You nearly choked on your next inhale, but managed to compose yourself. You could feel heat prickling beneath your cheeks, and you caught the amused gleam in Obi-Wan's eyes as he smiled up at you, lips curled like a leaf.

"I...I can stay—if you want," you stammered, feeling foolish that such a simple, innocent thing to say had caught you so off-guard.

Obi-Wan's smile grew into a tired, satisfied grin. Oh, you could never truly be annoyed at Obi-Wan, not even when he speaks in a way that metaphorically sweeps the ground out from beneath you, causing the air in your lungs to hitch on the way out.

You shook your head and let your knee press into the couch cushion. Gently and conscious of where Obi-Wan's arms and legs are, you lowered yourself onto your side, your head pillowed by Obi-Wan's shoulder.

Obi-Wan’s arm curled around you within an instant. His hand deftly trailed up and down your arm, fingertips soothing against your skin.

“Thank you,” he murmured, and you felt the soft scratch of his beard against your cheek as he inclined his head, pressing his lips against your temple.

You shifted further into his side as if you might bury yourself into his warmth, his soul—a place that seemed to cradle you. Gently callused skin brushed against yours, and you wondered if Obi-Wan had ever felt the same desire to carve himself into you, if only to remain warm and wanted forever. 

You wondered if that was how he felt with you pressed against his side and the sunlight beaming across the couch. Even underneath the sun’s gentle stare, you weren’t sure that its heat could ever be compared to the heat that radiated from Obi-Wan—as if his heart had been replaced with a sun of his own. 

As Obi-Wan’s exhaustion seeped into you, infecting you like a disease, you took his free hand that had been resting on his chest and brought it to your lips. In his weary haze, the Jedi could only half-heartedly murmur your name in question. 

 Against his knuckles, you whispered. 

“May thy love for thee burn as does the sun.”

You felt the upturn of his lips against your temple, and his hand squeezed yours in a silent response. 

May thy love for thee burn until the sun no longer shines.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Obi-Wan is far cuddlier than he would ever let on, primarily due to his status as a Jedi Master. He follows the Code to the letter and is a very pragmatic strategist, mainly on diplomatic missions, but also in handling your relationship within veiled secrecy. To an outsider, you would seem to have no connection beyond that of comrades in arms, colleagues or mentor and apprentice, depending on your personal connection with him, and that is all that the public eye would ever see. 

In private, however, Obi-Wan struggles to keep his hands to himself, because he cannot touch you freely anywhere else. He is partial to holding hands and likes to kiss your knuckles, but he’s also a fan of massages, both giving and receiving (you give him a hard time about holding back his noises, until you hear him moan for the first time and it turns your legs to melted butter.)

When it comes to hugs or kisses, he has no preference, because he treasures every single touch you give him or that he gives you, because he knows how fleeting these moments are, and he would never take them for granted.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Obi-Wan is one of the most kind-hearted men to ever grace the galaxy, or your life. As a best friend, he’s nothing short of polite and chivalrous, but the acts are never forced. Everything he does for you is authentic and candid; he doesn’t pretend to care about the lives he’s touched. He is fair and just, open and honest with you in ways no other has been before.

His council is invaluable. He supports you, offers advice and values your opinions as well. 

He wants you to know that being a Jedi does not mean giving you less than what you deserve, because he cannot be around as much as either of you want, but when you are together, he will make up for the absences however you want and rarely voices any complaint (except he always has a sarcastic little remark to make, because he knows it makes you laugh—you adore his sense of humor.)

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Obi-Wan loves a good cuddle. He was never afforded much physical affection due to his chosen path as a Jedi, so when the opportunity strikes, he’s on you like a heat-seeking missile.

He loves when you come to him, all warm and snuggly, and let him wrap his arms around your shoulders while yours fit snugly around his waist. He will never turn you down if you ask to be held, though he sometimes would prefer to be held, letting you pull him against you in bed and spoon him from behind. 

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

You and Obi-Wan have often shared fantasies of settling down, but nothing ever came to fruition. His responsibility is to the Order and to his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, and you would never give him an ultimatum; you already knew you were important to him and that you were an irreplaceable presence in his life. 

Obi-Wan is a bit of a neat freak, maintaining both a clean living space as well as proper hygiene and a somewhat rigorous self-care routine. He is heavily disciplined due to his training and personality, and that often bleeds into his daily life or when he has down time. He can make a pristine bed, fold laundry (including fitted sheets—please teach me Space Dad Kenobi) and cook a full-course meal. He didn’t have to learn how to cook, because there are plenty of pubs he could visit and the Temple does have a cafeteria as well, but Obi-Wan is a bit particular and likes things just so, as well as the fact that he takes pride in his own capabilities and having the tools and the skills to thrive on his own if it ever became a necessity. Now, however, his life skills are put to use for you, because his primary love language is acts of service and the more he can do for you, the more content he is within himself and the Force. 

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Obi-Wan never wanted to be the man to ever break your heart, but if a mutual breakup had to occur, or even one-sided, if a line had been crossed which could not ever be remedied or one of you wounded the other in ways which would not heal, then he would take the loss with dignity. 

He knows he would never do a thing to hurt you or to cause mistrust or resentment, so perhaps the only reason the two of you might break up would be that he isn’t around much, or if he felt that he was unable to balance your relationship with his responsibility to the Jedi Order. He doesn’t want to hold you back from having the life he knows you want, and even though it would destroy him on the inside, he would let you go, if he knew it would give you what you needed. 

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Obi-Wan loves to indulge his fantasies and imagine a life in which he is married to you, but unfortunately, this is not possible given his commitment to the Order. There’s no doubt that he is fully committed to you, but marriage isn’t something he felt he could give you, mostly because he believes his love for you speaks for itself, without the added need of a ring, though on long nights or missions when he is away, he likes to imagine what your reaction would be, seeing him get down on one knee, and those thoughts always fill him with warmth. 

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Obi-Wan is very tender with you, physically as well as emotionally. He loves gentle touch, rubbing your back whenever he holds you, massaging your sides and hips or giving you sweet forehead kisses. Sometimes, if he must get by you, he’ll put his hand on your lower back to alert you to his presence as well as just using it as an excuse to touch you. 

He's very sensitive to your needs and how he approaches you. Communication is very important to him, so expect that he will be very attentive to your needs, as well as being extremely intuitive of your emotions. He can read you easily, having learnt the subtleties of your body language and facial expressions that define your every mood. 

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He loves hugs, but he’s going in for a kiss first if he can help it. 

He rocks you against him if you refuse to let go for a long time. He won’t ever be the first one to pull away; he knows that the longer you hold him, the needier you are for comfort, and he’ll never deny you that, even if his muscles ache from training sessions or a rough mission he’s just arrived home from. 

When you need him, he’ll be there, with his arms around you, one hand cradling the back of your head while the other lovingly rubs your back. 

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It takes Obi-Wan a surprisingly long time to say it, because he lets his actions speak for him. His care and concern for you take precedence to any words he could say, but on long nights when you’re both snuggled in each other’s arms, he’ll pull you in a little tighter and whisper to you in a richly accented voice hushed with sleep, “I love you, so very much, my dear…”

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Anakin fans the flames of your relationship, or at least stokes the embers, because there is no fire behind his or your actions. Anakin tells you about interactions Obi-Wan has had on various missions, or examples that might have been considered flirting if they’d not been taken out of context, just to see if he can get you riled up. He does the same thing to Obi-Wan, especially regarding himself, commenting to his former Master how you’d been unable to take your eyes off him, and Obi-Wan’s scowl is enough to keep the younger Jedi entertained. 

If it weren’t for the Chosen One’s shenanigans, you and Obi-Wan would rarely, if ever, feel jealous. You trust each other enough and are secure within your relationship that you never have to question the other’s loyalty, but Anakin’s hunger for chaos often gets under Obi-Wan’s skin and he can’t help but remind the young man that, if it were possible for you to have a wandering eye, then he may want to consider that Padmé might as well…  

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Obi-Wan’s kisses are soft and sensual, like his lips are caressing your inner glow, polishing your heart so that it reflects his love back onto the world, because he wants to heal not only you with his tenderness, but all that his love touches, through you. 

In private, he loves proper make out sessions, holding you close either on his lap or seated beside him while he leans over you, his lips devouring yours in languid, warm, immersive kisses long enough for your cheeks to redden from beard burn, but he knows you love the scrape of his beard against your soft skin because it reminds you of how real the moment is and you grab onto it with everything you have, your iron grip refusing to loosen on him as you pull him in and lavish him with kisses. 

If you really want to drive him wild, kiss his neck and listen to him struggle not to moan. 

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Obi-Wan is excellent when it comes to childcare. He treats children with respect and care, bending down to their level or getting on his knees to face them so that they don’t see him towering above them and become frightened, and he also wants them to feel valued and respected, and getting on their level is a part of that for him. 

He’s used to dealing with children because he is a Jedi Master and has had a Padawan, therefore, he knows what he’s getting into when they idolize him because of his chosen profession. He’s very humble, entertains their interest and answers any questions they may have, but he’s always impressed by the way children interact and the nuance within their words and actions which most adults seem to overlook because they don’t place the same merit on interactions with children as they do other adults. Obi-Wan, however, does his best to make children feel heard and seen, something he felt he had to fight for at their age. 

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

There are two ways Obi-Wan likes to spend his mornings that he would consider to be perfect: cuddling you in bed, or following your morning routines together, side by side. 

He loves to hold you while you sleep, honored by the trust you’ve put in him to care for you in such a vulnerable state. He typically wakes up before you and pulls you in, watching your eyelids flutter as your lips part in a tired groan and he hopes that the movement won’t rouse you as he settles against your body and nuzzles into your soft hair, inhaling your sweet scent and pressing kisses along the exposed side of your face. 

When you do wake up, he likes to talk to you, discussing plans for the day, what you’d like for breakfast, anything that comes into his mind is up for discussion, and his voice carries a certain heaviness to it, the vestiges of sleep still lingering in the rich folds of his accent, caressing your inner ear in honeyed dulcet whispers. 

If he has time to spare and doesn’t have to rush off to a Council meeting, he likes you to join him in the refresher, to follow your morning routines side by side, sharing products and conversation, and secretly, he adores your choices of moisturizers and cleansing tonics and likes to add new finds to his own routine, and you offer them without a single tease, which he’s eternally grateful for. 

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Obi-Wan is never too tired for you, despite the long hours he spends on various training sessions with Anakin or in dull meetings with the Jedi Council, but on nights when he’s simply too exhausted to do much other than hold you close, he likes to talk about his day and he is so grateful when you give him your full attention. 

When he’s not had too long of a day, he likes to dote on you a bit more. 

One of his favorite acts is to give you a massage. At first, it was just him gently rubbing your shoulders and back, beneath your shirt, before he realized how much you liked it, spellbound by the sounds of pleasure his steady hands drew from you, and then he began to develop his routine. He would buy scented oils to knead into your skin, leaving you soft and warm as he massages the tension out of your muscles (this is also an extremely welcome addition to your usual routine, especially if you have chronic back pain, or even if you don’t.) Sometimes, if the weather is cold, he’ll use lotion when he massages you because the dry air makes your skin crack. 

You have to beg him to let you massage him, though, because he prefers to give rather than to take, but your hands on his body are enough persuasion and he can’t help but resign himself to your capable, tending touch.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Obi-Wan is a very private man. He doesn’t divulge anything about his personal life or his past that he isn’t ready to discuss, which might cause tension in your relationship, especially if a bomb is dropped or you find out something particularly defining, and what makes it worse is if the source you heard it from isn’t Obi-Wan himself. 

Trust takes time to build, however, and once he feels secure, he’ll offer tidbits here and there and you’ll begin to feel comfortable asking him questions about himself and in turn you’ll tell him things about you. 

Any question that you ask him will always be met with the utmost honesty, even if it’s something painful or difficult to hear. 

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Obi-Wan is the most patient Jedi Master when it comes to dealing with others. He is diplomatic and tactful, remaining calm and maintaining stoic detachment as he mediates heated discussions and arguments. His main source of frustration is Anakin, because the young Jedi knows how to push his buttons and get under his skin, and he must remind himself that patience is a virtue—one that Anakin Skywalker has yet to learn. 

Obi-Wan never grows frustrated or angry with you and if, for any reason, he were to snap at you, quick apologies are offered, and he makes amends through kind words and acts of love and devotion. He’s never kidded himself that he is as patient as Qui-Gon was with him, but he’s learnt to channel his frustration and negative emotions into the Force and to use them for good, rather than let himself steep in them. 

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Obi-Wan has a good memory and he makes it a point to remember the things you tell him, specifically so that he can surprise you with his vast curation of knowledge relating to you, and because it can work to his favor in the future in terms of gift ideas for you, activities to do together, etcetera.

He never forgets important dates, but there are the occasional moments, however, particularly when Obi-Wan is utterly spent and he might forget something you’ve told him, but a gentle reminder always prompts his memory and he’s swift to remedy the confusion, offering the sweetest kiss on your temple as an apology, but he knows you aren’t angry, giving him grace in that you can tell he is barely keeping himself together due to his exhaustion. 

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The first time you trusted him to hold you. 

Physical affection was a hurdle you couldn’t get past and Obi-Wan was understanding, never pried for a reason and agreed to and accepted the waiting period that came with any deep expressions of affection. It made his heart clench in his chest when you tensed in his arms, and he felt his stomach twist in alarm—he was afraid he had rushed you. 

The moment when you finally slumped into him, your tension beginning to melt away when you realized that all he was going to do was cradle you in his arms, was one he’ll never forget. 

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Obi-Wan is very protective, not because he doesn’t trust your judgement, but because he doesn’t trust anyone else’s in relation to you or the situations their malfeasance and recklessness could potentially put you in. He won’t be overbearing, but he’s also not going to stand idly by and let you fall into trouble. 

As a well-trained Jedi Master, Obi-Wan doesn’t need to be physically protected, but he likes reassurance that everything is well in your relationship and that nothing has changed in the way you feel about him. 

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts in as much effort as he can, but mostly, you just prefer his time rather than any gifts or extravagant celebrations. Whatever the occasion, you want his closeness, not his credits—he’ll often take you to Dex’s Diner and you love sliding into your preferred booth there, ordering a hot meal and chatting to your heart’s content. Other times, when time allows, he might take you somewhere special, a beautiful planet like Naboo, where you can take romantic strolls through endless gardens and admire the night sky, or steal a sweet moment of intimacy away from the watchful gaze of the Jedi Council and all the pressing responsibilities of your equally busy lives. 

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Obi-Wan is a stickler for rules. If anything must be done, it will be done the right way and there won’t be any deviation or cutting corners. 

He also struggles with reciprocation of emotions at first, mainly when it comes to showing you how he feels. He doesn’t hide his emotions, but he subdues them. 

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He is humble regarding his appearance, but he desires professionality, in both communication as well as appearance. He is fond of looking presentable, but he doesn’t devote a lot of time to it, he’s just effortlessly stylish, perfectly poised and impeccably elegant, some of which might be due to his disciplined upbringing. Obi-Wan is sophisticated and refined, every tiny detail falling into place naturally. 

The only thing he puts much effort into appearance-wise is his self-care routine, which is a method of relaxation rather than to make himself look good. He likes to moisturize his skin with various creams, some of which are designed to aid the aches and pains he sustains from missions and training, and he’ll use oils to soften his skin and ease his mind and relax his body before meditation. 

He’s always neat and well-groomed, but that is because he wants his outward appearance to reflect his uncluttered mind and gentle grace. 

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He never knew what wholeness was until he had you. 

Obi-Wan would be lost without you and it would take many years to recover, letting the grief settle within him until he had learnt to live with it, but the ache would never leave. He would not wallow in his sorrow, but the loss would change him, and he would struggle with having no one to talk to about it, and even though Anakin would try to get him to open up about it, he’d never dump that on the young man. 

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Obi-Wan likes for you to ask him for favors. He feels that, by providing you with his expertise, he’s meeting your needs in a way far superior than with mere words. He wants to cater to you, to give you himself through acts of service, and when you ask him to do something for you, it shows him that you are understanding and want him to provide for you. He doesn’t wish to come between you and your independence, but it means a lot to him if you’ll occasionally allow him to take care of you.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

A lack of manners or personal hygiene. Obi-Wan isn’t obsessive over his own appearance, but there are certain measures which he sustains and standards he expects his partner to uphold. 

Trust, honesty and loyalty are also very important to him. In a galaxy where all a person has is their word, if he cannot have faith in your truthfulness and place value on your word, then he might as well not have a relationship with you, because a healthy relationship is built on trust in one another.  

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

He’s an incredibly light sleeper and he insists on sleeping on the side of the bed that’s closest to the door, just in case danger presents itself and if someone were to creep in during the night, they’ll have to go through him to get to you. 

Anytime you get up or move around in bed, it wakes him up, but he doesn’t mind. He’s never been a sound sleeper and if you do get up for any reason, he will want to check on you to make sure you’re alright. 

Sometimes, he’ll let out a few gentle snores if he’s sleeping well, which is infrequent since he doesn’t often get into a deep sleep. 

If he’s feeling stressed, he hugs his pillow, something you discovered one night when he had had an argument with Anakin the day before.
