Touring Life

So been back for about a week and a half now but tour has finished and it was a great 9 months, i got to see some amazing places all over the world and meet some great people. I have had a great time touring the world and it was hard at times, i missed home a lot and got sick of hotel rooms and living out of a suitcase but all in all i am very glad i did it and proud of myself for sticking through it even when i wanted to give up. So for now this will be the end to my touring life but maybe one day in the future i will go back to it but for now i intend to stay back at home for a while and just enjoy being in one place.

Had a great week in Frankfurt, although a slightly tight venue we managed to make our show fit in and sold out most nights meaning that over our 4 week run in Germany we played to over 60 thousand people! Just had a lovely week and a half back home and now on to the home stint, only a week and a half left of the tour, first 4 days in Prague and then a week in Monaco. Tour is nearly over.

Went for a walk around Munich today on my day off and the architecture that i found was amazing, every building was as grand as the next and the amount of planning that must have gone into each really was impressive

Feel like i haven’t posted on here for ages but after Bregenz and a nice week home we took the show to Istanbul, Turkey and it was an experience, audiences loved it and the kids loved it even more, multiple audiences seemed to be made up of just kids but they all loved the show and had so much enthusiasm towards everything. Turkey was a bit of a crazy place outside of the theatre as well though, its a city that never stops, if you look out your window at any time of day or night there are cars and people everywhere, it really is a city that never sleeps. A great experience and somewhere i never would have thought of going myself. On the way home we took a short detour to Paris and had a two day stop off at Disneyland (my first disney park) and it was awesome, very very cold at -9 but still had a great time. Now coming to the end of a truly amazing week back home and we are off again tomorrow morning and i fly out for a 4 week stint in Germany starting in Hamburg. Lets see what it has to offer.

After a great 2 weeks in Lausanne we stopped off for a hectic week in Vienna, Austria. The audiences there loved the show and it was very pretty. Then we took an overnight tour bus to Bregenz where we opened last night to a packed house, they loved the show from start to finish. Looking forward to a great week here and then a nice week off back home.

Taking our show to the UK was an awesome experience, performing to sold out audiences most nights but the best part was my best friends came to see me and came to watch the show, when you travel it gets lonely so having friends come to visit makes everything ok again for a while. Now back to Switzerland again, this time in Lausanne, opening night was last night and although we had some issues it was still a great show and great response from the audience with a standing ovation. (Switzerland is pretty)

Cologne was great fun, it was very pretty and lots of christmas markets to go and wonder round on days off. As well as the sights though, the show went down brilliantly, sold out nearly every night and a fantastic response. Definitely somewhere i plan on going back to. Now after a short week back home for christmas. I have just arrived in Birmingham, the next 2 weeks here should be fun and really looking forward to both friends and family coming to visit and see the show. This should be a fun one.

Just finished 3 weeks in Italy and it was lovely, great food and beautiful sights, will definitely be going back again soon. Arrived today after a bus, a plane and another bus in Cologne for 3 weeks, plenty of time to do some Christmas shopping in the markets while it snows. Lets see what Germany has to offer

Well that was Saudi Arabia, what an experience, it was hard work and a lot of problems came up but we brought the wonder of live entertainment to a country that has never experienced it, our last show in the country sold so well that people were standing as we ran out of seats, the atmosphere was truly electric and amazing and taking our bow at the end of the final show made the experience worth the pain and hard times. Saudi still has a long way to go but one change at a time they will get there and it will be a whole different world so thanks and goodbye to venues 2 and 3. Now a short week back home before off to Zurich

So putting our show into Saudi Arabia has been such a major even in the history of the country thousands of people have come to see it and have not been able to thank us enough for making it possible. I hadn't quite realised how much of a big deal it was until i went for a walk round the theatre and found a huge festival had been put on to mark the occasion and was open 24/7 all in honour of our show. I walked around with some other members of our crew wearing our show lanyards just as we hadn't taken them off yet and we had people coming over to us to say thank you for putting on the show in there country and telling us we were inspirations to them and they even wanted photos with us. It really is so different how some people live there lives and how one show can make such a difference in there world
