genuinely cannot fathom a reason you'd exclude cis men but not trans men from a gender-based thing unless u fundamentally do not see trans men as men which is like the most basic obvious transphobia ever and yet this is how apparently a vast number of them want to be treated. or at least it is when they're trying to beat down some transfem about some shit they just made up
Because the only reason gender based exclusion is justifiable is so the underclass of the patriarchy can have safe spaces from their oppressors. Trans men are part of this underclass? cis men are not.
trans men can and do benefit from patriarchy especially over trans women. the idea that trans men can never benefit from male priviledge because of our agab is literally transphobic
Cis women can also benefit from the patriarchy. The point is trans men are part of the oppressed underclass, which is the only justification for those spaces in the first place.
except that trans MEN are still in the category of people who benefit from a society that values MEN and MASCULINITY more. the difference between cis WOMEN and trans MEN in this case is op is talking about spaces meant to exclude men, specifically because they are not the primary targets of patriarchy and sexism. nobody is saying individual men cant experience oppression on different axis, but being trans doesnt absolve someone of their ability to benefit from male priviledge (especially trans men who pass). and the idea that womens spaces should reduce people to their genitals so that trans men can be involved/count as women is both transphobic to trans men and also implicitly reveals a bias against including trans women (a much more vulnerable group who is almost always excluded from womens resources)
Youve got to be stupid if you think society values TRANS TRANS TRANSmasculinity.
TRANS TRANS TRANS men are part of the the primary targets of patriarchy and sexism.
Gender segregation should ONLY ever to counteract the patriarchy. there is no other purpose for it.
There is every reason to use our brains and realise that being a TRANS TRANS TRANS man is a different SOCIAL CATEGORY to cis men.
You do not need to separate people by genitals in order to use nuance on gender identity vs enforced social category.
trangender men are not and have never been the PRIMARY TARGETS of patriarchy. maybe you just dont know what words mean if you think that. MAN is a social category that trans MEN still fall into regardless of being trans. in every way that society values being a man over being a woman i still directly benefit over that even if i have a vagina- i still spend less on Man(tm) products, i get treated with more respect in conversations, media caters to my internality and doesnt reduce me to a sex object... like serious me being trans doesnt actually impact the majority of things i benefit from.
if you want to talk about TRANS OPPRESSION, why dont we talk about the reality that trans women face the VAST MAJORITY OF ANTI-TRANS VIOLENCE, ANTI-TRANS DESCRIMINATION, AND ANTI-TRANS LEGAL PERSECUTION. its almost like a fundamentally patriarchal society specifically targets WOMEN and FEMININITY in general. the same way a black man has priviledge over a black women, a trans man has priviledge over trans women. and even cis women in some instances! because our society values men!
and to your last point, not only do people straight up not ask me whats in my pants before giving me these male priviledges (because as it turns out sexism is way more complicated than that, funny!), but if we were to assume that society only punishes people based off their genitals then that wouldnt explain why trans women are consistently the most maligned group out of anybody. the reason your explainations cant even line up with basic facts like this is because it fundamentally misunderstanda what patriarchy even is.
The patriarchy is based around controlling the reproduction of people capable of childbearing, so regardless if youre a man and a woman, most trans men are directly targeted by misogyny and patriarchy, they arent the "primary" targets of patriarchy.
Sorry but your "privileges" sound incredibly subjective and arent universal. Who's forcing anyone to buy any "man" vs "woman" products, and do you think this is true for every trans man, and that conversely every woman, trans or not spend a lot of money on "woman" products?
Im puzzled by "media caters to my internality", because if you're talking about representation in mainstream media, how many trans man characters do you see that are also written well? This "privilege" rests on the assumption that cis male representation is sufficient.
