happy Lughnasadh 💛 the color yellow is my favorite, so it was easy to connect with today. i wore yellow during my morning coffee, and i braided my hair for the walk. i saw beautiful yellow flowers during my visit to the butterfly garden. then, i used the crystal grid i made yesterday with reference to hills and sunshine. it’s been a nice holiday. happy first harvest :)

Zosan Lokius, my sage plant, unfortunately passed away this winter. i cried a lot and had a funeral for him with my partner.

i knew i wanted another plant this season, but i didn’t know which. it’s been hard to pick as ive grieved. then, i started working in a plant nursery and found this beauty!! an autumn tree-looking perineal?? sign me up!

so, without further ado, i introduce X-5 D. Saul 😂🍁 my sage plant had a combined One Piece/Loki TV show name, so i wanted to give my new plant the same kind of name. those shows are special interests of mine.

i only know the bare minimum to care for my plant, which is how i’ve found my gardening journey to be so far. i’ve learned a lot as i went by simply tuning into my plant’s needs.

as a devout Pagan, plants are sacred to me. i’m very glad i had a chance to welcome him in my home. 😃

ps. i took him out for the photos, but i have a grow light in my room since i’m an indoor gardener!

Things that have helped me feel closer to my deities:

Praying before their altars (bonus points if you write your own)

Read books other than their myths (books you think they’d enjoy themselves)

Meditating with them

Learn about magickal subjects related to them

Dedicate a journal for notes and document experiences you have with that deity (including moments where they’ve assisted you and any divination conversations you’ve had with them)

Listen to their messages and follow through with them

Light incense that reminds you of them

Find artwork that feels like that deity and hang, print or save them

Divination Methods (Runes, Tarot, Pendulums, Bone Throwing, etc.)

Watch content on different subjects they’re related to (documentaries on death, relationships, crime, etc.)

Dedicate, care, and/or name pets, plants, plushies, etc to them

Learn not just their pantheon and myths but the culture that influenced them

Wear jewelry dedicated to them (bonus if you have that deity enchant them with protection)

Share meals with them

Thinking of them in passing (like “hey that thing reminds me of *insert deity*”)

Talk casually at their altars and give them an itinerary of your day

Define your relationship with that deity and refer to them accordingly (if its a more formal/in reverence, use a formal title. if it’s warm/personal, use an affectionate name.)

Sometimes I approach my shrines and just sort of stand there. Like, I don't pray, make offerings, or anything. I'll just stand there and look at it. Or sit next to it.

For a while, this made me feel strange and a little guilty, even. But now I look to how I do similarly with my parents. I'll just go and sit quietly with them, or go lean on them. Just take comfort in their presence.

The Gods ARE our divine parents, after all.

I feel this way as well. Whether the relationship feels parental, fraternal, friendly, or just lovingly neutral it can be so impactful just to sit in silence with your deities/ancestors or the spirits around you.

Luck & Good Fortune Spell

hi, all! i found some information on Pinterest about symbols of luck and good fortune. i combined what i found to make a money bowl! to make a long story short, i needed a job to help my partner with our bills and feel my own sense of purpose.

2 days after making this bowl, i got a job that i really wanted! i’ll include the materials i used and the last stanza of the spell i wrote, because the rest was specific to my situation. i hope this helps everyone 🍀 remember, it’s all about your intentions!

Materials

- green bowl

- crystals (fool’s gold for good fortune, aventurine for prosperity, tiger’s eye for confidence, tourmaline for protection, a geode piece for cleansing (selenite works also)

- a key for luck

- coins for wealth

- a personal symbol of perseverance (mine is a paper airplane)

The Spell

May my heart remain so giving
