When you run away from your darkness...

I felt like I was always meant to be a half to complete, and that I needed a half to feel complete, to make a greater whole.

That is what ultimately broke me.

I lost so many pieces of myself giving away to contribute to that greater whole, my time, my energy, my guidance, my voice... my heart. And for so long, I wanted to feel that completion. In that time, I would only hold those broken pieces of myself long enough to put them back together, only to break even more before I could truly heal. And each time I broke, there was more to hold and rebuild.

I was crumbling to only be half, never becoming whole. I kept giving my pieces away, surrendering my value until I wasn't valued. Rebuilding took longer, the cracks would continue to show, and when I thought I was finally put together and ready to give once more, much was taken, the remainder left in ruin.

I wasn't just holding pieces of myself together, my whole foundation shattered. I had to completely start over. From ground zero. With all that I had left, I had much work to do.

Piecing myself together as I am now, I am restoring the half of me scattered in ruin. When I finally complete that half, I am growing into being whole...
