“Yes, it was absolutely their fault. If I wasn’t such a gracious person I would think about pressing charges,” she said with a nod before a smile broke out.

Trey laughed shaking his head “well lucky for them you are a gracious person, or else they wouldn’t stand a chance.”

“Thank you,” she took the napkin and wiped the blood that had dripped down before patting the small gash. “A bad combination of foot placement and a curb.”

Trey smiled nodding his head “yeah no problem.” He said laughing looking at the girl “damn you curb for sneaking up on her that way.”

Michaela laughed at his guess. “I have had my moments of having a bit of a short attention span but it wasn’t a balloon this time. Though if there had been a balloon animal that would have been a different story.”

Trey laughed nodding his head “okay well at least it wasn’t a balloon. So what was it then?” He said handing her a napkin from his bag. 

River: Shit yeah. I'd throw my money at some sweet tea.

“The fruit roll up is tough to eat as a grown man. I mean, no shade if you can, my ego just can’t take it though.”

“Well I mean I don’t really eat many fruit snacks anymore” he said laughing “but when I was kid that was the best.”

“You mean you wasted one hour of your life actually watching that shit? Damn, I actually feel sorry for you.”

“I feel sorry for myself too. It was one of those nights, I couldn’t sleep and I was in bed on my phone scrolling through youtube and that happened.”

“Alright, if you bought me here to play Tiddlywinks then I’m out.”

“I have actually never seen that game played in person before, but one time I was on youtube and got caught up in an hour long video of some guy trying to defeat the record or something.” 

“No, no. Just move along. Pretend I am not here,” Michaela gave an embarrassed laugh as she sat on the curb with a bloody knee.

Trey shook his head, stepping in front of her “so what happened” he said smirking at her “were you going for a run and someone threw a balloon from the room and it distracted you?” He said laughing. 

“Don’t care what you have to say, Welch’s fruit snacks are better than Gushers.”

“Welch’s? I was more of a fruit roll up kind of guy.”

River: Why aren't lemonade stands more of a thing?

“Oh I guess, but, eh– I– this is such a weird thing to talk about,” Lily fumbled over her words, resorting to a laugh and a shake of her head. “Ooohhh I miss Blockbuster so much,” Lily nodded with a big grin. “Oooh you so so were, my friend.”

“Ha, why is that? Netflix and chilling has been around for a minute” he said laughing. “Blockbuster was and always will be my favorite. Even when Netflix used to send DVDs that was a time. It’s just not the same anymore.” He said shaking his head “how so?”

Roxanne: Let's just put it that way. You know those people you read about in math story problems in middle school?

“And what benefits might those be?” She asked with a playful smile.

“Well the person is actually next to you, so it’s a little more intimate. Than if we were going to watch through zoom.” He said laughing “which means a little more cuddling, and a little more hands on.”

“I’m a lawyer. Can you say you expect anything less than harsh coming from me,” she countered with a playful smile. “Well,” she murmured drawing out the word just to poke fun at him. “As long as we can watch something that is not in the romance genre I guess I could consider it.”

“Well I thought you’d go a little easy on me, I guess not” he said laughing. “Wow you know romance is my favorite” he said joking. “I’ve got a couple days off, so how about it? Movie night soon? I’ll cook dinner?”

She sighed at the smart recommendation, putting the cigarette away for the moment. “Ah, you see, that’s the Patterson genes.” Bonnie hinted at a smile. “We just simply don’t age, you should see my father.”

Trey nodded his head at her comment “hmm, still sarcastic as ever eh?” He said looking at her, taking a seat next to her. “So what have you been up to kid?”

Roxanne: Like all together or how many left?

Roxanne: I went a little crazy with the hydrangeas and have run out of places to put them.
