On Netflix's Dear White People, there's a few rape jokes (I think 3?) and one of them is saying how Bill Cosby is, or might be innocent and people only said that stuff because they're afraid of rich black men. It's a great show but I really wished I knew that stuff going into it, it really freaked me out

In the Netflix series Las Chicas Del Cable (Cable Girls in English) a character attempts suicide/self harms on screen at 04:53- 05:18. If anyone wants to skip it the character in question (the woman) attempts and is immediately carried out of the room my the other character. He is calling for a doctor. I tried to make this as spoiler free as possible. There is also nonconsensual drug use in this episode, it is used to avoid a sexual encounter, twice.

Hello. I like the Zach Galifianakis show “Between Two Ferns” on Youtube, but I think the episode with Michael Cera should probably come with a warning. Towards the end there are moments that could be very troubling for anyone particularly sensitive to child abuse/sexual assault.
The Glittering Court (novel)
The only spoilers are the chapter number of the trigger. This guide is not at all comprehensive yet. **Triggers** -Attempted/completed rape/sexual assault: near the end (see below for more details, and why it's so vague if you'd like). -Held at gun point: from the same scene. -Abuse: mostly mental, objectifying and possessive If you've finished the book and would like to add anything, please send an ask or submission. Although you don't need to follow the old submission template. I've been meaning to change that for a while. So I know I'm the worst and haven't replied or posted in a while. And that we haven't done as many book trigger warning guides as we should. But I'm currently reading The Glittering Court, Richelle Mead's new novel (well, first in a series, but it was just released), and was just mildly triggered. Since the book is so new, and pretty highly anticipated from Richelle Mead fans, this might be as helpful as a TV episode warning. It's in chapter 27. With someone they know, after being help at gun point. I'm not sure if it's attempted or completed because I stopped. It's after 4am in my time zone and I'm full of medicine for sinus infection, so I'm taking a break for the night. However, I will definitely finish it shortly, and will provide a better guide off mobile. Including a brief review. Because I have been enjoying it as a nice light read. And, honestly, I'm pretty surprised I didn't expect it given that there were more than a few deliberate, but subtle warning signs. But *shrug emoji* I got swept up in the story. Also, I'm sure being sick probably didn't help. If anyone has questions, especially more spoiler-based info, or has finished the book already, feel free to send an ask. I will actually check and respond privately this time. As well as the others, but at a slower pace. I apologize for my absence, and appreciate every one of you.

I've seen a lot of people tag their trigger warnings with / or // or - at the end. Do you know why that is? I'm not entirely sure how to effectively tag possible triggers on my blog...
I haven’t seen that. Have any of our followers? I personally don’t think it sounds like a great way to tag. But I’ve also seen many blogs put the tw after the trigger. I think I will do a poll soon, and ask the other trigger warning blogs. I think consistency is important, but it’s hard. I’d suggest just remain consistant yourself. And if someone you follow is tagging in a way that makes it hard for you to block send them a message and ask them if they wouldn’t mind tagging it tw: ____ or ____ tw.

Yes, there is! Typically I use cw or Content Warning for text posts where, for example I mention the word “rape” but it is not explicitly talked about. I also use this on activist articles which are positive and about prevention. Another common cw is negativity, or racism. I, personally, don’t like to tag racism as a trigger because I believe that aids in stopping discussions of racism. But it can overwhelming for people.

hi, been a follower for awhile now, but i was wondering if there is a way to alert people of persons on tumblr who trigger or mock people who are triggered by things?
You can feel free to provide the url via anon. If you could please explain their triggering behavior, and if it is just a lack of warnings, or kind of malicious. And then I will go through their page and check it out myself.
I don’t want this to be a pointing fingers thing. But I think it’s important, especially hate or negativity-based blogs, so people know to keep away.
Just to be clear, depending on the content, I want to make this as judgement-free as possible. Just as with movies, it’s not a critique as it is a warning.

Animal cruelty or animal death: There's mention that a horse is shot in the previous episode, but none mentioned in Electricity. Self-injurious behavior (self-harm, eating disorders, etc.): None mentioned Suicide: None mentioned Excessive or gratuitous violence: There is violence - mostly threatening gestures and threatening with guns - but it is not excessive. Needles: None mentioned Depiction of pornography (including child pornography): No nudity is seen, but sex is alluded to/depicted in the beginning and near the end of the show (rape) - since the town is centered around a "whorehouse". Incest (including consensual relationships): None mentioned. Kidnapping (forceful deprivation of/disregard for personal autonomy): None mentioned Death or dying: Fairly close to the beginning of the show (5 - 10 minutes of content in), John Slotter shoots at a Chinese child, who is then electrocuted by the power line and falls and breaks his skull. Pregnancy/Childbirth: Mention of a stillbirth in the first 15 minutes of content. Miscarriages/Abortion: Mention of a previous miscarriage throughout the show, as well as alluding to Isabelle wanting an abortion if she gets pregnant again, which I believe was in the first 15 minutes of content. Hi, I'm asking because I'm really curious and I could help people if I understood the process. I get it when someone is triggered by rape, for example. But how is someone triggered by food? I'm not saying people aren't, I'm wondering how is the triggering process (what happens when someone is triggered by food) and maybe why would someone have such a trigger? Thank you!!
Most it has to do with eating disorders/disordered eating. I’m personally not triggered by food, but kind of by talk of diets. I have had disordered eating, in all different ways, and many people are recovering or currently struggling. Either way seeing food can be triggering for them. I think especially very close up “food porn” type pictures (not sure how I feel about that terminology, but it is common.)

I just finished watching the movie Babadook (not recommended for victims of child abuse, those sensitive to gore/violence, or those upset by animal cruelty), and I noticed on IMDb that there's a "Parent Guide" page. The page lists all sensitive material in the movie. I'm not sure if every movie has a parent guide on IMDb, but almost every movie ever created has an IMDb. Dexter, Season Five
In Dexter Season Season Five there's a hunt for a group of Rapists. One of the characters is a rape and abuse survivor and her flashbacks are sort of graphic. I know you might want to know any important plot changes: Her name is Lumen and she and dexter are really right for each other and they become partners naturally, but at the end of season five they've finished killing all the rapists, which is nice. SO YEAH NO SEASON FIVE OF DEXTER!!!!
