After all this time (ok, since it's construction in the 80's), Scotia Plaza has remained an interesting landmark in #Toronto's cityscape. If you ever want to have sushi the way people did in the 1980's, check out the concourse π£ #TOtidbits #currentmood #igers #igerstoronto #architecture #love (at CF Toronto Eaton Centre)
Toronto's Little Detroit? Nope, just a heritage faΓ§ade restoration and future condo. Ride up, Yonge Street, rise up ππ½ #totidbits #Toronto #igerstoronto #architecturelovers #architecture #canada #love (at Toronto Reference Library)
A beautiful Italianate structure modelled on a church in Rome, St. Paul's Basilica was established in 1822 as the first Catholic congregation in #Toronto. It's seen the rise, fall and regeneration of Corktown. Oh and #jesustakethewheel it's gonna be one of those weeks. #totidbits #igers #igerstoronto #instamood #instagood #architecturelovers #architecture #canada #love #mood (at St. Paul's Basilica)
What graffiti? Every summer, over a 24 hour period, #Toronto's kilometre long graffiti alley is legally painted by a collective of artists. When economic development meets urban planning, I dig βπΌοΈ #totidbits #toronto #love #latergram #architecturelovers #instagood #instamood #canada #fun #igerstoronto (at Graffiti Alley)

The Georgian, Palladian-style Campbell House was built in 1822 and once stood 1.6 km away, in what became an industrial area. In the 1970's Hallmark wanted to demolish the house but the Advocates Society organized it's move (on flatbeds) and it was opened as a museum by the Queen Mother in 1972 ππ½ #totidbits #toronto #igerstoronto #igerstoronto #architecture #architecturelovers #instagood #instamood #canada #love (at Campbell House Museum)
When you live in a petite enclave in Downtown #Toronto, every bit of light helps. While my neighbourhood is somewhat protected against block busting, the edges continue to be encroached by additional towers. Fact of life in a booming city, I guess π #totidbits #architecture #architecturelovers #igers #igerstoronto #canada #instamood #instagood
The @deltatoronto skywalk connection is giving me all sorts of geometric feels! Love this extension into South Core from the Financial District! #totidbits #toronto #igers #igerstoronto #architecture #canada #instagood #instadaily #love #monday (at Delta Toronto)
Urban renewal + orthodox modernism + public housing = the USSR, I mean St. Jamestown. Harsh as it may look, it is a vibrant, affordable vertical community on the periphery of Downtown #Toronto π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’π’ππ’π’π’#TOtidbits #architecture #modernism #sunday #instamood #instagood (at St. James Town)
In a world of sandstone, sometimes you have to be vitrolite. Four #Toronto icons in one perspective: Union Station, CN Tower, the TTC & the Royal York. I love the new plaza in front of the station, even if it did take about 67 years to install as part of the Union upgrades ππΎ #currentmood #architecture #igerstoronto #canada #architecturelovers #TOtidbits (at Union Station)

Found Sweet Jesus before Kinky Boots, which is appropriate for a date night in the Entertainment District or whatever King West is actually called these days. Have to say, I'm digging this area these days! #kinkybootsTO #totidbits #igers #igerstoronto #toronto #architecture #architecturelovers #lovr #canada (at Figo)
Shining bright like a π, the Dineen Building was brought back to life in 2012 with a comprehensive renovation. The cafe and restaurants feature original ceilings from 1897, and its sprague elevator was the first one outside of NYC. Love what this spot has done for #Yonge! #totidbits (at Dineen Coffee Co.)
Don't worry Lucy, I don't think you're a Nazi. Never a dull moment in King West, redeveloped mostly after the early 90's recession when #Toronto removed almost all planning restrictions on the old industrial buildings here. Today, it's a mix of trendy, hip and yuppie with a touch of bro on the weekend #totidbits #igerstoronto #igers #lucy #peanuts #instamood (at Gusto 101)
Bay Street density, aka an urban planner's dream ππ½ As Canada's financial spine, Bay naturally has the country's most expensive office space. This stretch predates the boom of the 1970's, and we can see a bit of art deco and early modernism! #totidbits #toronto #igerstoronto #igers #architecture #architecturelovers #canada #instagood #instamood #love (at Arcadian Court)
Sick with a sinus infection, so here's a #latergram from atop a Ferris wheel in Toronto's Distillery District. Once the Gooderham Worts Distillery, this assortment of Victorian industrial buildings became a dump, movie set and is now a cultural / commercial precinct owned by one lucky corporation. In the winter, I have a love / hate relationship with the @toxmasmkt, beautiful but so busy ππ #totibits (at Toronto Christmas Market)

The Gooderham Building, locally known as the #Flatiron, was originally built in 1845 and reconstructed in this form in 1892. It functioned as the office block for George Gooderham, the owner of #Toronto's now iconic Distillery District. It's part of one of my favourite vistas in the city ππ½#currentmood #igers #igerstoronto #architecture #architecturelovers #love #instamood #instagood #canada (at Gooderham Building)
