TW: Opinion Racism is stupid. You call someone a slur, then when you're confronted for it, you say it's "just a word"? Yes, it's a word, yet it's laced with a harmful and malicious intent towards the person you're saying it to. Calling darker people names that would hurt them is NOT funny. It's just a skin color. It doesn't hurt you. We were all made differently, so were you. You may be lighter than them, but you don't have an exception or privilege. Same thing with saying "ching chong" to Asian or Canadian people. Saying they're squinting, telling them they eat bats, cats, or dogs. Asians aren't yellow. TW: Opinion Saying "Do teachers give you extra time on tests?" is ableist and here is why. Saying, commenting, or posting that sentence refers to calling someone who is different from you autistic. I'm not immediately saying that it directly means you're calling them autistic, but you imply so. Like, if someone posts about their liking to airplanes or dinosaurs, that doesn't immediately mean they have a mental disability. I like dinosaurs and fossils, but that does not mean I have autism. "It's just a joke!" Yet the joke is harmful to people. If it's a joke, why is no one laughing? A joke is meant to be funny, not malicious. "Get sent to e*st*in" is a gigantic example of making a joke on something that is not meant to be joked about. Rape is not meant to be joked about. Always think before you speak.
