My Peak Trans Moment should’ve been some years back after I was forced to urinate in front of a 50 year old man in bad wig because he identified as a woman and he was my court appointed drug counselor.

I got busted for possession of marijuana and was given the option of diversion as a first time offender. Diversion means you go through drug treatment and the charge doesn’t go on your record and as I didn’t want a drug conviction on my record, I took the option. Diversion starts by getting assigned a court appointed drug counselor who interviews you and tells you what you have to do to be considered treated. After the interview you have to do  a piss test, urinalysis, which involves urinating in cup in front of your drug counselor so they can make sure it’s your urine that gets tested and you’re not filling up the lab cup with your Mormon neighbor’s urine, or something.

My court appointed drug counselor was a 50 year old man in a wig and a skirt and I’m not saying that to be salty, that’s exactly what he looked like ’cause that’s what he was. Since the job entails observing someone urinate, the job is sex segregated, men get male drug counselors and women get female drug counselors. He was clearly not female and clearly a man, but he was legally female and therefore assigned women because assigning him male clients would be not recognizing his gender identity and would be a violation of his rights as a transwoman.

My rights as a woman to have another female be assigned to watch me piss in a cup, that’s just not important.

It’s humiliating and weird to be legally coerced to piss in front of someone but having to piss in front of a creepy old man with the legal power to completely ruin your life and be legally coerced into validating his fantasy that he is a woman- that takes to a whole ‘nother level.

That should’ve been my peak trans moment, but it wasn’t. It didn’t really sink in how fucked up that whole experience was till I read about Christopher “Jessica” Hambrook. Hambrook is a convicted rapist who was able to leverage gender identity laws in Toronto to gain access to women’s homeless shelters where he sexually assaulted a deaf woman and a woman who had fled domestic violence.

I was wondering how that managed to happen, so I read the Ontario Human Rights Ordinance on gender identity laws and read how in public accommodations people can’t be refused entrance to sex segregated spaces if they claim gender identity. Staff can’t ask for proof, like state issued ID, or even ask if they have been diagnosed with GID and are being treated by a doctor. Nope, gender identity is a sacred belief and must be respected. If a convicted rapist claims to be a woman and wants in the women’s homeless shelter, open the doors or risk being sued for violating his legally protected gender identity.

In the ordinance they give examples of how gender identity should be respected and how people who claim gender identity protections should be treated. An example they gave was if a transwoman was to be stripped searched, they should be stripped searched by a female officer so as to protect their dignity and personal privacy . I read that and I thought about what happened to me and why wasn’t my rights to dignity and personal privacy as a woman, an adult female, respected? Why was I legally coerced into participating in some cross dressing man’s role playing, piss fetish game?

It was very amusing to read about the “feminist” festival in Germany that declared that clitorises are “exclusionary.” As Susan Cox writes for Feminist Current:

“The festival, which features workshops, lectures, and art, had initially planned to include topics like, “clitoris/glitzoris” and “masturbation” as part of their art exhibition, but protocol documents from the last planning meeting now explain that the clitoris is “problematic,” because it refers to female anatomy.

The festival organizers have stated that, due to being a “queer Lady*fest,” it shouldn’t empower “only certain groups,” such as those with clitorises, and that the festival will not be “excluding any groups” by referencing female anatomy. Lady*fest claims these actions embody their policy, which translates to, “be tender to all genders,” and that being mindful of how female anatomy offends people will provide “a safer space to all human beings by applying awareness.”

The funny thing is, any anatomy can be female anatomy if the owner says so, and in fact, a penis can even be called a clitoris. Remember this comic by the creepy adult male who imagines himself as a child teaching a girl to think of his penis as a clitoris?

In the alternate universe that trans activists live in, a penis can be a large clitoris that you pee through any time someone says it is. So who says talking about the clitoris is even exclusionary? Can’t trans women just consider their anatomy a clitoris and then feel included in the women’s festival?

The thing is, trans activists don’t even bother to make sure their arguments are internally consistent. They just want the women around them to obey them at all times and never question their claims even if they make no sense. Is the clitoris a part of only “cis” women’s anatomy that triggers trans women’s dysphoria when mentioned, or is it the name for any anatomy that belongs to a person who identifies as female? If trans women have a large clitoris that they can pee through, why would mentioning the clitoris be triggering?

At least get your story straight if you’re going to bully us into believing your crap.

Which is it, Stephie? Do you have a “girl’s penis” or a “large clitoris”?

Then there’s the appropriation, by rich white straight guys, of a “transgender murder rate” that upon close inspection seems to affect mostly poor black gay guys (often in the context of prostitution or domestic violence). This is a problem, to be sure, and it always was a problem. But the people affected by it aren’t the same ones filling their social media feeds with posts about it. The people affected by this problem are too busy trying to survive. Where were the random middle-class white men rising up against the murder of black prostitutes before they thought of themselves as having something in common with them?
