It was a quiet night at my favourite bar, a few people came in, some stayed and others left after a drink, nothing unusual for a Wednesday really. Us two girls, my best friend and me, went out to round off the day unhurriedly with a cocktail and a little chat. The bartender´s music choices were pleasantly unexciting, smooth eighties pop along with some well-known rock classics , altogether suitable music to have a talk over and not miss too much.

I was having my second Mojito and felt the rum slowly but steadily work its effect on me, when my friend pointed at a group of four young men who boisterously entered the bar like they owned the place. They were fooling around and laughing and had obviously already had a drink before they came here.

Picking up tomatoes at the farmer’s market and inhaling deeply to gauge their ripeness.

Sipping a hot cup of coffee and licking his lips.

Running his fingers over the spines of shelved books at the bookstore.

Talking to the cashier at the grocery store. With his VOICE.

Running in the park.

Sitting .. well ANYWHERE.. with his knees ten feet apart.

And then he looks at you with those eyes. And smiles.

OH MY FUCKING GAWD.

A guided meditation and relaxation recording I made. It’s not particularly Loki-ish, though perhaps it sounds a bit like Tom. I recorded it early in the morning so it’s somewhat deep and croaky. Feel free to follow along, it’s intended for beginners and contains no religious or spiritual elements, it’s hopefully accessible to everyone. There’s nothing you need to know or do, just lie back or sit down, relax and breathe.

i don’t know if anyone remembers me making frantic posts about it this past summer, but just a few months ago i was having literal panic attacks almost daily for a few weeks straight because i was faced with the possibility that i might not be able to return to new york for the year and that in turn would disrupt pretty much every other aspect of my life and i’d have to completely rework my plan for the next few years. i would have to stay in florida, something i desperately did not want to do, and i’d be set back, totally disconnected and disrupted from the new life i’ve made here in new york. i think i cried more in those few weeks than i have in my whole life combined.

but now. holy shit, now i am so happy i can’t even contain it. not only am i once again in new york doing what i’m meant to do, but i’ve successfully taken on the responsibility of my first job which is easing some of the financial strain that i put on my parents since i can take care of day to day costs myself now. 

and
