Have a good pride from all of us at Transpeak! We hope to celebrate this month not only by embracing our individual journeys and experiences, but also by remembering our history and the people who fought for fellow LGBTQ+ people’s right to be seen and heard. Be compassionate, be safe. 

Our server’s annual #pride-month channel opened for discussion yesterday, and we will use the rest of the month to feature and discuss various gender identities and labels.

Keep your makeup products clean! Wash your brushes once in a while. Wipe and disinfect the outside of your makeup containers, especially eyeliner and mascara.

Check for expiration dates of all your supplies! Don't use expired makeup. The products and compounds can cause irritation and negative side effects after their intended period of use.

For those of you who look for advice on how to pass better, please don't forget to...

- Be kind to yourself. Just because not everyone you meet sees you as your gender doesn't mean that you're failing or doing a terrible job, It doesn't make your identity any less valid, and it doesn't make you any less of a person.

- Be open about feedback. Everyone is going to have very different perspectives  on how they perceive gender and passing, especially in trans communities. If you ask for honest opinions, people will provide their honest answers, positive and negative.

For any of you lovely people who are binding, please remember to be safe! Only use things that are made and designed for binding, and try to be aware of any warning signs your body might react with.

Today is Intersex Pride Day~ This concept is often misunderstood, even though it is something that more people than thought experience. "Intersex people are born with sex characteristics (including genitals, gonads and chromosome patterns) that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies. Intersex is an umbrella term used to describe a wide range of natural bodily variations. In some cases, intersex traits are visible at birth while in others, they are not apparent until puberty. Some chromosomal intersex variations may not be physically apparent at all." This is lifted a lot from wikipedia since finding a clinical definition that everyone agrees on is somewhat difficult. One of the important things to remember about folks with intersex traits is that both you can be intersex and trans, but not everyone that is intersex identifies as trans. Inclusion in LGBT activism or education of what being intersex is like can be hard since there aren't many people that know much about it currently. Below is the intersex pride flag!
