Masculinity expectations
I made this comic to play with and point out how society often pushes these examples as “not masculine enough” when that’s a dumb standard. Being a trans guy doesn’t erase the fact that I was raised with the expectations to be a woman and be feminine. But now that I’m learning what kind of man I want to be, I can take aspects of both masculinity and femininity from my life and make it my own.

This is a retrospective kind of post (I'm talking to my former self if you can't tell). For so long I would turn down every opportunity to dress masculine but at the same time I would be jealous of other people who got to do so. I didn't want to dress feminine but felt obligated to because of arbitrary rules of society. Nah, just wear what you want to wear. You only have one life.
This isn't about not coming out because you're not in a situation that you can do so. Of course make sure you are safe first.
something that feels almost taboo as a trans man is being able to personally relate to aspects of womanhood. remembering life when you were still a girl. I mean this seriously, and I've never seen anything about how trans men CAN have valid opinions in "girls only" conversations. trans man are allowed to relate to things society says only women experience, and I think it should be said more. this applies to trans women in "boys only" topics too. if you've identified as a gender before and have experiences specific to that gender, you should be allowed to talk about it and not be criticized because "that was a long time ago" or "you're not (other gender) anymore so your opinion is invalid". we were all children at some point but our childhood memories don't become incorrect just because we grow up. I think we should talk about this more.
