So... Hi? You may call me Lana, I'm somewhat of an artist in training and I'm glad to meet you)

It's my little lair for escapism from the reality.

Here I post occasional art, talk about video and table top games, OCs and other stuff I'm interested in.

On my main blog I mostly post my own art under tag my art. Now mostly Rogue trader fanart because I'm having a hyperfixation... But I'm also learning how to make character and creature concept art (tag for it will be soon). There also may be occasional fanart on other things and D&D stuff.

Sometimes I post about my OCs and their lore with oc tag for it ( sometimes with the names, but the main tag is always present).

I'm still on that tarot/portraits thing :)

Thought I would finish Vincent's portrait today, but instead I've slept through the day and almost don't feel guilty about it :D

But I started to render faces for Vilhelm's and Veritas's portraits ( because tbh I like to render faces the most)

Because somewhere it's Wednesday still and I have a WIP yeah...

I'm pretty sure somebody tagged me, but I got lost in the last couple of weeks, sorry if I forgot 😢

A bit of process on trouble trio's portraits ( or for one of them, I decided to be consistent and do them by seniority).

I'm playing around with brushes ( and now I have way too many and can't stop uploading new. Send help.), materials and effects. Accidentally found out that Difference layer mode can give you fun 'metallic' effects. And I don't know if I like the fur brush pack yet... but yeah

They are not scary, creepy or whatever! They. Are. Just. Gross.

I can understand when bodyhorror is used for narrative and has anything meaningful and/or symbolic behind it. But more often it's done purely for a shock value.

What for did I just read all those pages about unspecified dermathological symptoms on some random people, dear author? What did they symbolize??

And at the same time the actual horror part of the book has the most stereotypical ghost story vibe ever.

Hah... that's would be unexpected turn off thought for a couple of days

They definitely do!

Vincent actually has "Brand of shame" as his darkest hour. Once in his youth he undertook a desperate attempt to save Veritas from the Black ship. In doing so he agreed to cooperate with inquisition agent who promised him aid in exchange for information about smuggler band Vince worked with at that time. He fully understood that after this his brethren likely would end up dead or worse, but he treasured his little sister's life more. Eventually Vincent was deceived, his comrades dead and he himself almost died alongside with them. And of course all the promises of rescuing sister were lies too. Vincent can't forgive himself for this treachery, and for the fact that his brethren fell for nothing. Their ghosts would haunt him till the day he's gone ( metaphorically, but still...).

Veritas carries guilt from the day of her psychic awakening. In Schola Progenium where she ended up after her and twins' father was killed in a rebellion she quickly became a target of bullying because of being whiny pampered princess she was. As years passed bullying became more and more violent and one day something snapped in Veritas. She can't remember what exactly was a trigger, but her ire quickly turned the room she and her bullies were in into flaming furnace. She doesn't know what haunts her most about this day - the fact that she killed albeit cruel but still children who could become somebody more valuable for the Imperium or the fact that she doesn't feel that much of remorse about their death. She still feels burning hate towards their memory. And she feels guilty for this hate.
