“I didn’t even know that was possible. I usually prefer to just drink my beer without putting on a show though,” he grinned. Of course, Daniel didn’t have any sort of talent.

    [  “Anything is possible if you try hard enough, they say. Or if you’re desperate enough,” Bodhi stated. He had definitely seen some weird shit in San Francisco.

    “That is an interesting dynamic, but I bet in some cases the role switches. With my siblings, I become a bit over protective but that’s because I was helping my mom since she was a single parent and all.”

    [  “I won’t argue with you there,” he admitted. “If you don’t swing wildly between ‘don’t you dare fuck with my sibling’ and ‘i will send you to the ether myself’ then you’re not related.”

“Yeah, she’s not really hiding much,” he answered, shrugging. Lennon was easy to read, but Bodhi? Not so much. Bodhi was more of Emilia’s friend than his, so his opinion wasn’t super important to Blaine. Nevertheless, he wasn’t trying to pick a fight. “Yeah, I’m fine. You had a weird look on your face.”

    [  bodhi gave a shrug. “i mean i give her props. it’s hard to authentically be yourself,” he replied, gaze averted. he had nothing against blaine, personally, but what he had heard from emilia and read on the gossip blog. he and lennon had always been protective of each other, but all of a sudden- it was a little different. “my face just does that,” he replied with a shrug.

 Verity paid attention to what he was saying, but felt her heart race in her chest. She hated making a fool out of herself, but right now she was praising herself lucky that it was just the two of them. “Alright.” She smiled back at him. “Want to give me a quick demo so I can try it?”

    [  He shot her a soft smile, “Just remember, it’s okay to be nervous. And it’s okay to mess up- surfing is fun but it's also a struggle. Your balance has to be good because you’re constantly adjusting yourself and your center of balance,” he explained. Bodhi gave a nod, laying on the board and lining his chest up with the top line and feet towards the end. He paddled for a little before sliding up into an ‘upward dog’ type pose before pushing himself up with his feet landing between his hands and standing. 

August blinked at him, trying to process all of this information. “So let me get this straight. Wes and Pattie went to homecoming and were nominated for homecoming king and queen. Kai wanted Arinta to win, and also had feelings for Wes, despite dating someone else. And Wes may or may not have had feelings for you?” All of that sounded like something out of a teen soap opera.

    [  Bodhi nodded, flashing an awkward smile to August. “Told you it was long and dramatic,” he sighed. “To be a little fair, it was a boarding school so there’s a lot of pent up hormones,” Bo stated, biting at his lip a little as if this explanation would help make it seem like less of an overdramatic debacle. “But yeah, that’s the basic gist. And I ended up dating Wes, so Kai wasn’t completely off the money,” Bodhi replied, voice trailing off at the end.

“Oh! That sounds interesting!” He tried to convey excitement in his voice, but he honestly knew nothing about surfing. “And what does your, um… roommate do? Or partner? Or parents? I don’t want to assume your living situation.” If he was looking for two bedrooms, there had to be at least one other person living with him.

    [  “It definitely is. I’m lucky to be able to travel because of it,” he replied with an awkward smile. “Oh, yeah, my little sister lives with me. She works at Trader Joes and also sells clothes,” he replied. He hoped that with the two of their incomes they would be able to swing something.

“Well, some of them at least. Serial is my favorite one. Season One. Sarah Koenig is amazing.” Realizing she was starting to ramble, the girl pursed her lips briefly glancing up at him to see if he minded. “There are worse places to spend all your time,” she grinned. “Do you ever go to the state parks during the fall?”

    [  Shaking his head, Bodhi formed his mouth into a line as he wracked his brain. “Never heard of it. I’ll check it out, though. When it comes to podcasts I like to listen to Lore and Stuff You Should Know,” he offered a recommendation. He looked at Izzy and sort of shrugged. “Yes and no. I grew up by Muir Woods and would go there a lot. As of now, I tend to go to Joshua Tree a lot. And Sequoia because it feels a bit like home,” he explained. “Do you frequent the state parks?”

“I am? Cool!” Mike grinned, tapping on the counter with his hands while Bodhi ordered their drinks. “I’m Mike by the way!”

    [  “Definitely. Easy order and no nasty drinks like gin,” he replied, waiting while the bartender made the drink. when it was finished, he handed one of the drinks to Mike. “Bodhi,” he introduced.

    “Sunflowers? God I love sunflowers…they’re so pretty and tall–you know they use sunflowers for sunflower seeds…which is so good, I used to eat it to the point it made my tongue raw.”

    [  “Lennon likes sunflowers a lot. And, oddly enough, I did know that sunflowers make sunflower seeds. Did you know that the yellow petals are actually evolved leaves and aren’t the flower. The flower is the brown part in the middle- a bunch of tiny flowers. The yellow attracts pollinators,” Bodhi replied, reading the fact off of his phone.

    “Now I didn’t know about the Pedialyte popsicles…maybe I should look into that…but I did see they made alcohol ice cream–like otter pops.”

    [  “Fancy, right? Fighting dehydration and hangovers in a fun way, I guess. but alcohol popsicles... and ice cream? That’s just giving more options.”

    “You know, that’s what my younger siblings love to tell me, especially when I tend to act like a mom to them.”

    [  “I feel like that’s not uncommon- especially as an older sibling. Unfortunately, my younger sister is the mom of the group. Talk about a weird dynamic.”

[ "Rash guard shirts. Also socks considering I usually wear sandals. And hair ties- but those always go missing so while I buy a ton I always can only find maybe 3."

42) Is there something your character isn’t very good at, but enjoys doing nonetheless?

[ "Drawing. I suck at it. But I love to try and draw anyway. Also video games. I play on easy and I die a lot in them- but they're fun. My favourite is Bioshock2."

[ "Uh, chapstick. $5 bucks. My wallet. My phone."

3) How do they carry themselves around strangers? Friends/Lovers? Family?

[ Bodhi took in a sharp breath before blowing it out. "Cheery. Happy- for strangers. Then, like, less cheery for friends. Those I'm closer with- best friends. Lovers. They see the trainwreck. And the anger."

5) How does your character express they’re comfortable?

[ "Comfortable with a person? You see past the aggressive positivity. Comfortable at a place? Probably sleeping. Sleeping is pure vulnerability."
