I find it to be very funny that one of the main points people had for the idea that ralseai was going to be evil pre-Chapter 3+4 was the whole "lets close our eyes and think of Susie" thing
Obviously, this was signaling towards the idea that Ralsei is aware of the Soul's presence and how it functions regarding its available perspective. However, people thought that Ralsei was trying to lead us away--that he was trying to distract from his "evil plans" with Kris or whatever. However, we can now deduce that he does this not maliciously, but for Kris's sake. He wants to give them the ability to separate from the Soul, even just for a little bit.
However, the reaction people had towards this, I believe, only strengthened Ralsei's motive and distrust towards the player.
I mean, we were separated from our oh-so-special Vessel for a few minutes? And we took that as "Ralsei is evil and should not be doing this"
The fact that we could not fathom being away from our all-seeing view onto Kris likely would only make Kris (and anyone else who knew about the Soul) extremely uncomfortable
