the reason this might almost crash your tumblr is because there's a bunch of zero-width spaces between the two brackets. like, 4094 of them (because there's a 4096 character limit per paragraph on tumblr, so you can only have that many between two brackets in a single paragraph) that your device is still rendering despite them being 'invisible'.

American Cheese is a processed cheese made of Cheddar, Colby, or similar, combined with Sodium citrate. The Sodium citrate keeps the cheese fats from separating during the pasteurization process.

The patent for processing American Cheese was granted in 1916 to James L. Kraft, a Canadian of German descent who had immigrated to the US in 1904. Pasteurizing the cheese prevents it from spoiling, allowing it to be shipped farther and stored longer. It was actually WW1 that gave Kraft (and his company) their big break, as the US government provided cheese (in tins) to the armed forces abroad.

So no, Project Paperclip here, although the US Armed Forces and Germans were involved. His ancestors left Germany for Mennonite reasons, not because they were Nazis.

Fun fact: His parents spelled their last name "Krafft". He dropped one of the Fs when he started J.L. Kraft & Bros. Company, which later became Kraft Foods.

Instead of a cutesie reference to film censorship it was an explicit statement of defiance of Maryland's criminalization gay sex, which was not repealed until 2002. This wasn't a guy saying "Oh they can't put what I do in the movies according to a completely voluntary industry code" he was saying "The State of Maryland wants to put me in jail for being gay and having gay sex."

Bradie is such a sweet boy! While all his siblings have found their homes, Bradie is still waiting patiently for his perfect match. He is a bit tentative with other kitties & becomes nervous & scared at adoption events, which means he doesn't get the same opportunities to meet potential adopters. But Bradie is just as amazing as our other kitties! Bradie's personality shines once he feels comfortable. He loves feather toys, playing fetch, & zooming around during playtime. Afterward, he is a total cuddle bug who adores love & pets from his human. Since he does get nervous around new cats he doesn't know, Bradie needs to be slowly introduced to any other pets in the home. He would also thrive as a solo kitty as long as he gets plenty of human interaction. We are seeking an adoptive family who can give Bradie the time he needs to adjust & thrive in a new environment.
