if i wanted to be funny i could have the first name the crow gives her be glenn but i'll choose to be a little less on the nose. dale or shane or something so the little wink wink nudge nudge is still there but it's not beating you over the head

the way it looks to me is functionally a two part story or two act i guess and the first act is alternating perspectives where you have the crow being all sociable and getting people killed and being all cute and shady about his latent obsession with someone he's never met. and i think ultimately the big arc here will center on him meeting someone who kind of defies his expectations and is the closest thing he has had in a long time to a Friend until something happens but in my brain this chick's name is maggie (crow -> corvidae -> magpie -> maggie) and i feel so bad making a zombie apocalypse setting character named maggie it just like. feels right. and then in the meanwhile the fox's perspectives are these really meandering world explorations that are like deceptively low-action and has little dialogue. that still needs to be engaging though so i'm not sure how to do that. anyway the first act/part should function on a story as its own the crow has a complete arc and he's functionally the main character (and is still in the second part tbh)
