The ‘Owl Sector’, Transmission event, was an ARG that released right before the 'Rise of Iron’ expansion for Destiny [1].

Players started noticing strange buffs on their Guardians.

Some Twitch streamers when receiving the buff, would see in their chats,

owl_sector: “We’ve detected an unidentified foreign intrusion into your systems, Guardian. Stay calm. We will investigate.”

Magnificence 2.0

Fortitude 3.1

It only really effected Guardians, so it was mostly fine

Soon the map was covered.

Buffs being spread, Guardian to Guardian. In the Crucible and Strikes, at random, no one was safe, but we didn’t care. We wanted those BUFFS

With each new buff you also got a swarm of tech mites that would dance around our heads and look awesome.

The Owl Sector tried to quarantine us Guardians (in lore, not in actually game) but we laughed at them, and threw things.

While this was going on message logs became available on the site.

Then the event ended, the expansion dropped and we moved on. Like a Guardian do.
