On a rant because I have nowhere else to put my anger. This whole disaster COULD.HAVE.BEEN.AVOIDED. Ive never been as upset as I am right now at the state of our country, especially since I live nearest to the most affected area. We couldn't even go out because the water was rushing into streets and was at waist level. I had no signal for the first day, so I assumed that the flood that came after was only a mild inconvenience, and not that it took so many lives. Driving past the people sitting outside in the rain after their homes have been flooded, or even destroyed, just destroyed me inside.

I know this isn't my usual squishposts, but I'm trying doing the most I can in this situation. Even if you don't have the funds to donate, sharing this would be great help. I've put in as much donation pages as I can but I urge you to seek out more, especially if you're in the Philippines since these aren't targeted directly to specific families/communities.

To make things worse, the donations we relied on have almost stopped. Days pass with no support, and sometimes we receive just a few dollars… not enough to buy a loaf of bread. 💔

Today, our only meal was a small plate of vegetable salad and dry bread, not enough for four people and a baby growing inside his mother’s womb.

But the moment that broke me… was when my little boy looked at me with tearful eyes, asking for something else to eat because he doesn’t like the salad. Then he began to cry. He doesn’t understand that we barely managed to get even this tiny amount of food, And me? I could only hide my tears, trying to smile at him while my heart silently collapsed, convincing him to eat because we have nothing else. 🥹

My dear friends, we are on the edge of famine. I’m not asking for much, just enough to feed my child and my family, so we can go to sleep without hunger, and live through one more day. 😓

Please, don’t leave us alone. Any support, any extended hand, could save lives here. 🙏🫂

Like, people were really going mask off and essentially reverting to Republican ways of speaking by going “well if they’re poor, why do they have phones?” “why’s the way they talk so weird?” “[x thing white people think only exists in western countries ] doesn’t exist in Palestine”

And they were allowed to get away with it. And people listened. And people agreed. And people harassed Ahmed so bad he had to leave Tumblr. And those people are still on here, posting their regularly scheduled content like they didn’t participate in one of the worst anti Arab campaigns I’ve ever seen.
