SAVIOR’S RESPITE CERTAINLY HELD TRUE TO ITS NAME, and though he was no savior per se, he found a comfort in the isolation, a peace in the nothingness beyond but a vast ocean, as if he were the last man on this Earth. But as of late, this solace felt tainted, poisoned by a quiet loneliness reaching for his shoulder. He had been able to outrun it for so long, dismiss it as little more than a thought, but… this time, it was far too real a feeling to ignore.
He paid it no mind for now however, resuming his experiments and observing the results– the likeness of a dove constructed of earth and his magic, engraved with floral patterns– flutter above his head. A nagging prickle at his spine would soon beckon his attention, head scarcely angling toward a shoulder. Usually his senses were so much more astute, even when preoccupied, but he supposed this the work of presence concealment. He is forced to acknowledge this particular company, he does so evenly and without deterring focus from his work.
❝ Assassin of Red. ❞ he addressed his former… associate, brief as it may have been, without ire nor fear, ❝ It has been some time. ❞
Caster did not delight in small talk, so rather than wile away the minutes tip-toeing around the crux of the matter, his creations settled on his shoulders, while he turned to then fix her with a stare.
❝ I cannot wait to find out what brings you here. ❞ Perhaps the scenery has charmed her as well, but he must remain wary nonetheless.
As expected, while her presence concealment certainly does its job properly, it is no match for the cleverness of an old acquaintance. The game was over if it could ever really considered that in the first place. "Oh? You're able to recall who I am..." That amuses her, it's cause enough for one of her sly smiles. To think that they would be able to meet each other again in such a place, in this...Savior's Respite seemed fitting.
"I simply felt a presence, which I followed." It was not hard to discern the aura of their kind and she had made it a habit of knowing just who exactly found their way to this city. Eyes then fall to the creatures that sit upon his shoulders. Semiramis is not surprised, in fact, it only serves to further her amusement. That he would conjure dovelike creatures, she cannot help but suspect that such creations had been intentional.
As usual, he is straight to the point in the conversation. "I like it, the scenery. You so happen to be intruding upon the place in which I feel most at ease." Not that his presence changes that fact. They were no longer enemies, no longer had any ties at all, so why should she feel threatened? But even knowing that, she does not let down her guard and the same can be assumed of him. "I assume you move independently, now. Free of a master." How nice that must have been if it were true.
"Or perhaps you have yet to find them, whoever they may be."
