growing up, harper always had a huge love for singing and performing. she knew she wanted to work in the music industry one way or another, and she worked hard to get there. harper was the youngest child, and the only girl in a group of four kids. she has three older brothers, and they’re always there for each other, no matter what. when harper was twelve years old, her mother left the family a couple of days before christmas. harper had run into her parents bedroom, to wake them up, and that’s when she found her dad sitting on the edge of the bed, holding onto a piece of paper which her mother had left behind. 

harper struggled a lot with trusting people after her mother left; she turned to music and started writing songs and performing in her bedroom, making videos that she uploaded to youtube. she quickly got a following and at the age of eighteen, harper was approached by a record label that wanted to give her a chance to give out her original music. this was huge news for harper, especially as this was something she had always wanted to do. this was everything that she wanted. the record label requested harper to write a bunch of songs, before she would be able to go into the studio and record them. in the meantime, she began to perform at different shows across los angeles –– and the record label began to put a bunch of their money into promoting her to all kinds of audiences. 

when harper was nineteen, she got into the studio to record the songs that she had worked on for what felt like years. harper was excited about getting the songs out in the open. she was introduced to the different people who would work on the album with her. the producer, named nick, was sweet and really seemed to be quite invested in what she wanted for the album to sound like. six months into the recording session, things changed. harper and nick were alone one night, in the recording studio working on one of the songs that nick felt like needed more work, when he tried to kiss harper. she had pushed him away instantly, as she didn’t want what he obviously wanted from her. she wanted their relationship to stay strictly professional. nick tried to force himself on harper, but thankfully she managed to get out of there before anything had happened. she didn’t tell anyone, as she was certain that it would mean that her debut record wouldn’t happen because who would believe her?
