i wonder how many extra miles i’ve walked on well-lit roads out of fear of being raped on the shortcut. i wonder how many “legendary” nights i missed out on just because i had to go home before the dark got dangerous. i wonder how many minutes i’ve waited after work for my boss to drive me home or my parents to come pick me up. i wonder how many hours i’ve spent not having fun at a party waiting for someone to walk home with me. i wonder how different my life would be if the world wouldn’t be dangerous for a girl alone at night.
