hii yea the server is still active. im just cutting back on my activity in the mha fandom on dicedrice accounts(especially twitter and instagram) ;P

heres a few things i do/things that helped me the most.. i tend to do a lot of observation work where i draw a bunch of figures on the same canvas usually focusing on one specific "field" that i wanna improve/study (things like form or value or proportions). i also like trying to replicate aspects of other paintings so i can apply them to my own artstyle/knowledge later- not exactly something like a master study where you copy the original work one to one but a looser form where i just use a few key details in my own way.

its important to strike a balance when youre copying from original pieces, i personally believe. if you dont really focus on what youre doing and just blindly copy pasting images or art you find interesting, you wont effectively understand how the original artist works. its also important to be transparent about your references.

It's been bugging me for a lot of time now, I've actually considered giving up drawing because of that.

thats a pretty long time to not be drawing i dont think ive ever experiences a stretch that long without it. be sure to be kind to yourself above all else cause im sure itll take some time to get back to a place youll feel secure in your work :< when i Do get in artistic funks the most helpful thing i do for myself is trying out new styles and techniques. since its something usually pretty new to me so whatever i end up with wont be tainted by expectations. also maybe trying to do a lot of smaller pieces would help ? things like small sketches of portraits or objects or whatever you like drawing could help instead of trying to instantly go into a big project that needs crazy coloring or composition..
