Proud to be Trans and GNC

What is a piece of clothing/accessory that makes you feel gender euphoria? Why do you think this item in particular makes you feel this way?

Note: this post discusses trans gender nonconforming (GNC) people. These are trans people who's gender expression doesn't align with society's expectation for their gender identity. For example, a trans person who identifies as male but also chooses to dress in a very stereotypically feminine way (also known as the OP of this poll)

Here's a little bit about why I believe we need as space to rally around trans gnc people:

My transition didn't look the same as many of my friends and the people I watched on the internet. I was assigned female at birth, came to terms with being trans and bigender (he/they), and proceeded to grow my hair out, do my makeup and nails, and embrace stereotypically feminine fashions.

For a long time, I thought that transitioning into the man I knew I was meant giving up all of the things I had enjoyed about my feminine upbringing. When I accepted that my transition may not be so straightforward, I found myself feeling a lot happier, much more confident, and able to look in the mirror and see an outside portrayal of the person I knew myself to be inside for so many years.

As a trans person who's gender expression doesn't match society's expectations for what the gender I identity with should look like, I am often met with confusion or surprise when other people (including other trans people!) hear about my experience with gender. I have had many people in my community comment that I am the first trans person they've met who is gnc, and that they benefited a lot from learning about my perspective.

Beyond seeing a need for awareness and understanding, I wanted to make something that other trans gnc people could connect with. To be honest, being outside the norm of both society and your minority group can feel lonely and isolating. We deserve visibility, community, and support!
