Here’s is a long awaited acquisition,it’s 1958 Gibson p90 that I got for a reasonable price. The pickup reads 7.9k which is my preffered range as opposed to most which prefer really hot readings around 8.5 to 9.5k.
The 7.8 -8 k range I finds gives me the right amount of clarity and bark.
So all I needed to get this guy was to add braided hook up wire and repair the crumbling bobbin. I might also have to get a replacement baseplate, since the original was designed to fit in the neck position of a hollow body .
I’m planning to put this pickup in Gibson historic 57 Les Paul Junior and I am planning on making some before and after video clips.
