When cranking out something that is in demand... It is very hard to hold the line of quality control. I want to get my hard work out into the world to be enjoyed, but sometimes the work bumps up against that line... So it must be decided if it passes the test. This one did not. Hurts a bit to lose a piece, but feels good knowing that I'm only sending out my best work. I want each #growler to reflect the #quality and craftsmanship of the @mareislandbrewingco beer inside! Finished up a blog post today that connects some of the dots of old work and new... As well as all the growth in between! This is a piece I made back in college, and it has been so much fun to see this style carry over into growler making!

Each #growler begins to form it's own unique identity as it is formed... The process is designed to create something that can be replicated consistently, and in many ways that happens. However, the beauty comes from all the variables colliding to make each piece #unique. I'm soaking up that #magic tonight as I continue to bring a few more @mareislandbrewingco growlers into the world. (at City of Vallejo)

I've been making tumblers this year... For the first time ever really. There is something grounding about making them, and thinking about people holding/using them... From my hands to theirs. These wheel thrown tumblers will only be available in person (pop ups, music gigs, etc.) so that you can pick them up, hold them... See which one(s) feel right in YOUR hands. Each one a little different and unique... Perfect. Just like you.

Yesterday I was selling my ceramics... Today I am burying it (well, old junked pieces... Along with carpet I tore out a while back :) for drainage help in my back yard! #garden #permaculturedesign #frenchdrain #swale #bringonelnino

Things are happening...

Finally made it back down to the #VallejoArtWalk ... With some pieces to fit the #fall season. Didn't sell anything, but it was fun to play some tunes and think about the changes I've seen in #Vallejo over the past 10+ years! (at Vallejo Old City Historic District)

#Coffee starts as a cherry on a tree... The fruit of the cherry has to be removed in order to get the bean/seed we roast and then prepare for our morning cup. How this "processing" is done can make a big difference in how the coffee tastes!
