So we fake tradition because in the end, after all the trouble we go through to fight it, we actually need it to survive.  

I heard a podcast yesterday about a straight woman who married a gay man so they could have a family. She knew at that age chances of finding the right man were slim and came to a reasonable and rational agreement.

Can we agree that tradition continues to be important but that we as humans have evolved to extremely complicated depths and layers of truths? Can we stop fighting what comes to us naturally? (Is there really such a thing?)

I find this relevant because I live in a constant state of distrust an disbelief. And I think this is in big part because I’ve turned into my own unit rather than having an expanded network of support. I’ve only done this because I haven’t really had a choice. No one seems to around here. Or very few people and they are so protective of this little piece of sanity that they will protect it with teeth and nails. The untraditional is unwelcome.

So how do you marry untraditional with conventional?

I think you just do it. Just do it. But I generally think that you need two people, at least, in agreement to be able to fully do it. I am so willing to do it. But I really can’t do it alone.

Friday night rambling. Have had an intense month … An intense year. And sometimes I get really tired of constantly nodding and agreeing so I don’t cause a ruckus. Tonight I’m stirring shit up a bit. And you may not understand, and probably don’t but know this: indifference is a hurtful weapon and you’ve used it more than once… And so have I.
