But it was the motherload of all accidents.
Lucina had sworn to change the future, yes. That was her duty. Her promise to Naga, and to her people. Sheâd debated working from the shadows, but could that really protect her father? No, most likely not. The easiest and quickest way would be to join the Shepherds and tell them as much as she could.
WellâŚmaybe not the easier route. After all she had just let one her moreâŚunnecessary secrets slip.
Robin, the silver headed tactician that she knew to be a brilliant woman and the best strategist in the world (okay yes maybe she was a little biased but that WAS her mother after all), had a look of utter shock and disbelief on her face.
âW-what do you mean âmother?â â she asked softly. âI thought you were Chromâs daughter.â
âShe is. She has the brand in her eye.â Chrom said, looking just as confused as Robin was. Yes Robin was beautiful andâŚsure he had hadâŚsome thoughts on the matter buuutâŚSHE didnât think of HIM like THAT. Right?
âW-what do you m-mean Moth- I mean Robin.â Lucina laughed nervously.
Robin crossed her arms across her chest, shifting her weight to mostly one foot. âUh-huh. No, you definitely called me âmother.â I..â
Chrom zoned out as Robin continued to grill Lucina for information on her slip up. But was what she said true? Was Robin really Lucinaâs mother?
âRobin.â Chromâs lips moved faster than his head. That seemed to happen a lot around Robin. Oh well.
The tactician turned to him with a small pout. âYes, Chrom?â
âUhâŚthere isnâtâŚuhâŚanything you want toâŚ.tell meâŚis there?â
Robin stiffened slightly, her cheeks flushing red. âW-what? No. Nooo, absolutely not!â
That was definitely a lie. Even a fool could see that. Unfortunately, when it came to women, Chrom was less than clueless.
âO-oh. I-I see.â He scratched the back of his neck.
Lucina regarded the scene uncomfortably. Honestly, she couldnât believe that Robin and Chrom were soâŚawkward? She recalled them being very open with their love for each other. Doting even.
But she couldnât interfere in this. Right?
âI-I meanâŚyou are kind ofâŚawkward. itâs kind ofâŚfunnyâŚto w-watch.â Robin muttered. Her blush deepened and she coughed. âI suppose it could b-be labled as c-cute.â
âO-oh?â Chrom nodded. âI-I see. And I d-do think your strategies are especially genius. Like the woman that came up with them.â
Lucina let out an audible sigh. âGods you two are hopelessâŚâ she muttered under her breath.
âHey!â Chrom and Robin yelped. Lucina snorted.
âOkay. Iâm leaving you two to sort this out. I canât say anymore. As it is, I wasnât supposed to say THAT.â
âHOLD ON JUST A SECOND YOUNG LADY!â Chrom shouted, giving chase to Lucina.
âLUCINA COME BACK HERE!â Robin followed Chrom. Lucina sprinted a little faster, laughing.
Perhaps this was how her parents got together initially. After all, time travel was a funny thing.
