Today marks an important mile stone in my healing. Riding and horses have become painful to me, laced with triggering and heartbreaking memories. They were my anchor in my darkest stages, my place where I felt true to myself. Horses never left my mind. I’ve never stopped riding in my mind, counting strides in between sidewalk cracks, going over techniques in the arena. I always played with the idea of riding but anxiety stopped me in a cold sweat. I want to do more with my life, more with my time, spend more time doing what makes me happy. I eventually want to adopt a horse and settle down and ride and be happy for the rest of my life. And I’m starting that journey today. I’m getting back in the game, getting back in the saddle. I feel nothing but excitement and I know the universe is giving me signs that it’s time and it’s right. This is for my heart horses I lost, this is for my dear friend Kathryn. I’m getting back in the saddle like I promised you all.
