it’s about the people who are in an ethnic minority in a country and how they feel about the ethnic majority using their culture

“how come white people can do this thing from my native culture and get praised for being so cultured cool, when the people in an ethnic minority can’t participate in that culture without being criticized for not assimilating enough”

The Kimono industry is dying, and needs foreign support to sustain itself. Kimono makers actively welcome and encourage people to wear, incorporate and modify kimonos to keep the art alive and thriving. If all you do is shut down foreigners for incorporating these cultures being crushed by western culture, it makes the issue worse. Now no one gets that thing, the market for it shrinks, and the people making it lose more work and have to move on to other things.

You have to make sure you actively support and encourage people who want to embrace and represent their heritage. Make a society where everyone has this privilege that white people do.
