got reminded of this absolute max serve
"Kimi and Max had similar experience levels coming in to F1"
"Kimi skipped F3 just like Max"
Kimi pre-F1:
4 years of single seater experience (F4 2021-2022, Formula Regional in F3 cars 2023, F4 2024)
115 single seater races + 2 GT3 races (wikipedia)
~9000 KM of empty track private testing in the previous year's F1 car (planetf1)
Max pre-F1:
1 year of single seater experience (Florida Winter Series and F3 in 2014)
47 single seater races (wikipedia)
Max didn't equal the number of single seater races Kimi had participated in pre-F1 until mid 2018: 47 (F3) + 19 (2015) + 21 (2016) + 20 (2017) + the first 8 races of 2018. (formula1)
At the beginning of 2026, Kimi was at 139 single seater races. Race 139 for Max is mid 2019, specifically Hockenheim: 47 (F3) + 19 (2015) + 21 (2016) + 20 (2017) + 21 (2018) + the first 11 races of 2019. (formula1)
And if you don't think 2019 Max could do what Kimi is doing in 2026 in a rocket ship with an underperforming/unlucky teammate AND nearly every other top team driver being plagued with mechanical failures, please be fucking for real.
Marco Antonelli on the comparison between Max and Kimi
I think you can compare the talent a little bit as yes Kimi is in a rocket ship but where was his teammate in qualifying. Lando was in a rocket ship last year and almost lost to Max by 2 points.
I do understand your point all in all. Kimi has a lot of time to prove if it’s a one hit wonder which I truly doubt or be a multi championship winner or even score this championship strangers things have happened.
I can't compare it since he got the privilege to be in a top contending car right at the bat and doesn't even have to battle anyone aside his own teammate who is already giving up everything.
Max started at Torro Rosso. A midfield team. Had to fight tooth and nail to get decent results, great results even and why he got promoted to redbull mid season.
Was the redbull a rocket ship then? Oh no. Absolutely not. As we all know the Mercedes back then too had the upper hand.
Max had to race wheel to wheel against Lewis Hamilton, against Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen in great fast cars.
And then his first championship, against Lewis Hamilton in even machinery. The championship that had people sitting on the egde of their couches, screaming at the TV. Hard against hard. Make one mistake and you'll get eaten.
Last year where he fought back from a 104 point difference to a 2 point difference. Max who put the car in 1st place over and over again in 2023 that the team totally got bamboozled with the problems the car did have.
Right now? I am seeing (a talent young kid that's for sure) him just cruising a way without having to fight tooth and nail to get to the front. And with the FIA giving them more advantage now with the aduo... I totally don't see that happening anytime soon.
Don't say Kimi is the next Max when Max have been giving his everything, and actually had to fight for his place in the paddock with all the hate he got over him for being a young kid himself, getting bullied by other drivers yet stood his man and fought for what he has been fighting for all his life.
No hate to Kimi at all. He seems to be a great guy and has the talent but to me it's just dismissing what Max has achieved and done.

red bull racing you don't deserve to exist!
super max × kitty
The ADUO outcome is one that, rather than helping Mercedes' rivals catch up as they had hoped, could now ultimately end up hurting them in keeping the status quo or even resulting in them falling further away.
it’s incredible how every single problem we’ve seen with these regs so far has been accompanied by “well the fia offered the teams a way to avoid this problem but everyone refused and now they’re upset and want changes”
the annoying thing about the aduo is that EVEN IF it only covers ICE, the teams can now also make changes to the rest of the pu (ers, mguk etc)
so everyone get ready for another multiple years of merc dominance
but sure let's all go along with the bombastic "rbr has the best engine!!!" headlines and all the point and laugh punchlines because it's too much effort to point out that no, it fucking doesn't, it has (embarrassingly for the likes of everyone else) the best ICE part of the engine, which famously constitutes 50% of the power, it's nowhere near on the energy deployment part of the spectrum which is the be-all and end-all this year, the aero and chassis are subpar at best, but thanks to this utterly brilliant ✨closing the development gap✨ system with absolutely no blind spots whatsoever, all the other teams, including merc that's lightyears ahead for anyone with healthy eyes and working brain to see, will get to further develop their already superior assets
I saw ppl point out that merc can not bother upgrading their ice as aduo doesn’t require them to change it, they’re allowed to spend all additional budget on energy deployment parts, so we might end up stuck in a loop where merc will get aduo in next cycle again and rbr won’t be able to fix their deployment as they’ll remain a benchmark. merc played the system brilliantly I have to give it to them
You also can’t help but think that if it were Max who ended up with THAT many infringements, there’s no way he gets off completely scot-free. // Max got a penalty in Miami for being on the white line at the pit exit so he would never get that eyes closed treatment from the stewards. Not to mention that every single driver who got an infringement in Monaco also got a penalty, the only drive to get infringements and not a penalty was Hadjar, on top of that he had so many it’s unreal how biased the stewards were and how none of the teams protested, especially McLaren who would have had their driver on the podium….
This was the second race in a row where the team conducted themselves like absolute dumbasses at crucial moments, only to scam a podium because they just happened to be lucky enough to benefit from the incompetence/bad luck of faster teams. // while I agree, Canada was miles different, in Canada Max not only fought with Lewis, but drove impeccably, unlike with Hadjar who gathered 2 safety car infringements, the red flag infringement (which was on the team, but it still was before now a slam dunk penalty), cutting the corner while “defending” from Russell (which hasn’t even been noted) and depended on the stewards to save his ass
Oh no I 100 percent agree, Canada and Monaco were in no way the same. The incompetence I'm referring to in Canada was more so about the team fucking up Max's quali by giving him a setup he had already told them was bad, as well as just being shit at building a car in general. But Max absolutely drove like a driver who deserved to be on the podium even though the car didn't have the pace for it outside of everything else that happened. He was fully at a disadvantage to Hamilton during that final stint, and yet he held position until literally the final laps of the race, and even after finally being passed he still fought to try to take P2 back until the flag.
That's the thing about the way Max has driven; his raw number results won't show it, and of course, that's what everyone loves to focus on, but if you actually watch his races, he's clearly performing at a level above the rest of the grid. But he's being actively held back by his own team because the car is absolute shit. He's had to make multiple recovery drives, and sure, one was due to his own mistake, but the others were entirely due to issues with the car. And if the disasterclasses by Hadjar in Miami and Piastri in Canada are anything to go by, recovery drives are clearly not as easy as simply having a faster car than the backfield drivers. He's also the only non-Mercedes driver to qualify on the front row for a Grand Prix, and he did it in a car that's still 6kg overweight. When he drove at the Nurburgring, he was the best driver out there, and everyone was glazing him for how incredible his performance was.
It's just beyond frustrating at this point. Red Bull have one of the greatest drivers of all time in the prime of his career, and they're actively wasting his talents because they refuse to get out of their own way.

Petition to see the OG orb and Baby orb in race suits
little baby race suit oh my godddddd
sorry for crashing out in your asks but the amount of absolute bellends claiming to be RedBull and even Max fans I’ve seen saying Canada and Monaco were the same “luck”, not to mention those celebrating Hadjar…for what exactly? being favoured by the stewards? RedBull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Alpine and McLaren messing up big time? what exactly did Hadjar do? not gotten overtaken in a race with literally ZERO overtakes? (don’t get me started on the Alex giving the position to Arvid when he cut the exact same corner Hadjar did while Russell was 0.3 behind him, Arvid was further behind Alex and it was noted meanwhile the Hadjar one got ignored, another instance where the stewards turned a blind eye)… and defending Mekies??? “Hadjar has the same team principal and he was on the podium”, this much stupidity is unreal
It's honestly insane how delusional some people are, like yeah, congratulations, Hadjar was on the podium. A podium that he did absolutely NOTHING to earn. Zero impressive moves by him whatsoever. I've actually seen people trying to glaze him for "defending" his position and I'm just...I'm sorry, but what are we even talking about? Like hooray, he held position on a track that's borderline impossible to pass around anyway.
I also find it hilarous that anyone is using Hadjar and Max having the same TP to defend Mekies as if there isn't a clear pattern of Red Bull doing everything they can to protect Hadjar's reputation/confidence at Max's expense. The ONE weekend so far this year where the car was actually good and Max was able to pull a gap over his teammate that was more representative of the difference in skill between them (that being in Miami), Red Bull were very quick to ensure that it didn't happen again. Meanwhile, it took them months to address the problem with Max's steering wheel that he noticed in pre-season testing.
People love to say that the "second seat is finally being treated fairly" but like...come on. Let's call it what it is. This isn't "equal treatment", it's second driver favoritism at the expense of the superior driver, and by extent the team itself.
the reason why isack didnt get a pen for the safety car thing that george complained about today was cuz of the precedent HE HIMSELF set in canada last year lmao
oh im so glad THIS bullshit came back to bite him in the ass
i don't even know what to say. fuck everything and everyone involved in this season
actually i figured what to say. i am sick and tired of this artificial championship with its ai rules and regs, its manufactured superstar for the new generation of attention span deprived fans and blatant favouritism of a single most powerful player with his fingers in everything, who gets to call the shots while everyone else is either too spineless to speak up or ostracized if they dare
