making James Bond play the role of chauffeur so he can be in time out in the car while every other 00 candidate gets to go inside and mingle is objectively the funniest thing they could have done oh my god I love this game
I have played exactly twenty minutes of the new James Bond game 007 First Light and Iām obsessed and I NEEEED to scream about it with someone but the only side of this fandom Iāve seen since joining it a year ago are the bitter older Bond fans on Twitter who will curse your entire bloodline if you claim to enjoy any Bond content that came out in the last two decades so.. fml
*sighs*
I have somehow managed to take my Stranger Things fixation and trip over into The Black Phone fandom with it. I donāt know how the trope of Steve Harrington being an older Finney Blake got started but the point is Iāve read every fic that exists and now Iām cursed to start writing my own. So anyways Iām having a blast and hereās a few scenes from the rough draft I just randomly started writing at 3 am. Ignore any mistakes the proofreading bit comes when itās not *checks watch* 7 in the morning. š“
just rediscovered my WIP I started to write a scene about a Hawke and Carver argument but so far itās 4.5K words of Hawke x Varric flirting in The Hanged Man and carver hasnāt even said one line yet⦠I need to find the strength to finish this one š

Viago: Letās not Rook this into a worse situation than it already is.
Rook: Did you just use my name as a verb?
Sweet as Frosting
The Dellamorte villa was alive with warmth and laughter. The golden light of the kitchen illuminated the flour-dusted counter, where Rook stirred a bowl of batter with a bit more enthusiasm than technique. Her hair was tied loosely back, strands already falling free to frame her flushed cheeks.
Lucanis Dellamorte leaned against the counter beside her, his dark eyes brimming with quiet amusement. He was dressed in casual crow attire, nonetheless a bit intimidating to outsiders, though the frosting smudged across his sleeves made him look just a little less intimidating than usual.
āYou know,ā he drawled, his voice smooth and laced with mischief, āif you whisk any harder, the bowl might retaliate.ā
Rook shot him a look, one brow arched. āIām trying to make this perfect. Youāre the one who insisted on cake instead of pie, soā¦ā She trailed off, gesturing to the mess of ingredients around them.
Lucanis smirked. āDonāt blame me for your ambitious standards, tesoro. Youāre the one who said you wanted to impress me.ā
āImpress you?ā Rook laughed, pausing to flick a pinch of flour at him. āAmorino, I think youāre already impressed enough.ā
He tilted his head, watching her intently as though agreeing with that sentiment entirely. Then, without warning, he reached into the nearby frosting bowl, scooping a bit onto his finger and dabbing it across her nose.
āLucanis!ā she yelped, dropping the whisk and swiping at her face.
He was already laughing, the low sound resonating deep in his chest as he stepped back. āYouāre much cuter when youāre messy, you know.ā
āOh, youāre asking for it now.ā
Rook grabbed a handful of flour and flung it at him, hitting his dark shirt square in the chest. Lucanis stopped short, glancing down at the pale smudge on his otherwise pristine attire.
āYouāre going to regret that,ā he said, his voice low and teasing.
But Rook wasnāt waiting for his retaliation. She darted around the counter, laughing as Lucanis chased after her with a determined gleam in his eye. They ended up tangled in a playful scuffle, smearing frosting and flour on each otherās faces and hands as they stole kisses in between bursts of laughter.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The cake batter was forgotten for a while, though neither seemed to mind.
It wasnāt until much later, after the cake was baked and half-decorated, and Rook was perched on the countertop with Lucanis standing between her legs, their foreheads pressed together, that she glanced at the clock on the wall.
Her heart sank. āAndrasteās ashes,ā she muttered, pulling back.
Lucanis frowned, his brows knitting together. āWhat is it?ā
āItās one in the morning,ā Rook said, sliding off the counter in a panic. āI was supposed to be home by eleven. Viagoās going to kill me.ā
Lucanis caught her hand before she could rush away, his expression softening. āStay,ā he murmured, brushing his thumb over her knuckles. āI can smooth talk Viago tomorrow, save you some trouble.ā
She sighed, torn between the warmth of his touch and the dread of her brotherās wrath. Finally, she leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss to his lips.
āYouāre impossible,ā she whispered against his mouth before pulling away.
āAnd yet, you keep coming back,ā Lucanis said with a smirk, watching her gather her things.
Rook rolled her eyes but couldnāt help the smile that crept across her face. āIāll see you soon. Try not to miss me too much.ā
Lucanis chuckled, ātry not to get scolded too much,ā his gaze following her as she slipped out into the night.

The De Riva villa was quiet as Rook climbed through the open window of her room, carefully lowering herself onto the floor. She thought sheād gotten away with it, until the light flicked on.
Rook froze, turning slowly to find Viago sitting in a chair by the door, his arms crossed and his dark eyes narrowed. He was still dressed, his usual sharp crow attire despite the late hour, though his expression betrayed his annoyance.
āYou want to tell me where youāve been all night?ā he asked, his tone deceptively calm.
Rook scrambled for an excuse. āI was out with Teia,ā she said quickly.
Another chair turned, and Teia spun into view with an equally unimpressed look. Her brown hair was loosely braided, and though her expression was softer than Viagoās, it was no less effective.
āWanna try again?ā Teia asked, arching a brow.
Rook winced. āI⦠was baking. At a friendās place.ā
āBaking,ā Viago repeated, his tone flat. āUntil one in the morning?ā
āItās⦠a very complicated recipe?ā she offered weakly.
Teia exchanged a look with Viago, her lips twitching as though she were trying to suppress a laugh. Viago, however, didnāt seem amused.
āYou know I donāt like it when youāre out this late,ā he said, his voice softening slightly but still firm. āAnything could happen.ā
Rook sighed, guilt creeping in. āIām sorry, Vi. I lost track of time, thatās all. Nothing happened. I was perfectly safe at the Dellamorte villa.ā
Viagoās brows furrowed, but his expression softened slightly. āLucanis, huh?ā He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. āLook, Iām not going to lecture you about seeing him. Heās⦠decent, as far as men like him go. Better than I expected, even. But, Rookāā His tone sharpened, the protective older brother coming through. āOne in the morning? At his villa? What were you thinking?ā
Teia gave him a small nudge, her tone gentler. āVi, let her explain. Sheās fine. Donāt make a scene.ā
āIām not making a scene,ā Viago shot back, though his raised voice said otherwise.
Rook held up her hands, trying to de-escalate. āWe were baking. Baking, Vi. I wasnāt sneaking off to plot assassinations or rile up the Antaam!ā
āThatās not the point,ā Viago said, standing now, his dark eyes locking onto hers. āThe point is you said youād be home by eleven. If youāre going to see Lucanis, or anyone for that matter, you donāt just vanish into the night like some teenager with no sense of responsibility.ā
āVanish?ā Rook repeated, indignant. āI didnāt vanish, Viago. I was with someone you know and trust.ā
āI trust him to keep his blades sharp and his secrets buried,ā Viago said. āThat doesnāt mean I trust him not to make a bad decision with my little sister.ā
Teia sighed, cutting in before the argument could spiral further. āSheās not a child, Vi. Sheās more than capable of holding her own. And itās not like sheās going to take any nonsense from Lucanis or anyone else.ā She turned to Rook with a wry smile. āBut maybe let your brother know next time if youāre running late? He gets⦠dramatic when heās worried.ā
Rook couldnāt help but grin at Teiaās dry humor, though she turned back to Viago with a more serious expression. āIām sorry, Vi. I didnāt mean to worry you. I just lost track of time, thatās all. It wonāt happen again.ā
Viago exhaled, the tension in his shoulders easing a fraction. āGood. Because if you keep sneaking back at this hour, I might start sending messages to Lucanis about curfews.ā
Rookās eyes widened. āYou wouldnāt dare.ā
His lips quirked into a sly smirk. āTry me.ā
Teia snorted a laugh, nudging Viago toward the door. āAlright, thatās enough. Sheās apologized. Let her sleep, papa corvo.ā
Viago huffed but relented, though not without a final glance at Rook. āJust⦠take care of yourself, okay? And next time, send a message through a crow.ā
As the door closed behind them, Rook sank onto her bed, letting out a breath of relief. Her brother could be a pain, but at least he wasnāt trying to put Lucanis on some sort of watchlist.
But the lecture was worth it, she thought with a smile, the memory of Lucanisās flour-dusted grin still fresh in her mind.

I wanted to write something with a little bit of comic relief, sprinkled with a touch of protective older brother Viago (My headcanon for crow! Rook).

holy shit you guys read this right now. RIGHT NOWWWW !!!
*immediately after the Antaam incident*
Rook: If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're impressed.
Viago: But you do know better. Idiot.
I hope Bianca knows and finds space away from her husband to grieve her decades-old situationship. I hope she's just a little bit sorry. I hope, if he's still alive, someone cares for Bartrand. I hope there's a moment of silence at the Kirkwall Merchants' Guild he would've hated, and many rounds of drinks and Wicked Grace at the Hanged Man he would've loved. I hope Bellara does tell the story, not as he would have but honoring his memory nonetheless. I hope his books are printed for years to come.

Viago: Might I make a suggestion you possibly won't like?
Rook, grumbling: Do you make any other kind?
Rook: You read my diary?
Viago: At first I did not know it was your diary. I thought it was a very sad handwritten book. Also you have horrific taste. You get that from Teia.
soo.. are we gonna talk about the trauma a man who was locked away and tortured in an underwater prison for a year might face when walking into rookās room and seeing the giant wall of water right off the bat?? no ??
IM ACTUALLY WRITING A FIC RN AND THIS IS MENTIONED LOL
OMG PLEASEEEEE DROP A TAG OR A LINK WHEN YOUāRE DONE LET ME SUPPORT ššš
SPOILERS FOR VEILGUARD ā>
For those of you who have played and/or watched the scene that takes place after the dragon attack if you are a crow!rook who chose to save minrathous, you know this little line Viago throws at you?
āBecause you always think of something. You always do. Except this time.ā
Once again, Iām asking you guys to think about Lucanis having to tell Viago that rook is missing post-tearstone island. Because they donāt know where Rook is. They donāt even know if Rook is alive. All they know is they killed one of the gods, they did it, but the smoke cleared and solas is free but Rook is gone. and itās WEEKS according to that Bellara romance scene.
Viago refuses to believe Rook is gone. Not Rook. Not the stubborn little idiot who had more lives than the feral street cats of treviso they so loved to pet. Not the little crow who spent years following Viago around with one hand always fisted in his cape until it was beat out of them to not show that kind of weakness. Not the little scrap of a being that succeeded for always being quick, but fell for their mouth that ran that much quicker. Not Rook, who he sent away to learn patience, to get them out of the hot seat and away from the other houses who wanted their head. Rook, who fought and won against gods and dragons and the blight. Not a crow who always completes their contract. Not Rook who was supposed to come home.
Not Rook. So Viago refuses to believe it. The first few days he clings so hard to the mantra. āRook always thinks of something.ā And they will come back and laugh and laugh and laugh at how worried Viago was and Viago will sigh and ring their neck and slip poison into their food to make sure theyāve been keeping up with their daily antivenomsā and Rook will be there.
But those days turn into a week, and then into two, and Viago hasnāt received any update from this so called āveilguardā and all of the sudden āRook always thinks of something.ā is crumbling because what if this is the exception? this is the āexcept this time.ā Because it is always until itās not. and there is no time to truly mourn is there? there is still one god left to slay and very little time left to do it.
And Viago will fight. The loss of his⦠the loss to House de Riva is felt, but Viago is a professional. His wings are not clipped. ( his feathers are broken, hard shafts digging in and pulling blood from oozing cuts. they need clipped, groomed, removed. but his wings still work. they just hurt. ) He will finish this contract, in their name if nothing else.
But Viago let himself forget. āRook always thinks of something.ā And he let himself doubt and underestimate when he swore he would never be caught by those things again. but maybe this once, itās okay. itās okay because Rook stands in front of him, alive. Broken, but alive.
because a Crow always completes their contract, and a Rook will always come home to bother Viago.
Until they donāt
Teia: Well.. I should get back to the casino..
Viago: Wait! Would you like to stay for dinner?
Rook, from the other room: WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOREVER?
