a place deep inside your creamy walls that made your fingers crawl at the sheets, his fat tip that had shot several loads into you was pressed up at your cervix and your pussy that had already squirted a dozen times was ready to spray more.
βb-bunny! ohh, youβre gonna make me cum!β it felt like he was in your lungs, your cunt only able to clench around his length as you pathetically whimpered.
βso soon?β he chuckled, βitβs okay, you donβt need to think, just keep focused on me.β
he was driving his hips flush to yours, knocking the breath out of you and making you cry out, the waves of pleasure hard to contain. you really were so close already, teetering on the edge of your orgasm as your eyes turned into the back of your skull β pussy fluttering as his thumb found your clit.
βcum on this dick, cariΓ±o.β he was groaning at the tight hug from your walls, your swollen bud pulsing under his touch. your orgasm was brewing, his thumb putting delicious pressure on the bundle of nerves, the stimulation intense and hot.
mouth open and jaw slack, you were losing your mind, cunt clenching his dick like a vice and splashing his abdomen with liquid as your vision went white. even though this was around the fourth orgasm, it was mind shattering β hitting even harder than the previous ones. your were legs trembling and spine curving off the clammy sheets, thoughts cloudy as he fucked you through it.
βf-fuck, there you go.β bunny was smiling smug at your expression. oh how he loved it, you were so pretty like this.
you were in ruins β the only thing you were capable of doing was moaning, eyes rolling and irises flicking into the back of your head, drool spilling off the corners of your lips and clinging to your cheek. your brain felt like fucking mush.
βyou still with me now?β
βmmmh.β you slurred, your head obviously up in the clouds. the overstimulation your poor cunt was enduring felt divine and you were coating his dick a milky white.
βthatβs what i thought, fuckβ this pussyβs killing me, princesa.β pushing his twitching cock into your sensitive heat, his moans were only getting more vocal now as he began to reach his peak, fingers leaving an impression into your skin as the veins in his arms bulged. βdoes she want to be filled up, huh? does she want my cum?β
βy-yeah!β you were mindlessly yelping the word, balling the sheets in your fists and whining his name because he was the only thing on your mind.
βthen iβll give it to her.β
knuckles turning white as his hold on your thighs tightened, he was meeting your pussy with a particularly hard thrust and releasing straight into your overstuffed womb, a loud broken groan leaving his lips. your entire body shuddered at the sensation, cunt sopping and glistening as he pulled out, multiple rounds worth of cum leaking out your hole.
βlook at that.β he was running two thick fingers over your slit, gathering the drip and shoving it back into your cunt. βcanβt waste any after you begged for it.β
βt-too much...β you whimpered, limp and exhausted, unable to scoot away from him.
he was bending down and dropping a soft kiss to your lips, caressing a warm hand over your cheek. βi know, you did well, amor.β

Sae fingers you before a game...!18+
βWe have to be quick.β
Your back is pressed against one of the lockers, the cold metal digging lightly into your skin.
Sae stands in front of you, still dressed in his jersey, his soccer cleats on, like he should already be out on the field instead of here with you.
You were supposed to be in the stands.
He was supposed to warm uo.
Instead, the two of you are alone in the teamβs locker room.
Saeβs lips find yours again, kissing you with an urgency that makes it feel like the world outside has stopped existing. As though if he let go for even a second, youβd disappear.
His mouth drifts to your neck, leaving slow, heated kisses against your skin.
A quiet sigh escapes you before you can stop it, your head falling back against the locker as far as the metal allows.
βGodβ¦ Sae,β you breathe.
You can already feel the dampness of your underwear, the steady ache between your legs growing impossible to ignore. Every heartbeat only makes you want him more.
A soft hum slips from your lips as you instinctively press your hips forward, searching for the relief only he can give you.
Saeβs hand settles against your bare thigh.
His fingers glide higher, leaving warmth in their wake until they disappear beneath your skirt.
Two fingers brush against your aching center, and your body reacts before you can think, leaning into his touch with a quiet gasp.
A shiver rushes through you while he continues kissing your neck, completely unhurried despite the ticking clock.
βWe donβt have much time,β he murmurs.
His fingers move the damp fabric aside before slipping inside you without warning.
A startled moan escapes your lips.
βGod, Saeββ
He kisses you before the sound can grow louder, swallowing it against his lips. He has no intention of letting anyone outside those walls hear you.
βYou like that, donβt you?β he whispers, his eyes lifting to yours.
He watches every expression on your face while his hand moves, reading your reactions as if they were the only thing that mattered.
Every so often his fingers shift before his thumb settles against your clit, tracing slow, careful circles.
βSaeβ¦β His name falls from your lips in a breathless whine.
You can feel the tight knot building inside you, growing stronger with every passing second.
βYou want to come?β
All you can do is nod.
Your cheeks are warm, your breathing uneven, your body growing heavier against the locker as quiet moans slip from your lips.
Sae quickens his pace just enough, his thumb never leaving its steady rhythm.
Everything inside you tightens.
For one suspended moment, the world seems to stand still.
Then the tension finally breaks.
Your legs tremble beneath you as release washes over your body, leaving you clinging to him for support.
Your strength fades, your breathing coming in uneven gasps while Sae watches you carefully, not looking away for even a second.
Only after youβve come down does he slowly withdraw his hand.
His eyes linger on you before he absentmindedly brings his fingers to his mouth.
A small smile tugs at the corner of his lips.
βWeβre not done yet.β
Itβs the only thing he says before turning toward the locker-room door, leaving you standing there for another moment as he heads back out to the field, as though nothing had happened at all

"Oh, isn't she marvellous on that stage?" his wife leaned over to whisper in his ear. Once, that action would have sparked a heat inside of him, but these days it was like meaningless wind against his face. Truly, what a cruel man he was for falling out of love with the woman he promised forever with. His finger burned where his ring lay, punishment for thinking such unfit thoughts. But at the very least, he wouldn't go back on his vows? After all, all athletes value loyalty above all. Right? Rin didn't respond. How could he when he would spend the energy in formulating and communicating a reply, when he could just look at you?Β

A delicate ballerina gliding across the stage and a relentless soccer player rampaging across the field have more in common than one would assume β or in some cases admit. There was a certain beauty in watching masters at their respective crafts perform at the highest level; to be mesmerized by the slightest movement and absolute control of their bodies. Rin wonders if this was the same hypnotic state many would feel when he plays soccer.
Sorry, when he used to play soccer. Forgive him for making that mental error; he was still trying to find his place in his retirement. It wasn't like he was forced to give up soccer; Rin chose to close that chapter of his life because he felt as though there was nothing else for him to achieve. The Champions League was a stroll in the park, and he had more than enough World Cups to prove his mettle. As such, the Ballon D'Or and Gerd MΓΌller Trophy were handed to him as if they were his birthright. What more could he possibly need from this sport?
β sae doesnβt smile, but with you he does.
there was a reason people swore sae couldn't smile.
after years of watching him on television, seeing him dominate the field in stadiums packed with thousands of screaming fans, and reading countless interviews that all described him as cold, emotionless, and impossible to read, nobody could remember a single genuine smile crossing his face.
victories didn't change him, trophies didn't change him, and neither did the endless praise that followed wherever he went. his expression stayed the same through every achievement, every headline, every moment that would have anyone else grinning with pride. eventually, people stopped expecting anything different from him.
they convinced themselves that smiling simply wasn't something sae did, that perhaps he had forgotten how somewhere along the road to becoming one of the world's greatest footballers.
meeting you never magically changed him overnight.

He's so hot.
And not even in a damn good way.
Well, he is⦠but you can't focus on that right now. The Napoli sun streaks through the air and leaves your skin warm and sweat licked, and then there's Guido Mista.
Head thrown back where you sit by his side on the bench, lips curled up lazily while he talks about something you can't seem to care about⦠His Adam's apple shifts below his throat with every breath between words, addicting to watch if he wasn't driving you to insanity.
And his arm, comfortably thrown around your shoulder like it's meant to be there. It's not uncommon for him to do so, it's not unwelcome.
But he's just so fucking hot.

Poetry is⦠insanely stupid. You can never find the right words to say. Never the right timing, but maybe it's just not for you. Even when you try to make it perfect, it just always comes out wrong.
Every trace of ink against paper, just feels like it's⦠never the right time.
"Did it hurt?"
A smile pulls at your lips when you hear the all too familiar voice behind you, your hair falling slightly into your face when you shake your head in disbelief and take a glance over to the man leaning on the counter. Guido Mista. That's what he said his name was anyway⦠but a part of you hesitates to believe him.
He's too suave, too unreadable. Like there's something just underneath the surface that if you nudged him enough he'd tell you with a smile on his face, but you never ask.
"Morning, Guido."

wordcount: 3.2k (around 1k for each) | content & warnings: reader is referred to as "girlfriend" + usage of she/her pronouns, reader owns a purse, crackfick, teasing, joking, banter ; headcanons followed by scenarios

RIN ITOSHI | η³ΈεΈ«εΒ
When you first started dating Rin was pretty new to all the relationship stuff.
Heβd be awkward during physical affection. Quite literally stiffening when youβd hug him as a greeting. You think that even holding hands might have been too much for Rin at first, but over time as the two of you spent more time with each other and got more used to each other, Rin warmed up to you.
Still there were some habits of your early relationship phase that transcended over to your current relationship. Whenever Rin didnβt know how to behave around you, but still wanted to show you affection, he always insisted on carrying your purse.
Honestly, it was pretty cute. When youβd bring it, teasingly, Rin would just scoff and tell you not to bother with such lukewarm things, but it slowly turned into a habit. It was a gesture that made Rin show his love for you without having to verbally express it.
You didnβt even have to ask, Rin would always hold your purse. Whether that be on dates, on the way to the grocery store or to practice games. Rin would never let you carry itβheβd rather be a dead man. Seriously youβd have your purse slouched over your shoulder and heβd give you a stare that practically said βover my dead body.β
Now that you think about it, Rin was kind of like a puppy that would get territorial over their favourite toyβnot that youβd ever tell Rin. Who would carry your purse then? Honestly, itβd still be him (who else?), because he canβt stand the thought of you thinking him as unreliable.
You canβt help but think that it also is some kind of an ego thing for Rinβhaving you rely on him makes him feel like a good boyfriend whoβs able to take care of you. And honestly? It was really endearing, so you just continued to let him hold your purse.
There wasnβt ever an occasion where youβd have to carry your purse alone, at least not if Rin was around. But when the chance was given you took it, just to see how Rin would react.

Itβs past 3 am, and youβre sound asleep. The apartment is quiet and dark, washed in the moonlight and the distant glow of the city. Itβs quite comfortable really, but somehow lonely in your king-sized bed which clearly is too big for your small frame. Something β or ratherΒ someoneΒ is missing.
The main door opens unbeknownst to you. A suitcase rolls across the floor, shoes are quietly being discarded. Sae moves through the apartment in quiet, measured steps, his broad shoulders heavy with exhaustion. He walks through the kitchen and opens the fridge, grabs a bottle of water, and tilts his head back for a long drink. Heβs incredibly tired and jetlagged, muscles sore from the everyday rigorous trainings and games throughout the season. All he wants right now (every second of the day, actually) is to have you in his arms.
He cracks his stiff neck, his hands rubbing the back of it with a low sigh as he tries to ease the ache. All he got to do is shower first.
Fresh from the shower, steam clings to him as he enters the bedroom, with a towel wrapped low around his hips and another draped over his head. He rummages through the closet, careful not wake you up. He grabs a pair of fresh boxers to put on, preferring to sleep without a shirt. He rubs his hair with the towel, trying to dry it off as quickly as possible.
He approaches your sleeping figure and comes down on one knee to stare at your slumbering face. His cold expression softens instantly. He brushes a few strands of hair away from your face, thumb tracing your cheek with tenderness only you can get out from Sae. God, he missed you. He missed you in every second you were apart. He breathes out in relief.Β Finally home.Β He presses a soft kiss on your forehead before finally slipping under the covers.
Youβre not a light sleeper at all but you somehow stir when Sae pulls you in to his chest. His familiar scent hits you first - clean, sharp and unmistakably Sae. Your chest tightens with relief as you try to crack your eyes open.
βSae?β You mumble, voice horse from sleep.
Sae pauses, lightly taken aback by your voice. βDid I wake you up, angel? Im sorryβ He kisses your temple, gentle and apologetic.
You smile faintly at the kiss, βIβm glad you didβ
βIβm homeβ
βWelcome homeβ You nuzzle closer to his chest, breathing him in. βI thought you wouldnβt be back until tomorrow night?β
βThat was the plan," he murmurs, tightening his hold on you. "But I wanted to rebook the earliest flight as possible. Better to come home to you as soon as possible than spend the entire flight with those idiotsβ By idiots he means his teammates.
Shidou was definitely ready to take the separate flight with him. Sae deadpans as he remembers Shidou yellingΒ βTake me with you, daddy long lashes! You canβt leave me alone here!βΒ as he banged the door after Sae locked him in the hotel room, took the keys and gave it to Shidouβs agent.Β What a pain.
You lightly shook your head at his comment. βBetter than not getting any sleep Sae. You literally just had a game this afternoonβ You lightly scold him as you look up to him.
Saeβs lips quirk up a little at your worried expression, amused. βYes yes, Iβm sorryβ He dips down to kiss your lips - soft and slow. His fingers cup your chin, guiding your lips against his with a hunger he's been holding back for weeks.
He kisses you with fervour but gentle, as if he's trying to pour every sleepless night and every moment of longing into the way his lips move against yours.
Sae props himself up on his left elbow without breaking the kiss. He shifts himself so that heβs lying on top of you now, his right knee sliding in between your legs. You wrap your arms around his neck, fingers threading through his damp hair.
You pause and pull back slightly from the kiss, breathless. βDid you even get any sleep?β
But Sae ignores your question, mouth trailing down your neck, giving you light kisses, too focused in reacquainting himself with every inch of you.Β Iβll choose this over any sleep anytime,Β he thinks.

Time: past 12 pm
The oven hums softly behind you. When the timer beeps, you slip on your mitts to take out your homemade frittata, placing it carefully on the counter.
Nice. You turn back to the stove, the turkey bacon sizzling loudly in the pan. You grab the tongs and start flipping each piece. Breakfast is almost set β well brunch actually. This should be healthy and protein-rich enough for Saeβs diet. You just hope itβs equally yummy. Youβve always loved cooking for Sae, especially after a long time of being apart. It's one of the ways you express your affection towards him.
But Saeβs diet is far stricter than what youβd like so you canβt exactly feed him whatever delicious food you crave for. There would be certain nights that would call for a late night snack like pizza, which Sae would describe asΒ 'a sad excuse for a dish, pretending obesity can be served with a side of tomato'. So you just give him a stink eye and stick your tongue out. Whatever, youβre not the one missing out on a cultural masterpiece. Nevertheless, Sae would still accompany you without eating, smiling fondly as you stuff your mouth like a chipmunk.
Your train of thoughts suddenly gets interrupted when a pair of strong arms encircle your waist. Your boyfriend's chest presses against your back, his face dropping down to nuzzle into the crook of your neck. You melt instantly and smiled at this, heβs always been affectionate towards you. The media would definitely get a heart attack if they see this sight of him. There are only two moods Itoshi Sae is known for: unbothered and irritated. Anything but that is never recorded in history before, so says his fanbase.
βGood morning, sleepyheadβ
βGood morning, angelβ His voice is deep and rough - even deeper now that he's just woken up. He plants a kiss on your shoulder.
"Did you sleep well?" You raised one arm and caress his soft, maroon hair affectionately.
"Mhm. Best sleep I've had in the past 2 months" His voice is muffled against your neck.
"Hmm I coud tell. You were snoring" You tease him, a cheeky smile on your face. You turn off the stove and turn towards the fridge. Meanwhile, Sae never took his arms off you, following you in every step, your back pressed against his chest.
He lifts his head, scandalized "Did I?", the unbelief on his deep voice. You laugh. He must have been very tired. He normally doesn't snore except after long flights or after brutal, back-to-back training days.
You open the fridge and grab a bottle of kombucha. "Here you go" He looks up from your neck, releases you and drinks the kombucha.
"Help me prepare the plates Sae?" You ask as you transfer the bacon from the pan to a plate.
He does, quietly, still half-asleep, still glued to your side. When the table is set, he gives you a side hug and kisses your forehead sweetly, "You're the best".
You smile. "You're welcome"
ββ
You're chewing on your bacon when Sae speaks, his voice low and casual. "Let's go out for dinner later. There's this restaurant Girolan suggested for us to go to."
You look up at him, pause then swallow your bacon. "Which restaurant?"
"You'll see. Get ready by seven, angel" You see, here's a thing about Sae. When he plans a date with you, he never asks if you want to go. He always make room for you in his busy schedule, not wasting any time especially when you're free. That's one of the things you love about him, he always initiates.
You immediately rack up your brain for an outfit for later. Knowing Sae, he intends for a fancy restaurant.
And that's how you find yourself skimming through your closet a few hours later. A dress. A dress. A dress. Something classy, cute, and a little sexy β all in one. Okay, calm down you've got this. Don't sweat now, you've already done your hair and makeup.
Meanwhile, Sae waits on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He's dressed in black trousers and loafers, paired with a white buttoned shirt, with a few buttons undone on his collar. He took a glance at his watch, its nearly 7pm. He stands to go check up on you, but comes to halt when you step into the living room.
Your boyfriend is left stunned as he caught sight of you. His breath catches as you stand there, dressed in a butter yellow dress flowing right down your ankle, with a low v-neck line which features loose draping at the shoulders. You look radiant.
Sae walks toward you slowly, his hands finding your waist. His vibrant teal eyes trail down your figure, and you feel your face heat up as if his stare burns you. "You look beautiful, my angel" He dips down his head to meet you with a soft kiss.
"Thank you. You look charmingβ You tug lightly at his collar and rests both your hands on his cheeks.
He's always been handsome, beautiful even - only a fool would deny that. He stands tall, striking, and muscular. His usual cold glare sharp enough he can make anyone sweat easily. No one can deny his intimidating aura, especially on the field. And yet here he stands, melting for you.
"Youβre lucky Iβm taking you out," he murmurs, voice low. "Otherwise this would be off of you alreadyβ Heat floods your face. His deep voice making your insides turn. His grip tightens on your waist as he leans in for another kiss β a long and desperate one. His mouth trying to devour your lips, as if they were the dinner he intended.Β
You pull away from the kiss then push his chest lightly, knowing one second more would lead to another. βDonβt be cheeky now, weβll be lateβ
Your boyfriend drops his forehead to your neck, inhaling your scent. He swallows and takes a deep breath, fighting every urge he has to swoop you away in his arms.
He settles for a soft kiss on your neck. βLetβs goβ He straightens, takes your hand, and leads you out to the parking lot.

The drive to the restaurant is short. 20 minutes at most. Sae parks the car, steps out, thenΒ circles around the car to open the door for you, ever the gentleman.
"Watch your head" He says as you duck out. He takes your hand, fingers warm around yours, and leads you toward the restaurant.
Inside, the receptionist immediately recognizes Sae and greets you both. She checks the reservation at the monitor, grabs two menus, and starts leading you two to a private table by the window. You scan the area, only a few people occupy it, with tables far apart each other. It's good for privacy.
Sae pulls out your chair before sitting across from you. The waitress places the two menus down and leaves. You skim through the menu. They're all pricey, what did you even expect. Not that the price is relevant compared to Sae's salary - and all the more reason Sae spoils you without hesitation.
You look up from the menu and catch Sae staring at you. His expression is unreadable but his eyes are warm.
"What?" You ask, flustered.Β
"Nothing" he murmurs. His voice drops slightly, βYou look beautifulβ
You let out a spluttered sound, face heating up. Sae has always been bold and direct, far away from shy, but somehow his honesty still catches you off guard.Β
He observes your reaction and the corner of his mouth lifting into a knowing smirk.Β He smirks.Β He's clearly satisfied of your reaction.Β Oh the gall.
You school your facial expression and clear your throat, desperate to regain composure. "How is Girolan?" You ask, shifting the topic. You adore that sweet man, he's practically family. The apartment sure is lively whenever Girolan is there managing Sae's schedule - well mostly you and Girolan are lively.
"He's taking a week off"
"Well that's good. he must have been stressing when you suddenly wanted to rescehdule your flight" You give Sae a pointed look.
"It wasn't much, we took a private jet" Your boyfriend mutters, glowering. You lightly shook your head at this, smiling.
ββ
You're mid cutting your steak when Sae's phone suddenly buzzes on the table.
He glances at it.
His expression immediately darkens.
You immediately get worried of this, "What is it?" You reach for his hand on the table
Sae takes a pause. "Shidou"
Ah. You get worried for nothing. He's probably trolling Sae.
Sae turns his phone toward you. It's a picture of Shidou, tears streaming, holding a wet tissue dramatically. Below the picture, he texts,Β 'Alone in the airport Sae-chan'
You burst out laughing, and Sae deadpans. "I swear I'll block him"
"You don't mean that"
"I do"
"Sae, he's literally crying. Why didn't you take him with you?"
"I locked him in his room"
You laugh even harder.
Sae narrows his eyes. "He deserved it. Don't laugh too much. He'll think you like him"
"But I do like him"
His lips parted, scandalized. "Angel".Β There's a hint of disbelief and jealousy on his tone, but you catch the faint twitch at the corner of his mouth. He's trying not to smile. He always does this when you tease him, even if he pretends otherwise.Β
-ΛΛβββββββββββββββββββββ ββ ββ ββ ββ
You're walking back to the car when Sae's phone buzzes again. He checks it.Β You take a glance at his phone too, looking over his shoulder.
It's Shidou again. Another crying selfie. This time he's hugging an Itoshi Sae stuffed toy on his chest like a lifeline.Β
Below, he texts,Β 'I miss you Sae-chan'Β with crying emoji and heartbroken emojis.
Sae stops walking and stares at the screen. Then he exhales an irritated breath, and you see his eyebrow twitching. "I'm blocking him"
You laugh so hard you have to hold onto Sae's arms to support you. His irritated gaze flicks to you, his face softening as he watches you struggle to stop your laughter.Β
He shook his head, amused. He leans down and kisses your temple. "Let's go home"
"Can you ask Shidou where he got that plushie? I want one too"
Sae stops walking again and gives you a look so flat and unimpressed it could kill a man. "Don't start"
something about boy-next-door isagi. you both grow up together. kids at the playground together, pushing each other on the swings and racing to the slide together.
you were always a little smaller. a little slower.
he didnβt pay any mind. carrying along a box of band aids with his favourite superheros, tongue out as he carefully taped them over your bruised knees from the pavement.
boy-next-door isagi who crawls through your window at night. you both read books together. play video games. count sheep to sleep.
boy-next-door isagi who disappears for months and something in your chest feels displaced. unnaturally. it isnβt anything youβve known, though it shouldβve been. losing isagi shouldβve felt like losing a long-loved teddy bear or blanket, like a treasure known since childhood. isnβt that what he is? the neighbourβs sweet son you grew up beside. not a dream. not a fantasy of warmth pooling like a secret within you.
you see him again months and months after his disappearance. on television. friendly blue eyes slitted with a rage youβve never known, mouth shaping vulgarity youβve never heard.
boy-next-door isagi returns to you with a messy bundle of wildflowers scooped across the highway. clumsy, earnest.
βsorry,β he laughs, warmly. βfor being gone so long. itβs been a while, huh? missed you. up for a game?β
βsure.β
boy-next-door isagi, and all the relearnings he has to do when he finds the neighbourβs kid has grown up too, when he hadnβt been there to watch.

turns out, dry humping between matches without a single condom on deck is a risky game to play. because the moment you told him to fuck you raw, he was already reaching for his waistband.
βkeep it down,β he grunts into your ear, a large hand clasped over your mouth, βunless you want coach to find us like this.β
the cool wall feels electric against your cheek as saeβs dick pistons into you from behind, pulling out until youβre clenching around the fat tip before stuffing you full again. he watches it slip in and out of you, the sound obscenely loud and echoing in the cramped storage room along with your stifled whimpers.
your fingers scramble for something to hold ontoβanything to steady yourself as he hikes a leg up and forces himself deeperβinstead youβre met with nothing but a flat wall.
βfuck, y/n. you like the thought of getting caught that much?β
itβs a bliss heβs never experienced beforeβthe tight hug of your walls without an added layer of latex. he imagines, for a second, how youβll look with his cum oozing down your legs, flooding your insides, and he canβt wait until youβre back in the privacy of your own home.
michael kaiser β
just the tip, is what you both agreed on before you were pathetically begging for more, your hips bucking to be filled.
and kaiserβas disciplined as he was on the fieldβwas still a victim to your soft pleas, so donβt blame him for caving, the mattress dipping as he slides the rest of the way in. you can barely form a coherent thought with how good heβs fucking you, the headboard tapping against the wall with each drawn out thrust.
βlook at how good youβre taking me, liebling,β he growls, pressing your legs to your chest until he can see the rounded globes of your ass. kaiser lands a sharp smack on it, smirking when the sudden sting makes you clench around him harder. βals wΓ€rst du dafΓΌr geschaffen.β (like you were made for it.)
his eyes flick up to your lewd expression before sliding back down your body, transfixed by the way you swallow him whole, taking every inch like youβd planned this from the very start.
who knows? maybe you did. either way, youβre not leaving until heβs had his fill.
shidou ryusei β
with shidou, you didnβt have to do much convincing. the question barely had time to leave your tongue before he was pouncing on you.
deadass almost nut the moment his tip notches against your entrance, half-lidded eyes rolling back in pure ecstasy. the low groan that escapes him is downright sinful, and you have to remind him that he isnβt even fully inside yet.
βyouβre a genius,β he murmurs again and again, lips latching onto the curve of your shoulder, βshoulda ditched those damn things a long time ago.β
the pillow under your hips allows his cock to reach depths you didn't even know was possible. he can feel every twitch of your inner muscles, the way you flutter around his dick when he rams into a particularly sensitive spot, and it was driving him insane.
his thrusts are sloppy, each one knocking the wind out of you as you grasp at the damp, tear-stained sheets for dear life. shidou doesnβt last a second before heβs spurting hot liquid into your tight hole. you shudder, expecting him to slow down after finishing, only for him to flip you over into missionary.
βthought i was done?β he grins, sinking back in. this was your idea, after all. isnβt it only right for you to honor it until the end?

the school trip youβve been anticipating is finally here. β’ part 1
you canβt help but feel all giddy getting on the train, your smile proudly showing all thirty-two of your teeth. you donβt waste a second to get to the window seat.
it takes about 4 hours to get to the destination, so of course you brought your snacks, blanket, and ipad with you. you couldnβt care less for who you were gonna be seated withβthis is a perfect opportunity for some alone time.
what you didnβt expect is that the itoshi rin would be the one sitting next to you. oh my gosh. okay. greatβ¦ now how would you get some alone time without getting distracted by his presence?
suddenly youβre aware of whatever youβre doingβevery little movement you make has you wondering, βwhat if he thinks iβm weird?β
but letβs be honest, he doesnβt care and probably wonβt even look your way. somehow thatβs even worse than him seeing the chinese guys dancing on your own for you page. (ifykyk)
embarrassment is just a concept anyway. and so what if the guy youβve been admiring for years thinks youβre a bit strange?
itβs been 2 hours. youβve eaten every single snack you packed while binge watching a 12-episode series. yes, youβve also already taken a bunch of pictures of the beautiful sceneries by the window. how come youβve already run out of activities to do?
although you do feel a bit tired, hence why sleeping sounds real nice right now. just the right temperature of coldness lures you into dozing off.
you let yourself drift away from any more thoughts thatβll consume your head, pulling your blanket up higher to your body for warmth, before finally shutting your eyes.
you wake up and open your eyes, slowly gaining consciousness of where your head is comfortably laying on. uh oh. you let your guard down for a few hours and something embarrassing already happens.
that doesnβt seem to be all. you feel something heavy weighing your head down from the side.
β¦seems like rinβs leaning on you, too.
raising your head slightly to look at him, you were taken aback by how heβs also sleepingβpeacefully, even. damn. this is 100x better than what you had wished for to happen.
βmm..β
oops. the shift in your position mustβve woken him up a bit. still asleep though.
how did he even end up like this?
is he okay with this??? am i dreaming???
your heart is racing so fast you swear itβs jumping out of your body with every beat.
you stare for a little longer, admiring his features. noticing how close you two are, you take in the fact that you can feel each slow rise of his steady breathing, in and out. because really, when are you gonna have another chance like this again?
the rin you know usually has a scowl on his face, scrunched eyebrows paired with his sharp, piercing gaze, all the time.
but now, without those creases on his face? he looks even more mesmerizing, like he fell from heaven twice.
if only you could stay like this forever. however, all good things come to an end. you wouldnβt wanna be called a creep. if his fans saw this, you would have never seen the light of day ever again.
and so you finally retract your head from his shoulders, slowly, afraid that youβll wake him up. you take one glance at himβgood, heβs still deep asleep.
oh the price you would pay to wake up to this everydayβ¦

youβve got a little crush on itoshi rin.
to be honest, who doesnβt? almost all of the students adore him, even the most popular ones in your school, mostly because of his charming looks and breathtaking soccer skills.
you werenβt any special or different from your schoolmates. so you never really stood a chance with himβ¦ or so you thought?
after thinking for a while, no, you really did not stand a chance.
the first interaction you ever had with itoshi rin is when you were in the library. you were reaching for a book that was (un)fortunately on the highest shelf possible. who even approved of this?
looking around for any help, you spot rin on a table near you, with some of his friends. you remember that heβs incrediblyyy tall. great timing. nowβs your chance, Y/N!
you suddenly straighten your posture. βrin, youβre tall, right?β he averts his gaze from his laptop to you. βcould you help me get a book up there?β you point up there on the shelf.
he hums. you assume thatβs a yes since he gets out of his seat and walks toward you. heβs so close that you could smell his perfume. though not too close, of course. he knows his boundaries.
right when he was about to reach for itβ
some random boy does it for you instead. βhere it is!β
oh wow, he looks like a creepβ¦ βohβ¦yeahβ¦thanksβ¦β you take it from his hands.
this isnβt even the right book???
βthe names nendou by the way, hereβs my number call me if you ever need help again!β he gives you a thumbs up and a crumpled up paper with bubblegum stuck to it before running away. umm, okay, it says:
βthis was a dare given by one of my buddies! here is my number anyway: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx ;)β
you tried so hard to keep your composure. why right now out of all times?
you look over to rin, only to see that heβs back in his seat doing his work. with airpods in this time. thatβs kinda offending, you think. he better be thankful heβs sooo hot and all.
what a missed opportunity. you canβt help but feel so embarrassed when you werenβt even the one who embarrassed yourself.
maybe next time youβll get his attentionβ¦β¦.. and not some randoβ¦β¦β¦β¦.

You looked down at your watch.
17:05.
Time sure flies when you're reading classic literature.
Before you knew it, you'd been tucked away in the library for nearly three hours. You'd gotten out of class early and decided to spend the afternoon reading, figuring you may as well make the most of being on campus before heading back to your dorm.
You honestly thought you'd be sick of books by now.
After writing three essays and reading ten articles this week, you should've been completely nauseous at the sight of another page. But somehow, reading felt different when it was your choice. Without deadlines or professors looming over your shoulders, it reminded you why you'd fallen in love with literature in the first place.
Truthfully, you didn't spend much time in your room during the day.
Not because you didn't like it, but because it was simply too far away.
The student accommodation sat tucked behind the university, far enough that walking back between classes always felt like more effort than it was worth. If you went home, you'd only have to turn around and make the same trek back again, so instead, you'd fallen into the habit of staying on campus until your day was over.
It helped that there was always somewhere to be.
If you weren't in the library, you were tucked into a quiet corner of a cafΓ©, wandering through a bookstore, or sitting beneath one of the trees with a book in your lap. Campus always seemed to have a gentle buzz about it; conversations drifting through open courtyards, coffee machines humming, students rushing between lectures. It made the hours between classes pass surprisingly quickly.
Besides, your dorm wasn't going anywhere.
You loved your little ensuite. It was cosy, filled with overflowing bookshelves, plants you'd somehow managed to keep alive, and little trinkets you'd collected from holidays and thrift shops over the years.
Most evenings, your friends wandered in and out as if the hallway belonged to all of you. Someone was always knocking on a door to borrow something, invite everyone over for dinner, or convince the others to watch a movie. Your favourite nights were the spontaneous sleepovers that somehow ended with too many snacks, too many blankets, and far too little sleep.
Lately, though, the hall had been quieter than usual.
With the semester break only a week away, most of your friends were either already packing to go home or talking excitedly about family trips. Soon enough, the hallway would be almost empty.
You carefully tucked your bookmark between the pages before slipping the book back into your bag.
It was getting late, and the walk back to your dorm was still a long one.
Fortunately, the campus cafΓ© happened to be on the way.
A warm drink sounded like the perfect companion for the walk home.

Practice was cancelled today.
Sae sat on his couch, his shoes already on, his things in his bag, and his phone in his hands as he read the message from his coach again.
Football club β½
-Coach- Practice is cancelled today. Don't come. π 6 π1 π2
He read it again, then he read his teammates replies.
-Bachira- THANK YOU COACH I LOVE YOU SO MUCHπππ
-Rin- Why?
-Coach- Just rest Rin. π1
-Shidou- LETS GOOOOOO
-Kunigami- Understood. I'll use the day well.
-Isagi- Okay. Actually, can i get the footage from our last match?
-Coach- No. π1
Sae didn't bother replying. He shut his phone and just stared into space. Practice was never cancelled, it'd always either be moved earlier or later, but never cancelled.
Sae didn't know what to do for a while before getting up and changing into more casual clothes. He came back into the living room and sat back down on his couch.
He tried to get comfortable but he couldn't. Truth be told he was almost never home, he never truly sat on his couch and relaxed; he's pretty sure he's actually never even used his TV other than when he was watching football. His apartment was filled with furniture and things he never used, they were all for show, really.
5PM to 8PM on Mondays through Fridays had always been taken up by practice. He never really had this time to himself.
He thought about going to practice by himself anyway.
He immediately stopped himself, he practiced enough already, surely one day of rest couldn't be that bad? Plus, he went to the gym this morning, so he already got his workout in today.
He glanced at his bookcase.
Maybe he could read.
He walked over and grabbed the book he borrowed recently.
He then made his way to his fridge, he opened the fridge door. A few bottles of water sat neatly on the shelf. A carton of milk, some fruit, and containers of food he'd bought days ago but never touched.
Everything was organised, but nothing looked appealing.
He stared for a moment.
He couldn't remember the last time he'd actually eaten at home, let alone cook.
The fridge was full enough, at least, it should've been enough. But standing alone in his kitchen, staring at the neatly organised shelves, Sae realised he didn't actually want to eat.
He wanted something else.
He just wasn't sure what.
...
Coffee.
Yeah, coffee.
Sae always had something to drink when he was reading. Sometimes coffee, mostly tea, but tonight Sae was craving coffee. He opened his drawers, no coffee. He opened his cupboards, no coffee.
Of course.
The one time he actually wanted to drink coffee and it was nowhere to be found. He could just make tea, but he really wasn't craving tea at the moment.
He just thinks that coffee would be nice, that's all.
It wasn't like he was going out because he didn't want to sit alone in his apartment right now.
He grabbed his jacket, keys and left out the door. Before coming back in and grabbing his forgotten book. He couldn't really read without his book, could he?
He left his apartment, locked the door behind him and made his way to the cafe near the university. Gripping his book tighter as he walked.
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
You had just arrived at the cafe, standing in line while debating between getting a latte or a cup of tea. The cafe was busier than usual, filled with the quiet chatter of students and the occasional sound of cups being placed on the counter. You glanced up at the menu one last time, still unable to decide.
Then the chime above the cafe door rang.
You looked up.
Sae Itoshi.
You looked back toward the menu, shrugging to yourself before freezing and doing a double take.
Sae Itoshi?
What was he doing here?
If you had a nickel for every time you saw Sae Itoshi this week, you would have two nickels. It wasn't much, but it was still strange that it happened twice in the same week.
You had gone nearly two years without ever running into him. Now you'd seen him twice, both times in places you regularly went to.
Huh.
You shook the thought away. Maybe you were reading too much into it. It wasn't unusual to bump into other students on campus. Sure, not many of them happened to be the university's star midfielder, but still. You didn't own the cafe, he was allowed to be here.
Besides, he probably hadn't even noticed you. To him, you were probably just another face in the crowd.
Sae joined the line beside you, waiting patiently for the person in front of him to finish ordering. You glanced over briefly, only to quickly look away again.
He's taller up close.
"Miss?"
The cashier's voice pulled you out of your thoughts. You looked up and immediately realized there was no one in front of you anymore.
It was your turn.
You glanced toward the other register and noticed Sae was already standing at the counter.
The line had moved.
Heat rushed to your face as you realized you'd been standing there long enough for the cashier to call you twice. You quickly stepped forward with an apologetic smile.
"Sorry." You mumbled before glancing up at the menu again.
"Can I please get a large latte, to go?"
"One large iced Americano."
Both cashiers paused.
They turned to look at each other, their expressions becoming slightly panicked as they glanced toward the coffee machine.
"Umβ¦" Your cashier started.
The other cashier gave an awkward smile. "We only have enough espresso left for one more coffeeβ¦"
"Oh."
You looked over at Sae before giving him a polite smile.
"That's alright," you said, gesturing toward him. "You can have it."
Sae immediately looked over.
"No." He refused. "It's fine. You ordered first."
You shook your head.
"Honestly, tea is probably the better choice for me this late anyway." You laughed softly. "I was debating between the two."
Before he could reply, you turned back toward the cashier.
"One Earl Grey tea, please."
The cashier looked relieved as she changed your order.
"Thanksβ¦" Sae said.
You turned back toward Sae. "No problem." You gave him another small smile. You and Sae paid your respective orders, saying a soft "thank you" to your cashiers before moving out of the line.
"You really didn't have to." Sae spoke up, standing next to you as you guys moved. "I owe you a coffee."
You laughed lightly and waved him off. "Really, it's fine."
Sae looked unconvinced, but didn't say anything.
The two of you moved toward the pickup counter, waiting for your drinks. You looked around the cafe, taking in the familiar surroundings while you waited. Your eyes wandered over the shelves, the decorations, and the students sitting nearby before eventually landing on the book tucked beneath Sae's arm.
"That's a classic." You gestured towards the book, moving to face him a little bit.
Sae glanced down at the book in his hand.
"Yeah." He agreed, nodding and shifting to face you slightly
You nod your head toward it. "I've read that before."
His eyes shifted toward you. "You have?"
"Yeah." You smiled slightly. "I actually hated it at first."
Sae looked at you, seemingly a little more interested than before.
"Why?"
You laughed softly. "Because everyone told me I was supposed to love it."
Sae stayed quiet, waiting for you to continue.
"Turns out I just didn't like being told what to think." You shrugged. "I think I ended up appreciating it more once I stopped trying to force myself to like it."
A small hum left him. "Fair."
It wasn't much, but it was the first time his response felt less like a simple answer and more like he was actually participating in the conversation.
You smiled slightly.
"What about you? Did you like it?" You asked him.
Sae looked back down at the book. "I actually haven't finished it yet." He paused for a moment. "I'm planning to, soon."
"You should." You smiled, turning to face the counter before turning back to him. "I'm Y/N, by the way" You referred to yourself.
"Sae."
Your drinks were called before the conversation could continue, and both of you stepped forward to grab them. You turned back to him after picking up your tea.
"I know." You said simply.
Sae Looked at you, his face looked a little confused.
You laughed lightly before continuing. "It's kind of impossible not to know you, I mean, you're practically the school's mascot at this point."
"Oh... right." Sae nodded.
"I didn't think you'd read things like that." You added, turning the conversation back to the book. You looked up and made eye contact with him.
"Why?"
You laughed awkwardly. "I don't knowβ¦" You glanced down at your tea. "I guess I just assumed football players didn't spend their free time reading poetry."
There was a brief pause.
"People assume a lot." He said, his mundane voice showed that he was used to it and wasn't particularly upset.
You winced, scolding yourself in your mind for voicing your thoughts out loud. "Sorry."
"It's fine." He dismissed, and somehow that was enough.
The conversation continued naturally. You weren't really sure how, but it did.
At first, Sae's replies were short and polite. He answered your questions, but he didn't offer much more than necessary. However, the longer you talked, the more his responses started to change. A few words became sentences. Simple answers turned into actual opinions.
Before either of you noticed, you had moved past talking about one book and started discussing everything from authors you liked, books you disliked, and stories that had stuck with you long after you finished reading them.
You talked more than he did, but Sae listened. And when he did speak, you found yourself paying attention because every now and then, he would say something that made you realize he had thought about it more than he let on.
At some point, neither of you noticed that you had slowly drifted away from the pickup counter and toward the seating area. You were in the middle of explaining why one of your favorite books had completely changed the way you viewed stories when Sae suddenly stopped.
You looked over at him.
Without interrupting you, he pulled out one of the chairs at an empty table and gestured toward it.
"Sit."
A small laugh escaped you before you sat down. Sae took the seat across from you, and somehow the conversation continued as if nothing had changed.
"You sure know a lot about books." He said at one point.
"Yeah," you chuckled. "I study literature here."
"Oh, that makes sense." He stated, nodding as if that answered all of his questions. "You looked familiar, I think I saw you in the library the other day." Sae admitted.
You paused, slightly shocked that, one, he noticed you in the library, and two, that he remembered you.
"Really? I saw you too." You agreed, slightly shocked.
He didn't say anything after that, waiting for you to continue the conversation.
"Wow, I'm kind of surprised you remembered me." You smiled sheepishly.
"I'm good with faces." He shrugged. Truthfully, he really wasn't, but you had caught his attention the other day, although he would never admit it to anyone out loud. He can be good with faces, but only if the person piques his interest.
"Is that so?" You grinned slightly. "Wow, with all the people you have to interact with, I find that very hard to believe."
"I actually think it's easier for me to remember faces because I have to interact with so many people." There was some truth to this, he found that his memory regarding other people greatly improved since he's had to socialize so much.
"I suppose..." You looked at him for a beat. He was easier to talk to than you thought. "You are full of surprises, Sae Itoshi. What are you going to tell me next?"
"I cook." He confessed, his lips tugged upwards, just slightly, at the shocked look on your face.
You blinked at him.
"You do?"
He gave a small nod back at you.
Cooking wasn't something he brought up often. Not because he disliked it, but because most people reacted the same way whenever they found out.
They would ask him to cook for them, and he never really felt too comfortable cooking for other people. He only ever cooked for himself or his loved ones, and even that was pushing it. But he still enjoyed the fact that people were always slightly shocked to learn he could cook.
Though, he hadn't really been cooking much recently.
He knew how. He had learned because he had to, and because his mum said it was an important life skill. Living alone meant taking care of himself, and cooking was just another thing he had to add to the list. Over time, he found himself actually enjoying it.
But somewhere along the way, it had become less of something he enjoyed and more of something he did when he remembered he needed to eat.
"Well, there goes another assumption." You shook your head, leaning back further into your chair.
"People make a lot of them." He repeated his earlier sentiment.
"Guilty." You laughed to yourself. A small smile lingered on your face before you looked back at him. "So... what do you cook?"
"Whatever's convenient."
You laughed whilst talking. "That tells me absolutely nothing."
Sae thought to himself for a moment. "Pasta. Curry. Soup." He lists.
"Those are proper meals." You looked at him in mock disbelief. "Okay⦠maybe you really can cook."
"Thank you." He said, wholeheartedly. "Do you cook?" He asked you instead.
You made a face, "not unless you call burning toast 'cooking.'"
That got a small chuckle out of Sae.
You blinked.
"You just laughed at me," you smiled. "This whole time, you had kept a straight face, but my cullinary disaster is what gets you?" You scoffed, amused.
He has a nice laugh.
He straightens his face, looking back at you with his usual stoic expression. "I don't know what you're talking about."
You laughed at his quick switch-up. "All jokes aside though, I really can't cook." You shook your head. "I love to bake though." You sat up straighter and grinned at him.
"Bake?"
You nodded enthusiastically. "Cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls..." You smiled sheepishly. "I have a habit of making too much."
"How much is 'too much'?"
"Enough to feed a small village."
Another quiet laugh escaped Sae despite himself.
"What?" You giggled.
"Nothing."
"You're laughing at me again." You accused, making a faux pointed look at him.
"A little."
You narrowed your eyes at him dramatically before smiling and continuing. "I usually end up giving most of it away anyway."
"To your friends?"
"Friends, classmates..." You shrugged. "Whoever happens to be nearby."
"You don't keep any?"
"Some." You smiled. "But I think baked goods taste better when you share them."
Sae paused for a moment, he smiled slightly at the thought. Food really does taste better when you're sharing it with someone you care about. He remembered all the times he had cooked for his family, he'd pretended to be upset when they asked him to cook for them, but he always did it anyway.
The conversation kept flowing from there, you'd told him what book you were currently reading, and how you were planning on finishing it that night, even though you should probably focus on finishing your assignments instead. He'd told you what he thought about the book, having read it before.
Somewhere along the way, you had admitted that you had never really been a fan of football, calling it "overrated" just to try and ruffle his feathers. He stayed calm and explained to you that it was "a game that brought people together," and that it was absolute insanity that you didn't understand the hype. You bantered on the effects of propaganda - mostly sports - the both of you agreeing to disagree.
Neither of you noticed how much time had passed.
Your tea sat untouched in front of you, the warmth long gone. Sae's coffee was the same, the ice having melted and the drink looking much lighter than it did when he first received it.
Neither of you cared.
You were too absorbed in the conversation.
Eventually though, a waitress approached your table with an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry to interrupt... but we're closing."
Both of you looked around the cafe. It was practically empty. The only people left were the two of you and the staff cleaning up around you.
You immediately stood up. "I'm so sorry. We must've lost track of time."
Sae stood as well, glancing around before nodding. "Yeah. We'll leave."
The two of you thanked the staff before stepping outside.
The cold evening air hit you immediately, and you pulled your jacket tighter around yourself, regretting your choice of attire. You glanced down at your watch, surprised by the time.
"Wow⦠we were here for almost two hours." you said in disbelief.
It sure didn't feel like two hours.
"Were we?"
You laughed. "Yeah."
You looked down at your tea, your hands wrapped around the cup in search of warmth, even though the drink had already gone cold.
You looked up at Sae. "Anyway, I should probably head back." You'd went to the cafe for a quick drink to-go, and ended up spending two hours talking to Sae instead.
"Oh." Sae paused before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone. "Your number."
You tilted your head.
"β¦My number?"
He held his phone out toward you. "So I can pay you back for the coffee next time."
You stared at him for a second before laughing. "You were serious about that?"
"Yes."
Of course he was.
You smiled.
He was even more straightforward than you thought he'd be.
"Okay, I guess." you chuckled. You took his phone and typed your number in before handing it back.
"I'll see you around then." You looked up at him. "It was nice meeting you, Sae."
"β¦Yeah."
You smiled before waving at him and turning to walk back toward your dorm.
Sae stood there for a moment, watching you leave before finally turning and making his own way back to his apartment.
For some reason, the coffee he'd gone out to get was no longer the thing he remembered most about the evening.
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
The apartment was quiet when Sae walked in.
It always was.
Sae slipped his keys onto the kitchen counter before setting the book he'd borrowed from the library on the coffee table. His coffee cup found its place beside it, still mostly full. Somewhere between discussing books and losing track of time, he'd forgotten to drink it.
He loosened his jacket, sat down on the couch, and let out a slow breath.
His eyes drifted back to the book.
For a while, he simply stared at it.
He'd gone to the cafe intending to spend the evening reading. Instead, he'd spent nearly two hours talking to someone he'd only just met.
Strange.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Your contact sat near the top of his recent additions. His thumb hovered over your name for a moment before he tapped it.
The empty message box stared back at him.
He frowned.
It shouldn't have been difficult.
He'd texted teammates, coaches, and managers hundreds of times before. This wasn't any different; plus he had just spent two hours talking to you, granted you did most of the talking, but still.
He typed a message.
It's Sae, did you get home?
He looked at it for a second before deleting it.
He tried again.
It's Sae, thanks for today.
Deleted.
He rested his elbow against the arm of the couch, staring at the blank screen with mild annoyance.
Why was he thinking about it so much?
He'd had a conversation with you for longer than he's had one with anyobody in a long time.
Somehow, somewhere between books, baking and banter, he'd even admitted that he cooked.
That was unusual.
He rarely told people things like that. Not because it was a secret, but because conversations rarely drifted that far. Most of the people in his life knew him through football, and football had a habit of becoming the only thing anyone wanted to talk to him about.
You hadn't.
He frowned slightly.
It had been a while since he'd met someone he could simply... talk to.
He wasn't entirely sure what people texted each other about when it wasn't training schedules, match footage, or reminding someone what time practice started.
His thumb hovered over his phone for a moment.
He shook his head.
Maybe his teammates' constant jokes about him having no social life were finally getting to him.
Idiots.
It was just a text. He told himself.
After another minute, he finally typed the same message he'd started with.
It's Sae, did you get home?
He read it over once.
Simple.
Normal.
He pressed send before he had the chance to change his mind.
The message delivered almost instantly.
Sae set his phone down on the coffee table and reached for his book.
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
You had just arrived at your dorm. You set your things down and plopped onto your bed.
You should really get a head start on the assignments your professors had given you for the break. You knew the longer you waited, the more chances you had of accidentally procrastinating and leaving everything for the last minute.
You sat up with a tired groan. The sooner you finished everything, the sooner you could actually enjoy your two weeks off. You were already the only one of your friends staying on campus the next couple of weeks, so the last thing you wanted was to spend it stressing over assignments.
You took off your jacket and changed into more comfortable clothes, and prepared to complete your work. You sat down at your desk and reached for your pen.
Buzz!
Your phone buzzed on the table, you picked it up to check your notification.
Unknown number.
You could guess who it was before you even opened it.
-Unknown number- It's Sae, did you get home?
You smiled before saving his contact and replying.
-You- Yeah, I did. Did you?
Sae's reply came a few moments after that.
-Sae- Yeah.
-You- That's good.
You set your phone back down and went back to work. After about five minutes, your phone buzzed again
-Sae- What are you doing?
You blinked before replying.
-You- Trying to get ahead on my assignments before break.
A moment passed before another message came in.
-Sae- Smart.
You smiled to yourself. Somehow, his texting style was exactly how you'd imagined it would be.
You ended up asking him what he was doing.
He told you he'd been reading.
You asked what book.
He told you.
You told him he'd have to let you know what he thought once he finished it.
He agreed.
The conversation drifted from there.
Books became authors, authors became favourite genres, and favourite genres somehow became conversations about the kinds of stories that lingered long after the final page.
You found yourself alternating between highlighting your notes and replying to his messages. Neither of you sent particularly long texts, but somehow the conversation kept moving from one topic to another without either of you noticing.
Eventually, Sae circled the conversation back to the coffee.
-Sae- I still owe you a coffee.
You answered the message before going back to highlighting your notes.
-You- You really don't.
-Sae- I do.
You stared at the message for a second before shaking your head.
You should've known he would be stubborn.
-You- Fine. When were you thinking?
A typing bubble appeared almost immediately.
Then-
-Sae- When are you free?
You glanced over at the pile of work on your desk. You suppose you did have time tomorrow after class.
-You- I can do tomorrow.
-Sae- Same cafe.
-You- Sounds good :)
You set your phone back down, turning your attention back to the pile of work waiting for you. With that settled, you picked your pen back up and continued working.
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
Sae arrived at the cafe first.
He ordered a coffee for him, and one for you. He'd remembered your order from yesterday. He found a table near the window and waited there for you.
You entered the cafe and immediately spotted him. You waved and made your way over to him, sitting down in the seat across from him.
"Hey, Sae!" You said, placing your bag on the seat next to you. "Did you wait long?"
He shook his head. "No."
A waiter made his way to your table and placed down two coffees in front of the two of you. You thanked him and turned to Sae.
"You didn't have to order already." You said appologetically.
"I was here first." He shrugged.
"Still." You argued.
"I said I'd repay you." He stopped you from arguing further.
You smiled at that. "Thanks." You said as you took a sip of the coffee. You sighed into your drink. "I needed this."
Sae didn't reply, he simply looked at you.
"How was class?" He asked after a while.
You groaned, setting your cup down before dragging your hand over your face. "I hate schoolwork! I just wish the holidays would start already."
"Well, you only have a week left," He tried reassuring you. "Then you're home free."
"That's true..." You agreed. The both of you took a sip of your drinks before you spoke up. "Are you going home for the break?" You were curious on if he would be around or not for the holiday, mainly because everyone else you knew was going home.
He shook his head and set his cup down. "No."
"Me neither." You sighed into your coffee.
Sae looked at you for a moment.
"You don't usually go home?"
You shook your head. "It's too far for just a couple of week." You shrugged. You missed your family but you certainly did not miss the trip. "I'd spend half the break travelling."
He gave a small nod. "Makes sense."
"What about you?" you asked. "Just football?"
"Mostly."
"It must keep you busy." You never really paid much attention when your friends talked about the football team, but from what you've seen, it seems like some of them practice even during the holidays.
"It does."
You laughed softly. "I don't know how you manage football and university at the same time." You knew if you were a star of the uni's football team you would certainly be overwhelmed.
"You get used to it." He shrugged.
"I don't think I ever could." You smiled before taking another sip of your coffee. "I'm struggling with just my assignments."
Sae's gaze flickered toward your bag resting beside you.
"You brought work?"
You nodded dramatically before unzipping your bag and pulling out a stack of notebooks and readings.
"I was planning on doing some after this."
He looked down at the pile. "...That's a lot."
"Tell me about it." You sighed. "My professors apparently think a couple weeks off means they can assign double the work."
A quiet, amused scoff escaped him.
"I'm glad you find my suffering amusing." You groaned.
He looked at you with a blank face. "You'll survive."
You let out a dramatic sigh. "Forunately."
The two of you sat in a comfortable silence for a moment, each taking another sip of your coffee. The background noise of the cafe filling the silence between you.
Sae looked at you over the rim of his cup. "Did you make much progress?"
You let out another small groan, the reminder of your failure to finish your work yesterday flooding into your head. "A little."
He waited for you to keep talking.
"Not as much as I wanted to. though." You admitted. "I got distracted halfway through."
"By?"
You looked down at your coffee.
"So there was this video..." You started, leaning closer on the table. "This girl had baked the most perfect soft cookies!" You beamed. "It had the perfect texture and colour and everything! So... I started going through her account and saving every recipe she had." You sighed.
Sae blinked at you.
"What makes you like baking so much?" Sae asked, genuinely curious.
You stopped and thought for a second. "I guess because my family loved sweet treats? I was never really a fan of sweets until recently, but I was apparently really good at baking it, so I used to bake for them. A lot."
"That's kind of you."
"Yeah." You shrugged. "Oh! and also because, one time, I saw this recipe book in the library, and it was really cute and it had such pretty illustrations, I guess that's when I started baking." You smiled, looking back at Sae. "A good book could motivate me to do anything."
"I can see that." He nods. "Speaking of, did you finish the book you were planning to read?" He brought up what you said last night.
You nodded enthusiatcially. "Yeah! I did! You were right, it was amazing!" You leaned on the table. "What about you?" you asked. "Did you finish the one you were reading?"
"I did." He simply stated.
"And?" You pushed.
"It was good." He shrugged.
You stared at him. "...That's your review?" You made a face as if to say 'really?'
He looked back at you. "You wanted more?"
"I wanted at least a few more words." You laughed at his straight-forwardness.
He considered it for a second. "The ending was stronger than the beginning. The writing was alright compared to the author's other works, but other than that, it was okay."
"There we go." You pointed at him triumphantly. "See? That wasn't so hard."
He ignored the comment and instead asked you a question.
"What did you think of yours?"
"I loved it." You beamed. "The pacing dragged a little in the middle, but the ending completely made up for it."
He listened as you explained why, occasionally asking a question or offering a short opinion of his own.
You grinned at him slightly. "You actually have good taste."
"Of course," he scoffed, "did you think I have bad taste?" He joked, with his face still stoic, but there was a hint of teasing in his voice. Sae never made jokes, but for some reason, he found himself comfortable enough to joke with you.
Before long, the conversation drifted toward recommendations.
"You have to read this one." You pulled out your phone and searched for the title. "It's one of my favourites." You showed him your phone. You had always recommended this book to everyone, it was one of your favourites and it never disapoints.
Sae glanced at your screen before taking out his own phone.
You paused. "...Are you writing it down?"
"So I don't forget." he said, still typing on his phone.
A sense of pride filled you, as it always did when someone took your recommendations seriously. You placed a hand over your heart dramatically. "Aw, I'm honoured."
He looked up from his phone. "Why?"
"You actually took my recommendation."
"You recommended it." He shrugged, and slipped his phone back into his pocket.
You smiled and leaned on the table. "Your turn."
He made a questioning look.
You rolled your eyes and explained. "Recommend me something, it's only fair."
"Oh."
He named a novel you'd never heard of.
You immediately typed it into your own reading list.
His gaze flickered to your phone for a brief second before returning to his coffee.
You smiled.
"See? Now we're even."
You locked your phone and tucked it back into your bag.
"I'm sure they'll have it at my favourite bookstore." You smiled, leaning your elbows on the table
Sae looked at you.
"You have a favourite bookstore?"
"Oh, don't get me started."
"Please," he said, "I would definitely like to hear all about your favourite bookstore."
You gave him a slightly suspicious look. "...You sure?"
He gestured his hand towards you, as if to say 'go on.'
Your face instantly brightened, you scooched to the edge of your seat, smiling excitedly up at Sae. "Well basically, it's a bookstore, in an old cinema."
Sae raised a brow.
"It's a really well kept secret, and not many people know of the place." You thought for a second. "Well, really only literature students know about it, so you don't see many people there." You sighed happily before continuing. "It's so beautiful, and every week, they host movie nights."
"Really?"
"Yup. It's really the most amazing place, they have so many books there!" You gleamed. "We should go! During the break. It would be fun!"
Sae blinked, he looked at your smiling face, then smiled slightly himself.
"Sure."
"Great!" You smiled to yourself at the thought of going to the bookstore, you hadn't gone there in over a week, which was a long time for you. "To be honest, I'm kind of glad to have something planned over break. I really didn't want to just stay at my dorm." You admitted sheepishly.
"Why not?" Sae asked, his face as indifferent as ever, but his voice showed that he was actually interested in your answer.
"All my friends have gone home for the break, and everyone on my floor is leaving as soon as break starts, so i'm pretty much going to be alone." You slumped in your seat, just the reminder that you were going to be alone for two weeks already bringing you down.
Sae watched as your expression changed, a slight frown on your lips. You looked up at him, to find that he was already looking at you, you sat up instantly, making excuses. "I'm fine though, " you smiled, "what about you? do you have many plans for the break?"
He looked at you for a bit longer before replying. "Not really, we have practice sometimes but that's really it."
"Oh? Is everyone on the team staying?"
"Yeah, no one usually goes home during breaks, we still have our regular practice and stuff." He shrugs. "We all actually live in the same apartment building too."
"Really?"
He nodded. "The club organised it."
"That's actually really nice." You giggled. "You all get to see each other even outside of practice."
"Sometimes a little too much."
You laughed softly. "Must be great for the team bonding, huh?" You teased, and Sae rolled his eyes. "Still..." You looked down at your coffee, your laughter subsiding. "It must be nice having people around."
A quiet silence settled between the two of you.
Sae watched you for a moment before speaking again. "...Campus won't be completely empty."
You looked back up at him.
"There'll still be people around." He added.
You gave a small nod. "I guess."
He paused, as if thinking through his next words. "...And we're both staying."
It was such a simple statement that it took you a second to understand what he meant.
Then you smiled. "I guess we are."
"Besides," he said matter-of-factly, "you wanted to go to the bookstore."
A grin immediately spread across your face.
"I did!"
"...So we'll go."
You laughed, feeling strangely warm inside.
"Yeah." You nodded. "We will."
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
You found yourself smiling on your walk back to your dorm. When you arrived on your floor, you walked past your friend, Mae, packing her things with her door open.
"Hey!" You greeted her, a bright smile on your face.
"Hey." She looked up at you from where she was, crouched over her bag on the floor. She looked at your face, "you seem to be in a good mood."
"Yup." You popped the 'p', swaying slightly on your toes, you were too happy to be staying still. The fact that you actually had plans for the break was brightening your mood up significantly.
"And why is that?" She asked, smirking up at you, amused, as she shoved something in her bag and stood up. She looked at you up and down, still swaying on your toes. You didn't answer her for a moment, you just smiled. "Seriously, what's up? I thought you were devastated that you were going to be alone for the break."
You sighed happily. "Well, I won't be totally alone after all. I just made plans with someone."
She smirked even wider. "And who might that be?"
"A new friend I made." Your friend raised her eyebrows at you, clearly asking for more. You laughed as you looked at her face, "it doesn't matter, I'm just happy I have a friend to hang out with." You hummed, turning around and walking to your room with a slight spring in your step, your friend stood standing at her doorway, watching you walk away, a smile still on her face as she shook her head slightly.
"As long as your happy..." She smiled, going back to packing her things.
You closed the door behind you and practically collapsed onto your bed. You stared up at the ceiling, a smile slowly spreading across your face.
Maybe spending break on campus wouldn't be so bad after all.
You were just happy to have someone to share the quiet days with.
ββββββββΰ¨ΰ§ββββββββ
It was only supposed to be a cup of coffee.
Somehow...
It became something neither of you wanted to end.
