Morning Strum One of the things you learn quickly as a photographer is that you should always have your camera handy. I can't tell you how many times I've missed a shot because the camera was at home or in the back pack. Well today I'm a bit of a hypocrite as I did exactly that. Summer often brings out the musicians and one of my favorite things to shoot is candid shots of people doing what they love. A better close up of this picture would have made for a nice picture. Lesson learned always have your camera ready! Have a great weekend everyone!

Photos from The Brian Finamore Appreciation Night Event which we recently shot. The event was a gathering for a High School Chaplain who has devoted over 30 years of service in the Mississauga Highschool system. The night was a thank you from former students and staff in appreciaton for years of counselling, moral and emotional support, friendship, community outreach, and an overwhelming promotion and participation in charitable work.

While down in Florida the community we stayed at had their own little Butterfly Garden. I spent a little bit of time basking in the sun while observing some the bug life. Of course I had my Macro lens with me to capture some of the small creatures that we busy bustling around doing their day to day activities. I wasn't expecting to see much other than lizards, bees, butterflies and the odd bird but low and behold this tame fellow came hopping around. Last weekend I had the good fortune of spending a relaxing weekend up in the Blue Mountains.  With the extreme cold this winter in Ontario much of the snow hasn't melted and most the Great Lakes have frozen over.  Below are a few of the shots taken while exploring the area.  The trip was more a get away but I took the opportunity to experiment with Tresta's Lumia 1020.  All the shots below were taken using the 1020.

Toppled: Today's photo comes from one of the fall shoots mentioned last week. I was scouting the area before meeting with a couple to see some good spots to take their picture. As I was walking along I saw this bike lying in the leaves and thought with the lake as a backdrop it made for a nice fall picture. Funny part, which you can't see because of the tree, on the other side there was a photographer taking a picture from the opposite angle.... You know the saying.... Hats Off: Crafts like sewing and crochet are a rare talent now a days. I have a friend near Mississauga who has recently started a crochet business. She makes accessories for adults and children. @loopsfordays Continuing along with some of the pictures from the Buttertart Festival in Midland (previously mentioned) I came across this little merchant tent. They we're selling toques. This machine has a rather unique almost antique design to it. Although the machine doesn't look too old or aged it does bring a sense of nostalgia. Today's Photo: "Night Sun" comes courtesy of the Sunshine State (Florida). While visiting friends down in South Beach Miami last March we decided to trek off road a little and take the more adventurous route back to the Gulf Coast. Most people while traveling from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast take the gated Highway 90, what was once renown as Alligator Alley. Highway 41 which is further south is an open stretch of road with very little barrier between you and the various species that live on this 729000 acre preserve. Due to scheduling conflicts and the prevailing night fall (the thought of prowling panthers is motivation to stay out of the dark) we were unable to spend any time exploring the various areas of the preserve but we did get to see a variety of big birds while driving along. Today's Photo: Stray A couple weekends ago I was able to take pictures for a lovely couple and their children. We spent 3 hours during a sunny fall afternoon down at the Mansion in Oakville. It was a fun shoot. The kids enjoyed the beach and playing with the leaves. At the end of the shoot once they had left my associate and I were heading back to the car and stumbled upon this nicely coated cat. We don't know whether it was a outside doors cat or a one that had been lost. It seemed familiar with the grounds and was very friendly so when the cat took off we figured it was from around the grounds. It was an interesting coincidence as in the neighbourhood that Tresta Studio is located in there are four outdoors cats which if you frequent the area will become familiar with. One of these days we'll grap some snap shots of them and do a series on them. Have a great Tuesday everyone!
