the plague ✖ (angelika & frankenstein)
Cold hues analyzed each of the other scientist’s movements- not out of caution, but merely curiosity. She noted his interest in her room and instantly thought of ways she could utilize this interest for her own personal gain. Throughout her lifespan, she quickly learned how to gain control of any situation and use it towards her benefit; this quality alongside immense planning led her to remain a couple steps ahead of everyone else back in her original universe.
The woman remained placed on top of the steel counter, only bobbing her feet slightly as she listened to the other. Her capacity for listening to others wasn’t too expansive; however, it definitely grew upon talk of ideas and anything related to science- especially the kind of science that she had always been interested in.
”Oh? I didn’t know you were both a scientist and a carpenter; how incredibly interesting.”
How coincidental that the two both seemed to have a focus on body modification- or rather, enhancement. She figured that she could make use of him when it came to adjusting her work space; however, while her previous ‘home’ had scientists that wished to assist her vision in any way possible, this might not have been the case in this new setting.
Her smile only grew more sinister in nature. Despite frequent disposal of some test subjects, her experiments would bring her actual joy.
”Your assumption is absolutely correct. Before I arrived here, my body was absolutely remarkable. Of course, I wasn’t so selfish as to limit this experimentation to myself.”
Her ideals certainly had Frankenstein's interest more than piqued, and much closer to fully invested. Whatever thoughts he had about her mysteriously sinister aura -- which he really didn't find threatening at all -- were now subdued, and were met with questions about her own experimentation. The scientist merely wondered if they'd be willing to share each others' notes and results freely. Possibly even become allies, spreading their knowledge amongst the city.
He stuck a single hand in his pocket, chuckling.
"Having lived for a millennium, one has no choice but to take matters into their own hands." Then again, he's also got enough money from running -- and founding -- a school that he could just hire someone to build things himself. After all, he's got three capable young men to rebuild his school whenever they destroy it.
But why in the world would he hire someone to build a secret lab in his own basement?
Noticing her slowly increasing grin -- albeit quite sinister -- Frankenstein stood still in his spot in front of the wall, crossing his arms. "Oh, I'm not selfish whatsoever, if that is what you are implying. There are plenty who wish upon themselves better abilities and come to me to obtain them." His voice had a small hint of pride, although subtle. Being over a thousand years old, he had experienced destruction and hatred against him due to all the experiments he had performed.
It was very unfortunate he had burned his research in the process.
