This. Understanding why someone is the way they are is, in itself, a good thing. But people, and kids in particular, are not responsible for ‘fixing’ another person, let alone some chucklefuck that is abusing them in the first place. Knowing that Jimmothy’s parents are abusive assholes is all well and good, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s abusive too. If you make the conscious decision to involve yourself with them and try to make them better, that’s all on you. But you should never force that role on someone else, especially a child, and if you do you probably shouldn’t be in any sort of leadership or care position. 

If you know the bully’s parents are abusive you get the cops and social workers on their ass. Don’t blame the victims.
