The Lost Coast - Savestate

Hello tumblr! The Masked Red here speaking and im here to bring you the Savestate Saga! an horrorbrew based story and upcoming comic series!

To put it simply the story takes place in an unfinished and discarded Nintendo game called "Outstanding Mariano: The Lost Coast", where we follow our group of victims and their adventure throught Kumodoki Island, a floating island in the sky far away from the mushroom kingdom.

The main cast of the Savestate Saga is made up by Mariano (Mario vessel), Hermes (geno "vessel" | in-game AI Guide), Louie (Luigi Vessel), Okashy (Yoshi vessel) and last but not least, the big bad himself and tormentor, Savestate (Bowser.sta).

This is what Kumodoki Island looks like.

In the story the Sun is completely missing, being replaced by an hollow fake that still acts as a sun and as a reminder of how unfinished STA's world is

In STA's world there are entities roaming the depths of dark places called DWELLERS. Dwellers are husks of character's models, quick to violence and extremely resilient.

i'll leave yall with this, STA has a "sinister minds" like album concept art with various Horrorbrew and Mario.exe characters called Evanescent Dwellers.

Hisshi No Kokoromi is Savestate's final form, his last desperate attempt to regain his control over the victims in his worlds as they were very close to resetting the game and being freed.

(Heavely inspired by Mahoraga, yes i am also a JJK geek) He has 8 horns, 4 coming out from the side of the head and 4 coming out off of the front. Although Savestate may look blind in this form, he's very much able to see. This form has 4 Arms, inspired by the very early Savestate design concept (oooh UglyState jumpscare ooooh)

Hisshi No Kokoromi rocks a black Hakama pants, ornated with plates around his waist, draping from his wait a banner is seen displaying a stylized Malware decorating it.

His tail is equipped with a spiked fin, a pattern at the end of it along with a ball shaped object fused to the tip, it's proper use is unknown, althought it's speculated to be used to hypnotize/confuse his victims.

Hey tumblr people! Sure has been a long while huh.

i've come to make an announcement, Savestate the comic is in the works, BUT before i'll be able to post the first chapter on here you'll have to wait for a looong while...

But untill then, have all the Savestate Saga comic concept panels so you have an idea on what awaits you! (they range from oldest concept to most recent, JUST A REMINDER THAT NONE OF THESE PANELS ARE CANON IN ANY WAY! THEY ARE JUST CONCEPTS) TW: Blood, Gore

AGAIN, nothing about these comic panels are canon, they are just tests of my skills.

The only thing somewhat relevant about these comics are the story bits especially in the first and last panel and the designs of the characters.

Yeah if you want to know more about my horrorbrew comic saga or it's universe you can ask me questions and i'll answer them if i feel like they seem pretty interesting to answer. (idk if that makes sense, just roll w it i guess lol).

Today is the 2nd anniversary of Savestate's creation and even with a pretty big artblock affecting me i managed to celebrate it! I hope you like it and have a wonderfull day! ^-^ Here's a Funfact about Savestate. He has 3 tongues, they're not used for anything but mocking others, the reason he shows them here its purely out of the joy of the art being whimsical with Mariano and Savestate having a party. Here's some more art pieces that i havent posted yet to celebrate today ^-^

Besides our main cast (Mariano, Louie, Hermes and Okashy) we have another group of survivor that stays hidden from Savestate, The Scraps!

The reason Savestate takes the form of bowser is because he is technically Bowser, his code was discarded for The Lost Coast and it did everything it could to put itself back into the game as the Bowser villain he was destined to be.

Tho it did cause the game to be shelved and his game to be unfinished so that didn't work out in Savestate's favour. 😬

Savestate and Bowser are not a 1:1 copy of eachother.

Savestate's personality is often seen as calm, collected, his way to talk makes it seem like he's not up to anything evil at all, but Savestate is a FAR worse being that Bowser.

The pattern on Savestate's arm is not a tatoo but a separate program called "Malwares".

Malwares act as sprider-like creatures that infect any character and temporarly gain control to their victim's movements.

They detach from Savestate's arms and can crawl around for a limited ammount of time.

The pattern on Savestate's chest its his "core", it is NOT, however, a weakpoint.

It is ENTIRELY cosmetical, Savestate keeps it around because it reminds him of a crown.

This however does not apply to his ORIGINAL BODY! Thats where his actual CORE is stored and the pattern on that body is permanent.

Abilities:

Savestate can generate crab like claws to help him grab onto his victims easier.

Savestate CAN shapeshift, but it is only on rare occasions as he finds shapeshifting a cowardly move.

As his name suggests, he can save points in time to then load them afterwards, this grants him the ability to predict and avoid any problems with ease.
