    [  “Fair enough. Celebrating for the sake of celebrating is always great,” he replied with a peace sign. But his face blanked slightly, “Butter? What’s that? I have no idea what that is? Is it a song? Or a game?” he asked, feeling out of touch with things. Not for the first time. “I’m always having fun,” he laughed, giving a shrug.

“I honestly love celebrating for the sake of celebrating. It’s like...one of the best things ever. Like...celebrating life and how--even though it’s a rollercoaster, every twist and turn is thrilling,” Trixie chimed in excitedly with a grin. “Butter’s a song by this band called BTS and they’re like...suuuper popular and they’re pretty cute too, but I’m biased on that end, but the song’s pretty great!” She practically rambled out in one breath to the man in front of her. “I love that take! Always having fun!” 

“How could you tell?” he asked, accepting the drink from Trixie. He remembered meeting her in a store– though he couldn’t remember which store it was– and that she was sweet and spoke to him in Korean. He didn’t know anyone else here aside from the coworker who ditched him for drinks, so he was essentially clinging to Trixie like a lost puppy 

“You’re about as stiff as a board while everyone else is moving around you...I don’t mean that in a bad way, but you look like a deer caught in headlights,” Trixie admitted with a sheepish grin. “Did you wanna come grab a cupcake with me? At least then, y’know, you’d have a familiar face to hang around with?”

    [  Lennon’s gaze followed the direction Trixie pointed in . “She seems lovely,” she replied about Maya. When she listened to Trixie talk about the other party-goers, however, Lennon couldn’t help but sort of grimace. “I would love to,” she stated with an eager nod. “I kind of feel out of my limit here,” Len quietly admitted. But the last thing she wanted to do right now was call her brother.

“Oh, she’s pretty great!--But a super social butterfly and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with her,” Trixie admitted with a sheepish grin. “Between us two gals,” she began, lowering her voice, “I feel the same way. You know...” The blonde tapped her chin and looked around. “We could always grab snacks and drinks from the kitchen and hang out in that little secluded corner over there and people watch. It’s what I do sometimes at parties when my social battery’s draining.”

“You see that girl over there with the curly lion mane? Her name’s Maya. She dragged me here,” Trixie pointed out with a sigh. “But it’s okay, I still love her, but she didn’t want to go alone but this party is...wild. I saw someone drinking with a dollar bill with their nose covered in...well you know,” She sighed, shaking her head and then handed a pretzel bite to the other blonde. “We can commiserate together?” 

“I have no idea what we’re celebrating, if I’m being honest,” Trixie giggled, shaking her head. “All I know is the food is really good and the DJ promised me that they’d play Butter as soon as this song ends, which I’m really excited for. No shame in my game!” She rambled excitedly, which was a typical Trixie habit, of course. “Are you having fun?” 

     “Having a birthday this year landing on a sunday wasn’t so bad, although my parents being on a cruise sucked because I didn’t even get an invite,” Gracie laughed, “maybe a cruise trip is in my near future or as my sister claims, a singles cruise.” 

“But!! On the bright side you had the bestest birthday ever!” Trixie grinned excitedly. “Where’d your parents go by the way? Maybe I could look into singles cruises and see if there’s one with like a similar destination? By the wayyyy, have you seen Maya? She completely disappeared!” 

"Math! Especially Geometry!" Trixie beamed excitedly. "My teacher got to use these cool neon shapes for the overhead and I was always the first to volunteer and people thought I was a nerd for it, but I just really like math! I think it'll be super duper useful for the future!"

“Okay, but for real - What is in this?!” She exclaimed after having sniffed the jamjar that had been given to her. She scrunched her nose in slight disgust. “It smells horrible, and I am fairly sure it tastes horrible too!” She added, bringing it up to her lips only to take a small sip. Couching as she pulled it away. “This is horrible! Want to try it?”

Trixie looked at the jar that Verity had in her hands for a moment and her eyes widened. “Oh!! That’s kombucha!” She pointed out with a grin and then made a face at the offer. “Nonono, I’m definitely good without it. I wonder who put it next to the mason jar lemonade...” She shook her head and then grabbed another jar and took a quick whiff. Luckily, it smelled like lemonade. “Here, this is the lemonade that I brought, it’s mason jar boozy lemonade and it’s sooo good!”
