Gonna finish the last mermay request tonight! As long as I'm not too sleepy after the gym. Just gotta lineart and color it.

Api or Cress. I don't think I've seen a "mermaid" design for those two yet.
This was a good opportunity to show Cress' fun colors! Instead of the common countershading I often give my toono characters, Cress' whole body is quite pale except for her limbs and the top of her head, which gradually become a darker green.

I think a robotic mermaid would look cool
Despite being a merm enthusiast, I've never drawn Api (my main blorbo) as one because I always thought it would look dumb. But I don't dislike this! He looks pretty cool!!
Virus, cause it would be funny
Since his design is based on a dragonfly, I decided that his merm form should be some kind of crustacean. Because crustaceans are just wet bugs.
It looks like I painted him with a maraquan paintbrush :'p
Art Fight added a new feature, you can describe the connections between characters now. Which I didn't care about at first, but I've had a lot of fun with it actually.
It's been a good way to get into the heads of all my characters and try to imagine what their perspective is of each other, because I did all the descriptions in-character. Each character is describing each other.
So far I'm only done with Api and Lotl.
Guess who have existed for 15 years today! :)
I haven't drawn his new design a lot since last year, I still don't have a set leg/feet design.

I've been making a lot of snart (snail art) recently, so I drew a Snotl (snail Lotl).
Trying.......to.....draw.......!
I have so many excuses to game, but I still choose to draw. Surely, I won't keep this up. Anyway, does this composition look nice? I want Lotl to be the focus.
I'm very happy to have finally managed to get that vent piece in my previous post out of my head. I've wanted to draw it for YEARS!! But I've not been okay and/or burnt out.
It's technically a vent piece, but it's a vent for a VERY BAD anxiety attack I had years ago. Which fucked up my system and mental for months, if not years. Tbh, I think I'm still trying to recover from it.
The ONLY help I've been able to find that gave any comfort was this article.
I have a nervous system made up of electric wire, electrocuting me from the inside out.
I was going through some old files, and I found this that I had kinda forgotten about. I think this is from 2020 or earlier. I know I was still depressed when I made it. I never posted it anywhere, because it was kinda personal, I guess.
It struck a chord with me; this is what I need to make more of. More conversations and expressions with Api and Lotl, aka the two sides of my psyche 🤪
Even during the depths of my depression, I knew I shouldn't pathologize my behavior and use it as an excuse to act on my ugly emotions. Even if it was a challenge sometimes, I couldn't afford to lose any chance for sympathy. I guess that is kind of what this comic was about.
