I ask the question why a majority of those I fell in love with are avoidant people. Nothing else compares to the reciprocation of this love, it is a desire at the core of my being, and this desire cannot fit neatly into what is currently socially or legally acceptable. So I feel this love as a divine gift, a weapon for change. The meaning of my name Rafael, is the healing of God, and my love feels like divine spiritual power that could heal the sickness of avoidance and cowardice. I refuse to deny the divinity of the feeling, it must have spiritual meaning. I reject pathologising words like 'obsession'. I reject all these cowards who align their morality with the law.
